4-Star Hotels in Anhui, China

I traveled during the May Day holiday, avoiding the peak crowd, and my highly anticipated Huangshan trip was absolutely perfect. I originally planned to stay at a hotel on Bright Summit, but I changed it at the last minute the day before my hike. I'm so glad I chose Baiyun Hotel! The five-star service was impeccable – they provided foot soak tubs, shoe dryers, flashlights, and even down jackets. In the evening, they thoughtfully delivered fruit, and the 'Wogan' mandarins were incredibly sweet. The breakfast was also very rich and varied. Just a small suggestion: two bottles of water in the room felt a bit scarce, and the 160 CNY dinner buffet wasn't as good as breakfast; it could definitely be improved. Manager Xiao Min was excellent, and the self-directed performances by everyone were fantastic.

The hotel is very close to the city government and there is a patio lake to the west. You can go for a walk. The room is big enough to give enough space. There is coffee at the front desk and small snacks, which is good. But the hotel room has not been renovated, or the carpet is still covered. The above is dirty and there is a lot of dust. And anti-must smell. But the next day I was used to it, but I was not very friendly to people with allergies to the smell of dust mite smoke. Breakfast is very simple and there is nothing to eat. The tour group didn't even have noodles in the morning. A group of tourists waited there for the cook to give the mite powder and vegetables. If there is a condition, I really recommend the hotel to renovate it!

The location is great, right on Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street, making shopping very convenient. There's a Kawangka and a Zhan Ji downstairs, and it's super close to the Former Residence of Li Hongzhang. Subway access is also very easy, just a few minutes walk, and there are large shopping malls nearby. The hotel's front desk service was excellent; anything I requested was delivered quickly. The Chinese breakfast options were hot and delicious, which was a definite plus. Being on a high floor, it was very quiet, and I slept really well. Areas for improvement: When I brought my own sheets, they weren't neatly made up. The Western breakfast selection was limited, and the small bed in the family room had a rather basic headboard. I hope they continue to improve and get even better. Hefei is definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful hotel, quietly located in Tunxi. The staff was very helpful with all our requests. We spend 2 nights here to go to the yellow mountains which was a one hour drive one way. We had to leave one night earlier and staff was so kind to refund us that night which we hadn't asked for. The rooms are very nice and quiet comfy. I would certainly recommend this hotel and I hope to come back in the future!

This was my first time staying at a hotel on a mountain. The overall decor is quite new, but the room was very small, and most of the windows faced the corridor. Since it was the May Day holiday, there were a lot of guests, so the soundproofing wasn't great. I could hear kids running around in the room near the stairwell. In the end, they helped me switch to a room at the end of the corridor, and I had a good night's sleep. In the evening, there were face-changing and shadow puppet performances, which the kids really enjoyed. I had one stir-fry meal at the hotel, and it tasted better than I expected. I understand that construction on a mountain is difficult, but it would be even better if they could improve the soundproofing.

The facilities are complete, odorless, and relatively clean. The mini-bar drinks in the room are complimentary. Upon check-in, they provided slippers and a kaleidoscope for the child, as well as a welcome fruit platter. When checking out, we received a bag of souvenirs. The restaurant on the first floor offers a wide variety of dishes, and all the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, are incredibly friendly. The next day, after hiking Huangshan, I stored my luggage there, and the service was excellent. I'm planning to extend my stay for another two nights after coming down from Huangshan tomorrow. The hotel is conveniently located next to the high-speed rail station, making it easy to get to nearby attractions.

The young man at the front desk had a great attitude and kindly offered a free room upgrade from the second to the sixth floor, which was much quieter. However, the room's cleanliness was disappointing. There were nut shells on the leather sofa, indicating it hadn't been properly cleaned, and I even found false eyelashes on the floor near the mirror, left over from a previous guest. The room also lacked disposable toilet seat covers or any other single-use hygiene products. Given the otherwise good facilities, more attention definitely needs to be paid to housekeeping.
