We stayed 2 nights at Chiayi Hotel. The receptionist was helpful when we arrived at night. The parking space for cars is two blocks away and we had to walk for a while but that’s wasn’t a big deal. The hotel is about 800m to the train station or 15 mins by walking. The breakfast was okay. We opted for vegetarian meals. All in all, we would love to stay here again if we ever come back to Chiayi

Great experience, stay in the motel room type at the price of the hotel! The room looks great, the first time I saw the garage with aisles and open-air view design! It's spectacular ～ cp value is super high
Breakfast is also delicious when you check in. The only fly in the ointment is that there is no socket on the bedside of my room type, and then there is no hot water in the room, and the water can only take up to 4 bottles 😭 not enough for us ⋯⋯

Orange hotel wenhua is located nearby wenhua road night market, location is convenient. I book room for 3, the bed is comfortable with a soft comforter. Downstairs have one convenient store. Breakfast buffet is good with multiple choice. Have turkey rice, and is so good.

GGuest UserThe service attitude was excellent; they were very proactive in helping with everything. Parking was a bit tricky right at the hotel entrance, so we had to use their partner parking lot, which wasn't too far. The hotel itself is pretty standard, not luxurious, and the facilities are a bit dated, but it was still clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the soundproofing between floors wasn't great. Kids running and jumping upstairs sounded like an earthquake all night, and we could also hear noise from the neighboring rooms. The breakfast was a buffet with limited options, pretty much standard fare, but they did have some local specialties like chicken rice and Danzai noodles. Overall, for the price, it was decent value for money, especially if you can overlook the noise issues I mentioned.

GGuest UserThe room was comfortable and simply furnished. While the walls and ceiling showed a bit of age, they certainly didn't look dirty or run-down.
We stayed in a quad room (corner unit) this time, and the layout was quite peculiar. The bathroom was a triangular space, awkwardly fitted with a bathtub and an inward-opening door. It felt incredibly cramped for even one adult and one child to shower. To make matters worse, the door was right next to the showerhead, causing water to constantly spray out through the gaps during a shower. Definitely a poor design!
Overall, my impression was decent, and the cleanliness was average. However, considering the room and the price, it still offers good value for money.
The absolute highlight, in my opinion, is the fantastic location! They also have an affiliated parking lot.
On a side note, there's a Lin Family Fen Yuan (tapioca dessert shop) right next door, to the left of the hotel. It's incredibly chewy and delicious – highly recommended! 😍
The Wenhua Road Night Market is also a pleasant 8-10 minute walk down the alley diagonally opposite the hotel. 👍

GGuest UserChiayi is a quiet town on the edge of alishan mountains, as such there are not many major shops and eateries around. South Urban is a luxurious hotel standing in the middle of the quiet town. The popular food and night market are within 15min walking distance from the hotel (there is u-bike stand just opposite the hotel, but there were no bikes available when we headed out in the evening).
The hotel staff were generally friendly, but there are not many amenities available to guests. There were only hair dryer and bedroom slippers available. The hotel did provide two bottles of water, and there is a water dispenser at the lobby if guests need more water.
Other tourist attractions within 20-30 minutes walk around are prison, Hiroki village, railway park.

AAnonymous UserThe location near Chiayi train station is very convenient for staying before or after a trip to Alishan. The downside is that our room, the Chunqiu Buran Room (standard double), had a very, very strong musty smell as soon as we entered. Even with the bathroom door closed, the smell lingered, which made for a very poor experience. I wouldn't recommend staying in this particular room. There were also one or two small gnats on the bed occasionally, so pest control could be improved.

TTina GoodenoughThis hotel is super convenient, right across from the Chiayi MRT Station. You can even see the bus stop for Alishan from the station exit. Plus, the MRT offers a free shuttle to the Chiayi Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, which is a huge bonus. The room was spacious and felt quite new compared to other places in the area. The bedding was clean. Breakfast had limited options, but it was enough to fill up on.

QQing｜zhouThe hotel is very close to Chiayi TRA Station, just a few minutes' walk away. There's also a bus stop right outside that goes to the High-Speed Rail station in just half an hour. The front desk staff were very welcoming, the room was spacious, and breakfast was plentiful. Highly recommend staying here!

AAlb33My husband and I were visiting my brother. Stay there for two nights. The celling was quite low and the bathroom was OK. However, overall cleanness is a bit below standard. The flooring in the shower seemed dirty and well used, we were not confident to walk in the shower with our bare foot.

DDelonXDFirst I was supposed to give 2 stars because when we arrive at hotel, they only accept cash in twd dollar as we thought already paid via online. So, it caused us to paid more compared to online as the exchange rate. We dunno why they wanted us paid first via online and then refund to us after the day check out. This will make the process too complicated. This hotel was so traditional even no online payment & maybe doesn't have debit card too?
Honestly, the hotel was really nice looking & clean as the pic shown. The toilet look good but the bathroom door was so so old and rushed cannot close. The bed was strangely & weirdly comfortable but it sounds of spring so so noisy when we moving around the bed. This must be changed because senior or someone not comfortable with hard bed should not booking this hotel!!! The aircon work well but at night it automatically closed down. Maybe save electricity or something as thought we didn't set anything??
This hotel provided buffet at morning (6.30 - 8.30am) such as toast, rice and porridge. It so nice since this hotel was budgeted compared to other which more expensive. However, we dunno why they set the time so earlier in the morning should be until 11 am or 12 pm. Who will wake up in that time?? Maybe people cannot sleep that time or something else. I 100 % sure that the foods will be leftover.
The service was well...ok nothing to comments. The overall still budgeted hotel & the location from train station was so near, the Wen Hua night market was so near about 800 meter.
We still NOT STRATIFICATION with this hotel !!!!

GGuest UserGreat location near the Chiayi train station. Very convenient if you plan a day trip to Alishan. However we found ants and cockroaches in our room. It was manageable on a budget but if insects make you uncomfortable I would not recommend.
