KKaren YueZhangWe struck gold when we found Hefu Hotel in Hangzhou. It is a beautiful inn with a traditional exterior and modern interiors. The surroundings are so peaceful, yet West Lake is just 15 minutes away on foot. We picked the Family Courtyard View Room with 2 bedrooms. Perfect size for our family of four. Spacious unit with a dining room. L'Occitane toiletries are provided, and the twirling shower massage is a great feature! The dining area crosses a living room and library, so much so it feels like home. Breakfast is made to order and a different main course is featured every day. Dinner is by reservations. We didn't know, but the staff accommodated us when I said the kids were too tired to go out again for dinner. We could even place our order, returned to our room to shower and rest, and then the kitchen called us over when our dishes were ready! For our second dinner, we were invited to ask for anything we wished to eat, even if the dishes were not on the menu. So, we order 3 from the menu and requested a light fishball soup and steamed egg custard. What a wonderful, heartwarming meal of homemade simplicity! Service is attentive, and I dare say will rival that of international 5-star hotels in big cities. When my boys couldn't wake for breakfast, staff prepared takeaways for them. When my 10yo said he preferred western breakfasts, staff prepared wagyu sausages and bacon for him the next 2 mornings! I asked about laundry service, and staff said they would take care of it for free! The night before departure, I told them about my difficulty understanding directions to my next hotel in a restricted heritage area. While I had dinner, the staff made calls to help me plan my way over and booked us a large vehicle for us and our suitcases. Hefu staff even managed to get my butler from the next hotel to connect with me on WeChat! We were so well taken care of!

LLucasSlightly old fashioned infrastructure, but plenty of space, and a truly amazing service - staff extremely nice and patient, smiling and ready to help, I was really surprised. Cane here with no expectation but left extremely satisfied. The room looks a bit old but there's plenty of space. Overall the feeling is closer to being at home than to being in a hotel, and I loved it!

GGuest UserNestled within the Xixi Wetland, the Banyan Tree Hangzhou offers an absolutely flawless stay! The surroundings are like a traditional Chinese ink painting of a Jiangnan water town. Opening the window reveals stunning wetland views – serene and inviting, truly a secluded haven not far from the city. The resort's private sculling boat allows you to enjoy an exquisite Western afternoon tea on the water, away from the crowds. Gliding along the winding waterways, with the gentle sway of the oars, you feel transported to a paradise, forgetting all worries and hustle. The service team is incredibly attentive, making you feel truly valued. Every design detail in the hotel is thoughtfully executed. We booked a suite, which was incredibly spacious, especially the walk-in closet and bathroom. The cleanliness was impeccable, with meticulous daily housekeeping. A special thank you to our wonderful manager, Jessica, who arranged everything from check-in onwards! She was so considerate and dedicated. Highly recommended! 🙏

GGuest UserThe cleanliness here is truly exceptional. The entire room was spotless and tidy. The bedding was pristine white, neatly arranged, and odor-free. The bathroom was thoroughly cleaned, with no water stains or hair, and even the corners were meticulously attended to, making for a truly reassuring and comfortable stay. All the facilities and equipment were complete and worked perfectly. The air conditioning provided stable heating with minimal noise, and the hot water was quick to come out with strong water pressure. The comfortable bedding ensured a high quality of sleep. The Wi-Fi signal was stable, and devices like the TV and lights were responsive and operated smoothly. The overall environment was quiet, and the hardware was very well maintained. It offers great value for money and is my top choice for accommodation when traveling. I highly recommend it to everyone.

VvivianfirstThis hotel has a Muji-esque vibe. The upgraded room allowed me to enjoy a bath with mountain views through the glass, and the minimalist wooden decor and expansive green balcony with floor-to-ceiling windows really brightened my mood. It's not far from the subway; navigation made it easy to find. After climbing a few steps and walking up a slope along a straight, tree-lined path, you arrive at the intersection with plane and ginkgo trees. It's only one stop from Tianmuli, which is super convenient for a day out – you can spend the whole day there seeing exhibitions, browsing shops, dining, having coffee, and taking photos of the architecture and trees. Zhejiang University, Wetland Park, and the Botanical Garden are also within a few stops, and it's only six stops to the city center, which is quite ideal. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was diverse and delicious – definitely worth trying!

AAnonymous UserThe room is clean and tidy. There are many books to read in the lobby. There are also free Hanfu costumes to borrow for taking photos. There are Tremella soup and tea eggs for midnight snacks in the evening. Parking is convenient. The surrounding subway is not very convenient. There is a villa garden next to it where you can take a walk and drink tea and coffee.

GGuest UserAfter a long search, I finally settled on this hotel, and it turns out I made the perfect choice – it's absolutely fantastic! Even better than the photos suggested! The location gets 5 stars, no doubt about it, as it's exclusively situated on its own island (Fulu Island). The room was even more perfect, earning 5 stars and then some! It boasted a huge private terrace, perfect for enjoying tea, chatting, and soaking in the stunning lake views – truly amazing! Our room type was on the top floor, incredibly quiet at night, providing a truly immersive experience with unbeatable views. With a view like that, who needs anything else? The items in the room were all thoughtfully chosen, and I was pleasantly surprised to find two bedrooms and two bathrooms – no fighting over the toilet in the morning, just perfect! All in all, every aspect of this stay exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be bringing my family back next time. Oh, and a special shoutout to Jessie at the front desk – her service was excellent, very attentive, and highly professional. Thumbs up!

GGuest UserI had a truly wonderful stay at Pins De La Brume Hotel Hangzhou — it exceeded all my expectations. The hotel combines elegant design with a calm, minimalist atmosphere, and every detail feels carefully thought out, from the lobby décor to the guestroom layout. The location is perfect — just a short walk to Lingyin Temple, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful mountain views. It’s like a hidden sanctuary within the city. My room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was well designed with a great shower and full amenities. The service here really stands out. Every staff member I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Check-in was smooth, and they even offered useful local tips and a room upgrade without me asking. Breakfast was another highlight — a semi-buffet with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options, plus made-to-order dishes that were delicious. Overall, Pins De La Brume offers a rare combination of serenity, style, and hospitality. It’s the perfect place to relax after exploring Hangzhou — peaceful, refined, and full of charm. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

ZZhizhi88Aman Experiences: Of the four Aman hotels I've stayed at, Aman Shanghai is the most recommended, while Aman Kyoto is the least. 1️⃣ Aman Summer Palace, Beijing: The rooms feel a bit dated, and the service isn't as good as at Aman Shanghai. However, the hotel has a back entrance leading directly to the Summer Palace, great for morning runs. 2️⃣ Aman Yangyun, Shanghai: Picturesque scenery, warm service, and even little animals for kids to play with. The restaurant food is excellent; breakfast fruits are fresh, and there's a delicious, authentic small-pot rice noodle dish. 3️⃣ Amanfayun, Hangzhou: This hotel was restored and renovated from Fayun Ancient Village within the West Lake Lingyin scenic area, surrounded by a 'cluster of temples.' Lingyin Temple, the first famous temple in Jiangnan, is about a 10-minute walk away. Since the hotel is converted from an ancient village, the lighting at night is dim, and the decor is rustic... There are also many mosquitoes. The swimming pool is very old and outdoors... After Evergrande's collapse, the hotel staff are currently self-managing, and there are many plump stray cats around. The kids had a great time petting them... 4️⃣ Aman Kyoto, Japan: I arrived at Aman Kyoto with high expectations, but was sorely disappointed. The hotel is situated in a narrow mountain ravine, with trees in front of the guest rooms and a nearly dry stream behind them. The rooms are very small. Ground floor rooms can be opened to the outside, but it's just woods and scattered rocks; second-floor rooms just look out onto the trees near the entrance. The room design is already dated. The wooden bathtub's wood has turned black, and it even broke one day, rendering it unusable. What I found most unacceptable was that the hotel's bedsheets were very old and had a hole in them. The bedding wasn't changed at all during our three-day stay, so we had to live with the torn sheet for three days. Pros: The hotel breakfast tastes good, but the cooking methods and ingredients are pretty much the same every day. By the third day, I could barely eat any more...

AAnonymous UserI came to Hangzhou during the Spring Festival and found this hotel to be a great option. The transportation nearby is very convenient. There's a bus stop right outside, Tianshuiqiao Station, where bus 78 goes directly to the Broken Bridge at West Lake. It's also just a 10-minute walk to Wulin Square Metro Station. There are major shopping areas nearby like Intime In77 and Wulin Night Market. The hotel breakfast is very rich and offers a variety of options, including noodles and wontons. In summary: This is a highly recommended hotel. You definitely have to try it if you're visiting Hangzhou!
