4-Star Hotels in Osaka Prefecture, Japan

Our initial triple room was incredibly cramped, but the double room we moved to later had a normal, comfortable amount of space. The hotel's location is absolutely superb; it makes getting around incredibly convenient. The hotel occupies floors nine and above, with a shopping mall and restaurants on the floors below (up to the eighth floor). Getting here is very straightforward: take the airport bus to Osaka Station, and it's just around the corner in the direction the bus was heading. The transportation links are truly excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and varied.

Exactly near the entrance of Dountonbori not DOTONBORI...its slightly further 2bridges away but still its a breeze of a walk by the river... The greatest thing about this hotel is only 400mtrs to Doton Plaza where Shuttle bus to Kansai airport is located for 1800yen...too convienient..loved it.. As a solo female traveller,hotel is safe and great room size...Ask for 402..best room ever...Window overlookin the Dontonbori river..if u need toiletries before going up the room after check in u will find a kiosk...EVEN BETTER ENGLISH speaking Customer support is always on hand for assistance...I WILL DEFINATELY COME BACK...and at the lobby LUUP (E-bike & E-scooter is always ready to be used)...THE BEST END TO MY JAPAN 28days trip...

The location is fantastic, right by Tsutenkaku Tower. A subway station is conveniently located right next to the hotel, and a major transportation hub is just a few hundred meters away, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere. Nipponbashi Denden Town (Anime Street) is also within easy walking distance. After a long day of exploring, returning to the hotel for a hot spring bath is pure bliss! The ground floor restaurant offers all-you-can-drink options, with alcoholic beverages available in the evening, and complimentary ramen served after 9 PM. The surrounding neighborhood is also great; you can even walk to a Don Quijote store for shopping. The room size is surprisingly decent; there's enough space to easily open a large suitcase, which I was quite satisfied with!

A big thank you to Hashinaka-san for her assistance when I called the hotel to inquire about room types. Her friendliness was a major factor in my decision to book this hotel. Subsequently, the front desk staff were very proactive and helpful in coordinating our room arrangements, allowing us to stay for four consecutive nights without needing to change rooms. Everyone was very friendly. The hotel's main advantages are its excellent location and the fact that it accommodates two adults and one child in a single room. However, be prepared for the compact room size and smaller beds. I suggest bringing your own air mattress for the child to ensure everyone gets a comfortable night's sleep. If you haven't booked the hotel breakfast, you can find options at Drip Cafe, which is directly accessible from the lobby. Opposite the hotel is Grand Front Osaka. If you cross through the complex and then another street, you'll find the largest Patagonia store. While it's not tax-free, it's very well-stocked and even has a children's section.

I stayed in Hotel Keihan Universal Tower for 6 nights. In 29th afternoon, the staff (of the concierge near the toilet), Fang or Feng, was very helpful. She told me how to go to World Expo with details. She also showed me the metro map and station. However, on Jun 30th 8:30am, my daughter asked a female staff (of the concierge near the toilet) for a piece of A4 paper. The staff did not know what my daughter saying. Her English need to be improved. Later, she told my daughter the paper was not free of charge! I couldn't believe I spent more than US$1500 for 6 nights of stay but couldn't get a piece of A4 paper for free!! At last, I asked a male staff in check-in counter and he gave me a piece of A4 paper immediately, without charge! The room was pretty small. There was no table for writing, only a small round table without proper writing chair. The room was very clean. The air-conditioning was excellent and quiet! The breakfast was just ok, not delicious enough, could be improved. The staff English were pretty bad, need to be improved too!! I think we need a gym too! At last, the view of the buffet restaurant was fantastic, highly recommend

We booked a triple room for two adults and a child, but it only came with a double bed. Luckily, our little one was small enough to share. The room was incredibly spacious, and from the window, we had a view of the Hankyu department store across the street and the iconic red Ferris wheel. Check-in on the 19th floor was quick. On the room floors, next to the elevators, there were ice and beverage vending machines. Downstairs, there are 7-Eleven stores on both the ground floor (1F) and the basement level (B1). The one on the ground floor also sold a variety of souvenirs at reasonable prices, and they offered tax refunds. The location is truly excellent. We were a bit disoriented on our first day, but we quickly realized that no matter how you arrive, as long as you head towards JR Osaka Station, you can't go wrong. To reach other shopping malls, simply head to the second floor for direct connections. On our last day, we took the airport limousine bus to the airport. Following tips from Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), we arrived very quickly.

I booked this hotel because my flight was rescheduled to the following morning and I was already at the airport. It's conveniently located near Rinku Town. Environment: Given its open setting next to a parking lot, it could be a bit noisy during the day. Cleanliness: Excellent, very clean. Service: The electric kettle in my room was broken. I called the front desk, and after explaining the issue in English, they replaced it for me within a few minutes. Facilities: The bed was very comfortable. The toiletries were all Pola, which is true to Washington Hotel's usual high standards. Both check-in and check-out were fully digital, and you can even book a bus for the next day. Getting to the airport in just ten minutes is fantastic – no more worrying about flight delays!

The hotel's executive lounge with its complimentary drinks was a real highlight, perfectly catering to the varied needs of our family during the trip. Breakfast was delicious! The front desk staff were wonderful, and I found more Chinese-speaking staff here than at any other hotel during my trip. Shopping and dining were incredibly convenient; stepping out, you're right in the heart of the commercial district!

We chose Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka for our final night in Japan, mainly because of its strategic location—and in that aspect, it truly delivered. Situated just above the Namba walk, it was super convenient for shopping, dining, and getting around, especially with easy access to both JR and Metro lines. Do note that even though stations share the name “Namba”, you’ll still need to walk at least 5 minutes between some of them—but thankfully the walk through Namba Walk is smooth and luggage-friendly, unlike the bumpy roads outside. We booked a larger room on purpose, and it was worth it! We could open two large suitcases comfortably with room to walk around, which made our last-day packing much less stressful. The room’s European-style design was a refreshing change from the usual minimalist or Zen vibes—we really enjoyed the unique decor and hotel ambience. That said, the service felt a little underwhelming, especially for a 4-star hotel. The front desk staff seemed quite busy and didn’t have the same warm welcome or attentiveness we received from some smaller 3-star hotels during our 2-week trip. Nothing terrible—just not as personable. Still, for convenience, comfort, and aesthetics, it’s a solid pick. And being able to head straight to the airport by bus or train right upstairs? A definite win for travellers with heavy luggage like us!

My room was on the 12th floor. I had specifically requested a quiet, high-floor room in my booking notes, and the hotel kindly accommodated my request. The hotel's location is excellent, situated approximately 500 meters between two subway stations. Shinsaibashi is also a very short walk, about 500 meters, and Dotonbori is incredibly close, just around 350 meters away. Access to Kansai International Airport (KIX) is convenient via the airport limousine bus. The breakfast was quite satisfying; I particularly enjoyed the plain congee, pickled vegetables, and marinated fish – a truly nice offering. Nearby, there's a Family Mart convenience store and a local supermarket. **Environment:** The hotel was clean and tidy, ensuring a very convenient and pleasant stay. **Service:** The service was excellent, and they also offered convenient luggage storage.
