The hotel was a little run down from the lobby, but the rooms were acceptable but far from being great.

let’s me say my thinking:
1/ when I arrived it was uncomfortable situation on reception by asking me if I’m sure that I want to have one bed cuz there were two guys. We fine with both, but I don’t think that it is reception business who sleeps how. For me I like big bed and two blankets that give you more space. Especially with friend I travel for years;
2/ I never tried swimming pool so I have no idea if it is good or not;
3/ I have to admit beddings and pillows are very good quality and very clean, no objections, this is 100% satisfied;
4/ room is very “tired”. The carpet done of the pieces, it is very old;
5/ room smells moldy and a/c doesn’t work good enough to dry it, so due to high humidity it is not so good;
6/ I remember that 4* hotel should provide you with 3 types of towel for person: face, hands, body towels, however you will get one. Yes, they change it everyday, but it will be one per day. Besides, the quality is very low and sometimes old with holes;
7/ all environment is old and broken: shower, cabinet, old and smelly carpet;
8/ if you use toilet be sure: other will be disturbed by lights and by whatever you do in toilet - 0 of privacy;
9/ we had only one lamp in the shower, it was feeling so dark, like im in the house basement.
Conclusion: location good and beddings clean. Rest not. I suggest to pay 50$ more per night but get something much better.

The room was clean and comfortable for a night stay . With the shared toilet availability. However the toilet cleanliness is not excellent, maybe because really a lot of occupancy that’s why the cleaner not able to clean the bathroom immediately or after use by the guest

Traveling with two kids, I booked a quad room. The room was spacious with a king-sized bed (nearly 2 meters) and two twin beds, perfectly accommodating our family of four. The room was also quite clean. However, there were a couple of downsides: 1. Some of the room's facilities were a bit dated, for example, the showerhead wasn't working very well, and the uneven tiling around the bathtub could hurt small children. 2. The hairdryer was fixed inside the desk drawer, which made it a bit inconvenient to use. Overall, the environment was very good.

For this price, don't expect too much from the cleanliness. Lower your expectations, and you might find it just about okay.
The pros: It's close to the Rainbow Police Station, Fort Canning Park, and the Little India temple. Public transport and MRT stations are a guaranteed 10-minute walk away, and there's a 7-Eleven within 5 minutes. Even though it was hot and we were tired in the afternoon, the kids still had energy, so we let them go to the pool. It's small, which is good, and not too deep, so I just relaxed on a lounge chair while they had a blast all afternoon. Clarke Quay is right next door.
Cleanliness is just average, and the rooms are small. Next time, if I increase my budget slightly, I'd stay at the Ascott Roberson House nearby.

I like the spacious room, it has a balcony that we can get out to. The bed and pillows are comfy and nice. The bathroom really has a bathtub, but we never got the time to use it. The hot water works fast for every shower. Ours was located on the 4th floor, they have 2 working elevators so there's no wait coming up and down.
Location wise it's good, except for the construction happening at Pratunam which is gonna take a long time. So the room is noisy too.

The main disappointment during our stay was the interaction with the reception staff, particularly Annie. After being informed that the hairdryer would be located in a specific drawer—which turned out to be empty—we called reception to request one. Her response over the phone came across as noticeably annoyed. When she arrived at the room, her first instruction was for us to open the drawers, at which point the hairdryer was found in the last drawer, stored together with a Bible. This raised concerns about internal communication and whether housekeeping checks were properly carried out prior to check-in, especially since the hairdryer was not placed where guests were told it would be.
In addition, despite clearly specifying a double bed during the booking process, this request could not be accommodated. As this was communicated in advance, it was disappointing and affected the overall comfort of our stay.
If this property were classified as an inn, it would be acceptable; however, as a hotel, it falls short. I am quite particular about cleanliness and upkeep, and unfortunately both were lacking. Maintenance standards felt low overall, particularly the bathroom ceiling ventilation fan. While I understand that the entrance carpet is intended for shoe removal, being greeted by a visibly dirty carpet is quite off-putting.
The so-called “terrace” is essentially an open space with two plants and a wall planter illuminated by spotlights. While the intention to reference the Shakkei design principle is appreciated, but the execution and level of maintenance leave much to be desired.
As other reviewers have mentioned, sound insulation is very poor. Footsteps in the corridor are clearly audible, and we happened to stay next to a family, with noise continuing late into the night. The shower area itself is semi-open with a grid pergola soffit, and we could even hear a neighbouring guest singing in the shower—which is completely normal and not the guest’s fault—but it does highlight how thin the soundproofing is. While the design intent is evident, better maintenance and acoustic consideration would have made a significant difference.
If you’re considering paying extra for breakfast, it’s not worth it. It’s not served on-site—you have to walk out to either the German breakfast spot, Bread Beer & Brez’n, or Killiney Kopitiam, where the options are very basic (just two soft-boiled eggs and toast). It’s easier and more cost-effective to simply step out or order in breakfast instead, as there are plenty of other food options nearby at a better price.

Stayed at ST Signature and overall it’s a solid option if you know what you’re signing up for. The biggest advantage is the location — very central, close to MRT and plenty of food options nearby. The property is clean, modern, and efficiently run.

XXiangyoubianzhongguodeJerryZSingapore Shangri-La: An Exploration of Southeast Asian Hotels
Opened in 1971, this hotel holds significant historical value as it's the very first property in the entire Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts group. Thanks to excellent upkeep, it doesn't feel old at all. It features three wings in total: Tower, Valley, and Garden. I stayed in the Tower Wing this time. The room was quite spacious, though its irregular shape took a little getting used to. The hotel breakfast was a bit pricey, so I skipped it, but I did enjoy the pool and Health Club twice during my stay.
The pool is an impressive 2.5 meters deep, which is quite rare for a hotel. The Health Club is fantastic, offering a sauna, steam room, and a hydrotherapy pool.
GGuest UserThe hotel room was average, a bit small and dated, with a really poor view. Honestly, it felt worse than a typical Hanting Hotel back home. The service was also just okay. I saw online that they offered Chinese-speaking service, but when I checked in, the front desk attendant, who was clearly Chinese, specifically said she didn't speak Chinese. I've stayed at Conrads in China before and had a great experience, so this was a huge disappointment in comparison. I definitely won't be staying here again.
GGuest UserI stayed at Lyf Funan Singapore for 2nights as a business traveller.
The design is fun and colorful, not your typical hotel vibe. The room is compact but works fine, with a private bathroom, and the sink is outside the bathroom which is actually quite convenient. I stayed in a standard room—it’s okay for couples or friends.
The hotel has more of a co-living feel. There’s a shared kitchen, dining area, and even a small workout corner, so it feels more social than a normal hotel.
Breakfast was a bitsimple with limited options, just a few simple dishes and some bakery items. I’d recommend skipping it and eating outside instead.
Location is definitely a big plus. It’s inside Funan Mall, super convenient for shopping and food. You can also easily walk to places like Fort Canning Park (right across the road), Clarke Quay, and Merlion Park.
Overall, nice stay if you like modern design and a lively vibe—just don’t expect too much from the breakfast.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, with a shopping mall right downstairs and Lau Pa Sat nearby, making dining very convenient. The decor is modern, and there's even a small kitchenette. The best part is being able to go up to the 51st floor for amazing views of Singapore.
WwilliamguanThe location is superb, right in the heart of Orchard Road, opposite Ngee Ann City, making it incredibly convenient for shopping on both sides. It's also very close to the MRT station. To get to the hotel rooms, you first need to go to the 4th floor and then take another elevator. This trip, I stayed in a standard twin room. I didn't get a room with an Orchard Road view, but the room itself was quite spacious – more than enough room to fully open two large suitcases. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, but the space was decent. However, the shower area has no door, so it felt like if you showered for too long, water would easily spill into other parts of the bathroom.
YYaoziCatherineThe location is quite convenient, and there's a free laundry room on the first floor. However, there's only one washer and one dryer, so you might have to queue up in the evenings. The staff at the front desk, both the ladies and gentlemen, were very polite and enthusiastic. The room is on the smaller side, but clean, and probably best suited for one person. For two people, you'd likely struggle to open your suitcases. The downside is that there's a restaurant on the first floor, and the corridor on the second floor gets quite smoky during dinner time.
SSheilaOSheilaRelaxing and thoroughly enjoyable.
Really good rooms with luscious pillows. The tub was heavenly. The pool was packed with kids but enjoyed my time there to sleep, think and do almost nothing. 3 nights.
My only 2 gripes : no smoking room that's enjoyable to be in, and that their coffee is average.
I'll definitely give this a 5 star rating for peace, comfort and joy at a decent price.
AAnonymous UserThe room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good. The front desk staff were enthusiastic and check-in was efficient. The location is convenient for getting around, and overall, it offers great value for money. My stay was very pleasant and I'd recommend it.
SSTJK-111The hotel is very close to the subway station, which makes getting around super convenient! I stayed alone and the room size was perfectly adequate. It was my first time traveling abroad, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth. Overall, it was a good experience. I stayed for 5 days, and the room was cleaned promptly every day.
AAnonymous UserUgh, I forgot to take photos, so I'll use some random ones instead. First off, I chose this place because it's super close to Universal Studios, and I figured a chain hotel wouldn't be too bad. But the price wasn't exactly cheap – I paid over 480 for a queen room. I know hotels in Singapore are pricey, so this was within my expected budget; I'd already come to terms with the cost. The front desk staff were all really nice. However, my heart sank when I opened the door. The room was tiny, and they don't provide slippers, toothbrushes, or cups, citing environmental reasons... though if you ask the front desk for a toothbrush, they'll give you one. For cleanliness, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 – not terrible, but not outstanding either. It's a small room but has all the essentials, though you definitely can't fit two suitcases in there; it felt really cramped. On the bright side, the soundproofing seemed pretty good. I'm not sure if there were no other guests or if everyone was just incredibly considerate, but I didn't hear any noise. Plus, I was so exhausted from sleeping at the airport the night before that I slept like a log. It was the best night's sleep of my entire trip, and I was genuinely shocked that I slept best in the smallest room... Oh, and the shower gel and shampoo are all-in-one, so if you're particular, you might want to bring your own.
