AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

CcatyeytFor my May Day holiday trip to Yunnan, Kunming was my last stop, and I specifically chose to stay at the Grand Hyatt. It truly lives up to its reputation as the flagship Hyatt in Southwest China. Bianca, from Guest Relations, was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. She proactively added me on WeChat, providing warm greetings and answering my travel questions even before I checked in. During my stay, she was incredibly considerate, and she remained available until I checked out, offering a full 10/10 experience.
The hotel's facilities are top-notch, and the popular public areas are elegantly grand. The concierge service is professional and efficient, with every detail exuding a high-end feel.
The dining experience also lived up to Hyatt's renowned standards. The Yun Xiang Chinese Restaurant cleverly blends authentic Yunnan flavors with classic Cantonese cuisine. The dishes are exquisite, the taste is spot-on, and each one is of exceptional quality, perfectly delivering a high-quality culinary experience.

I stayed at Hotel Z by Dianchi Lake in Kunming for two nights, and my experience was absolutely perfect. I just have to rave about it!
**Ambiance:** The hotel's location is superb, right by Dianchi Lake with beautiful scenery all around. The interior boasts a designer style, with elegant and tasteful decor. The Hermes orange color scheme combined with ethnic elements makes it incredibly photogenic. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with soft bedding and excellent soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.
**Service:** I really have to commend the service here! They offer 24-hour butler service, always on call. They proactively communicate via WeChat beforehand, and even arrange pick-up/drop-off and help with luggage. Upon check-in, there were welcome tea and snacks, including fresh flower cakes. They also provide free laundry and luggage storage. All my requests were promptly and professionally handled. The young lady at the front desk with glasses was especially attentive and deserves a five-star rating!
Whether for a vacation or a business trip, this place is perfect. Great environment and excellent service – I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kunming.

LLijuan ♪(^∇^*) This was my second stay, and the hotel is fantastic. The overall service is great. I really like the Wild View room type; the design is excellent, with everything you could possibly need. The cleanliness is also top-notch. The hotel is right by the lake, offering fantastic views. The forest by the lake is like a huge natural oxygen bar, and there's also a large lawn. The hotel restaurant is superb; breakfast is very rich and delicious, and the regular meals are good too. It's also a great choice for families, with craft activities for kids. My only regret is that I haven't had a chance to experience the spa on either visit, but I'll definitely try it next time.

MMaybelindabaoThe breakfast selection was extensive, but it got quite crowded. There's a lovely little garden in the middle of the hotel, which is beautiful. The indoor playground is very small, and there's no outdoor one. The hotel itself is huge, and you can call for a car service, but if it's raining, walking to the front desk can be quite a distance. The lobby is grand and impressive, and there's a peacock enclosure. A chef even saw our kids looking at the peacocks and picked some specially grown leaves for us to feed them – excellent service! The Chinese restaurant had good service and tasty food, but the 'Crossing the Bridge Noodles' felt a bit undercooked after just a quick dip; I ended up with an upset stomach three times that night. Also, there's a Cantonese restaurant inside the hotel that isn't hotel-owned. I wasn't aware of this before, and it feels a bit cluttered, similar to many other outsourced shops within the hotel.

GGuest UserThis hostel is absolutely fantastic! I stayed here 20 years ago, so returning felt incredibly nostalgic and comforting. There were lots of international guests, which is always a good sign. The place is clean and tidy, and they even have self-service laundry facilities. The little restaurant at the hostel is particularly good and offers great value for money.

The view is fantastic, even though it doesn't face Dianchi Lake. With 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, the room is tucked away in a corner, making it very quiet and ensuring a peaceful sleep without being disturbed.
## Service:
Jessica Xue at the front desk was incredibly efficient and provided thoughtful service. Other room service requests were also handled promptly and satisfactorily. The hotel even still offers some turndown service, which included small snacks and fruit.
## Areas for Improvement:
If there's anything to improve, it would be the hotel's umbrellas. The one in the room was flimsy, and even after swapping out a few with the concierge, they still had minor imperfections. It's not the best look for guests to carry around. Also, during turndown service, it would be great if they could double-check that the windows are tightly closed. One morning, there was a fierce wind, and I heard a hissing sound in the room. I had to use my experience to figure out the source and get up to close them myself! 😂
However, these are minor issues that don't overshadow the overall experience. I'll definitely be back, haha!

LlwwbThe 12-person room is spacious and comes with a large locker! You can grab 'Guoqiao Mixian' (Crossing the Bridge Noodles) right outside! There's a bar on the 3rd floor, but it closes around midnight, so no need to worry about noise!
