2205518****I chose the Paperman Hotel for the last night of my Kunming-Xishuangbanna trip, and I was extremely satisfied, it exceeded my expectations. It's one of my favorite hotels from this trip, and I'll definitely come back next time.
1. The design is fantastic, and the ambiance is great. Each area is uniquely decorated, making it easy to take beautiful photos. It's truly a delight to the eyes, I loved it!
2. The brunch, afternoon tea, and evening drinks offer a rich variety of food. The service was generous and thoughtful, and I especially loved the small touches like fresh flowers and other complimentary items.
3. The room details were also very considerate. Practical and comforting items like soft cotton towels were provided. The butler service was excellent, and their friendly attitude made me feel right at home.
Overall, I'm very pleased and continuously surprised! Highly recommended!

SSelinali96I truly love the overall style and ambiance here, which is why I want to offer a few suggestions for improvement, hoping the hotel can become even better:
1. The font on the in-room telephone is too small. Guests with poor eyesight and children need extra light or a magnifying device to read it. I suggest replacing it with a model that has larger fonts for better convenience.
2. Ventilation in the higher-floor rooms isn't great. I recommend activating the fresh air/ventilation system when guests are out of their rooms to ensure fresh air indoors.
3. The disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste are quite basic, not as good as what you'd find in a high-quality B&B. Upgrading their quality would better match the hotel's positioning.
4. The breakfast buffet counter is too narrow, and the layout is unpractical. There's no space to place your plate when getting food, which affects the dining experience.
5. There were occasional intermittent noises late at night, possibly from electrical equipment. I suggest investigating and repairing this to enhance nighttime tranquility.
6. The in-room toilet is not a smart model, and its functionality and experience fall a bit short of what's expected from a newly built five-star hotel. I recommend upgrading to smart toilets to improve guest comfort.
What started as a simple feedback submission led to a response far exceeding my expectations: The very next morning at breakfast, a relevant manager proactively approached me, offered a sincere apology and thanks, and even thoughtfully prepared a small gift for my child. When checking out, a staff member, having seen my feedback in the system, apologized again and promised future service improvements. From complaint reception and face-to-face communication to follow-up after departure, the entire process was thorough and genuine, without any perfunctory formality. This made me truly feel that my suggestions were valued and my needs were heard. Such a service attitude and execution are far more impressive than perfect hardware, and they make one more willing to choose and trust this hotel again and again! I look forward to my next stay and witnessing the hotel's upgrades and improvements.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is located in the very bustling Sunac Cultural Tourism City, near the popular floating bridge, and offers performances like 'Dianchi Night Moon'. The surrounding area is incredibly vibrant with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. The hotel rooms are beautiful and include performances. The breakfast is diverse and abundant every day. The service is excellent and very thoughtful. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!

MMarc1The hotel is beautifully located by a serene, quiet lake, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing stay. It is particularly popular among families with children, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The breakfast is fantastic, especially if you go early in the morning when the food is freshly prepared. However, later in the day, the selection may not be as fresh.
While the staff does not speak English, navigating your stay is still manageable with some basic Chinese and the help of Google Translate—just as it is in many parts of China.
I highly recommend booking a room with a spa on the balcony. These rooms are located on the second floor, offering greater privacy and more outdoor space. The spa feature itself can be a bit tricky to use—you need to ensure the water level is just right, as too much or too little will prevent it from working properly.
Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the staff is accommodating and responsive to any requests. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent amenities, this is a great choice.

KkingmainAs a loyal IHG member, I've stayed at over 10 InterContinental hotels in different regions, but the delightful experience at InterContinental Kunming genuinely impressed me!
The hotel boasts an elegant environment, feeling like a sprawling resort park. It's incredibly photogenic, and the location is superb, just a 10-minute walk from Dianchi Lake. The path along the way is lush and green, perfect for taking bread to feed the seagulls in the morning.
Breakfast was quite extensive, but with many guests due to the holiday, we opted for the Executive Lounge (à la carte + buffet). The Executive Lounge at InterContinental Kunming served the best food I've ever had! For dinner, besides the usual stir-fries, there were fish, shrimp, and various small cakes. Normally, I only take a tiny bite of cakes at buffets, but these cakes clearly used quality ingredients and had a rich, lingering flavor – I could easily eat several!
Even the complimentary drinks for IHG members could be customized into fancy concoctions, and their taste rivaled Starbucks! (As a foodie, these are the details I notice.) The rooms were standard and perfectly adequate. The IHG Rewards Club front desk, the Executive Lounge, and all the service staff I encountered at the hotel were polite and provided excellent service. I stayed at many luxury hotels in different cities during my Yunnan trip, but for overall experience and value for money, I give InterContinental Kunming a perfect score! 💯

AAutumnLeafI stayed at Cachet Boutique Hotel Kunming on 25–26 October and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located a little away from the main pedestrian street, but the area around it has plenty of lively bars and cafés that attract a younger crowd — great if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere.
The hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed. I was really impressed by the stylish decor, quality amenities, and the spacious room layout. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Checking in/out was fast and hassle free.
As an additional benefit, the hotel is located 10 minutes from the train station.
Overall, it’s excellent value for money — I’d definitely recommend Cachet Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Kunming who’s looking for comfort, style, and a touch of local charm.

AAnonymous UserThe room was very clean and had a great view. We were given flower cakes when we checked in, and a souvenir gift when we checked out. My child absolutely loved the chips they gave us. The butler was very responsible and promptly responded to and resolved any issues we had. They offer breakfast, afternoon tea, and a late-night snack. The rice noodles were delicious, and my child really enjoyed them. We're especially grateful to the lady working the late-night snack service for adding extra vegetables to our rice noodles, as my child loves them. The hotel is very close to Green Lake, Yuantong Mountain, and Kunming Zoo – we even saw beautiful tulips! It's also convenient to take the subway to the old town. We'll definitely stay here again if we have the chance.

Separate toilets for men and women.
Two per floor, with toilet paper provided.

They provide information about nearby attractions.
It's very close to Cuihu Lake, and Daguan River is right outside.
They remind guests not to disturb others at night.
After each check-in, they also send a private message and post in a group chat, reminding guests not to eat in the rooms or leave belongings scattered around.
As a result, the rooms are very clean and odor-free.
Common spaces are tidied daily, keeping them very neat.

It's incredibly quiet after 11 PM.

1. There are four floors, and no elevator.
2. The hot water supply can be a bit inconsistent.
Overall, my experience was 5⭐️
Because the rooms are clean.
There's heating; I even slept in a tank top at 7°C (45°F) in the room and wasn't cold.
The rules are well enforced.
It's very quiet at night, allowing for peaceful sleep.
The guests are of high quality.

MM294216****This place has some pretty noticeable pros and cons. First off, the decor and overall environment are great, and the public areas are quite spacious. There are even tables and chairs outside the rooms for working or relaxing, and balconies for drying clothes. The location is excellent, but that also comes with some noise; you might hear car horns around 7 AM.
Also, the hotel is connected to a bar, and you have to walk through it to get to your room, which was a bit confusing to find the first time. The front desk staff wasn't particularly warm, and they didn't offer all the necessary amenities during my first stay, so I had to ask for them. What's more, for this price, if it's not your first stay, they actually charge for toothpaste and toothbrushes – something I've never encountered before, as they're usually complimentary. The towels are also compressed disposable ones, not the standard sanitized kind, and they charge for them after the first use.

GGuest UserWonderful place to stay, I love the vibe and energy of the hostel itself. I did not stay enough to enjoy to lovely activities and community but I absolutely reccommend this place. I stayed in 8 women room and I appreciated the cleanliness of the bed, bedsheet, locker etc. That is very important as it is the only space just for you. Bathroom was ok, I did not know it is mixed but I did not have any problem - and it was also clean. I like the option of the restaurant and free tea at the reception. Location is also great! Kunming is lovely and artsy town🫶
