Hotels in Qianmen (Front Gate) and Chongwenmen Commercial Area, Beijing

I went mid December, and they upgraded my room from a windowless room to a beautiful Chinese themed larger room for free. However, due to the large window, the heating system scouldnt keep ul and the temperature couldn't get higher than 16 degrees. Luckily, I come from Canada so I wasn't that bothered but I can understand how it may be uncomfortable for some travellers. On the second day, the font desk asked how the room was, (I think they were concerned about it being cold) and offered to switch me to a windowless, smaller room, which would be warmer. Unfortunately, there were bed bugs that bit me a few times both nights, on my hands, back, and neck. I wish I were a more confrontational person and let the front desk know... Next time if this issue arises I will tell the hotel. Other than the issues mentioned above, the room was lovely, free of smells and the bathroom had all amenities, and they offer free toothbrush and toothpaste at the service counter if you need them. There's a working mini fridge, and the location is ideal, right in the centre of a cultural immersion tourist street where there are food shops and souvenir stores outside. Also, the staff are very helpful, and aided with making an online reservation for me to go to Tiananmen Square for the flag raising ceremony (everything must be done online, and they helped read out the Chinese words that I don't know).

I stayed 31 nights during january 2024 at 7 days inn hotel. I chose this hotel because it was very close to the subway, in the center of Beijing and the heating system was good according to the reviews. I changed room the first day so I could have a little bit better room. The previous room had no universal charger and was very dark, the windows in front of a wall. My room was on the first floor, just next to the shared bathroom and to the water dispenser. The room was very big and quiet (unless people talk in the corridor), not a lot of light but some rooms has more sun light than others. No fridge inside but since it was january I put my food outside the windows if I wanted to keep it fresh. If you want to warm some food, you can use the microwage in the commun area but I never used it. The commun area is very close from the entrance door so it was very chilly. The staff was nice but almost no english. They explained to me how to use the washing machine and once the wifi was not working so they helped me. Internet was definetly not very good but I was able to watch youtube with my vpn. I will start now talking about the shared bathroom (which I already knew was shared when booking) but I didn't know the toilet would be squat toilets. I think if I knew before, I wouldn't choose this hotel. There was no lock in the toilets. The shower room has one and was very cold (because winter). The hot water was always there but I took my shower usually in the morning (so less people). The shared bathroom was dirty mostly because of clients that didn't clean after their buisness. There was regulary water on the floor so I was just going with my shoes on at some point. The washing machine was broken the first 2 weeks and then got replaced. I'm still a bit confused if clients can use it or only the staff, but I used it anyway. The area is maybe a bit empty at first but if you go to the Hong Qiao Pearl Market, in the basement there is a big food court where you can try chinese food (or subway and macdonalds). Overall I liked my journey in this hotel but I think it was too expensive for a shared bathroom this old and dirty. I paid 1000 euros for 31 days.

Bathroom/shower stalls need to be cleaned THOROUGHLY of grim/stains and MOULDS! Which are not only unsightly but pose a danger to health! This is for ALL rooms! Water from shower stalls do not drain well due to poor construction gradient of shower floor. Check in smooth and although booked a room on 2/3rd floors, was given one on 4th floor accessible through an external door on 3rd fl through 2 flights of stairs and to the outside, certainly unsuitable for any older persons! Was subsequently given one on 3rd for subsequent nights. Poor room layouts, no storage space/hooks for clothes, no fridge and dismal lighting. Architect/designer has much to learn about room layouts etc before embarking on further hotel designs! Breakfast was ample/adequate but could have some different varieties each day for those who stay longer. This could have been an innovative arty hotel which the Owner has in mind but for the above. Saving grace was the front desk staff who were most helpful and special mention should be made of Helen, Owen, Jake and Vivian.

Because foreign brands cannot enter the Second Ring Road, parking in this hotel is super convenient. At first, the interior felt old, but after staying in the room, the room was clean, the mattress was comfortable, and I felt like I had a good sleep. The price is also good. I will choose it again.

Fantastic service, everyone was so friendly and respectful and professional. Room is well kept and cleaned everyday. Everything was fantastic except location. Its a little bit far away from central Beijing and takes around 50min of taxi to travel to the central areas. However on good traffic its 20min to central so is good. Would visit again!

The room is decent size for the price and it is well distributed. The closet is just a hanger for like 4 or 5 garments so beware. Bathroom unfortunately was a bit smelly. Bed was comfortable. I did not like the included breakfast because it’s actually a bag they leave outside the door every morning with the same menu everyday and did not like all the items. I will try a different hotel in my next visit to Beijing.

The location is right above the Chongwenmen Station and served by 2 train lines. Convenient for tourists who are visiting places of interest. A few shopping centres and local eateries next to the hotel. The room is decent in size and cleanliness. Check in and out process were smooth. Will check in this hotel again if travel to Beijing again.

Had a wonderful stay for 4 nights. The staffs barely speak english but some of them are very helpful to us, especially Ms. Li Siyu who has been incredibly helpful with everything and is very quick with the service, such as ordering a cab for us. She is also very polite and helps us with the little miscommunication happened in regards to the room change and we also got a complimentary free breakfast for 3 days due to this. Thanks a lot Ms Li, remarkable service! Room is spacious and very clean. The hotel lobby and corridor smells amazing. Breakfast is nice though the variety does not change much from day to day, but it’s not a big deal. Overall, it was really a pleasant stay here in this hotel.
