My partner and I had a wonderful time at Amantaka in December this year. The whole city has just bounced back from the pandemic so I had a little expectation when coming to Luang Prabang this year. However, everything at the resort was exceptional, from the moment we were greeted at the airport, to when we were warmly greeted by the members of staff as we arrive at the moment, and when we left the resort. The property was converted from a historic building but was very well maintained. It has a classic and subtle charm and feels very cosy and intimate. Don't forget to use the Bath House that with a private pool, steamed room and sauna. Thank you Amantaka team for exceptional hospitality and I will be back again!

When our driver pulled up to the hotel by a rickety bridge over the river, we were a bit nervous as the hotel looks tiny from the outside. What we thought was the hotel was actually the lobby and the hotel is actually quite large and sprawling with buildings and bungalows scattered next to the river. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool by the river with a lounge chairs, beach towels and an affordable pool bar with snacks for sale. The rooms were spacious with large balconies. The toilet was by the front door so you had to exit the WC walk around the corner to the bathroom to wash your hands - sort of a weird set up, but did help in the morning for 2 people to get ready. This was the only hotel we stayed in with dual sinks and a long vanity so excellent for 2 travelers and a big plus! The shower was a walk in so east access. The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast (included) is served in the morning. Unfortunately it was a buffet with limited options and the food that was supposed to be hot was always cold and unappetizing. The hotel uses tiny candles to try to keep the food warm but this method does not work at all. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to town which is a negative as you need to walk across a scary rickety bridge to get to town. The hotel does not have a gym which is a requirement, in my opinion, if you want to be a 5 star resort. My only other comment to management is to find a few better English speaking employees as we had difficulty communicating with staff. Yes we know we are in Laos and should learn to speak their language but I feel when you cater to tourists you need a few people in each area to speak the universal language for business. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend this hotel to others.

The staff were lovely and always greeted you with a smile. The pool area and gardens were well maintained. The rooms were a little dated and although nothing wrong with them I think I would opt to stay in one of the small hotels or villas along the nam khan next time rather than this little extra out of the centre. Breakfast choices were good with a nice non sugary muesli, milk & yoghurt, nice cafe latte and an egg station plus toast, croissants and Asia stir-fry dishes. They had free bikes you could use, although I didn't see any helmets. As noted, for what we paid it was 'ok'.

I have less evaluation of this hotel. I stayed for a week and introduced you to it. First of all, the hotel location is very good, between the Mekong River and Nankang River, there are major attractions such as the Royal Palace and Xiangtong Temple. The structure of the house is good. I don't know if it is a general rule here. The hotel is not like the domestic one. There are many types of rooms, even if the room type has a difference in pricing, there will be no difference. The decoration of the room is relatively refreshing, the room area is relatively compact, and the sanitary condition is good, but the quality of consumables such as toothbrush toilet paper used in the room is relatively low. The hot water in the shower is no problem, but the basin has no hot water. I don't know what other hotels are like. The attitude of the staff is good, and individual female employees see that the guests do not say hello and continue to look at the mobile phone. It seems that there is a lack of training. The Chinese communication at the front desk is not good, and the translation machine is barely coping. Fortunately, there are not many exchanges to live in the hotel. Breakfast is useless, the same every day. The first two days I lived on the same floor, Chinese families with children, too noisy and the door was closed. This strange hotel was a bit reluctant. By the way, I reminded tourists that they should also pay attention to their own image and jointly maintain public quietness. I didn't know what local activities were in the next two days, and it didn't quiet down until midnight. Overall, Luang Prabang's stay in the old town is mainly old houses and homestays. The location advantages and basic facilities of this hotel are OK, so the business is still good. There are also many other homestays nearby. The bus ticket from Luang Prabang to the train station is set from other homestays. 50,000 kip per person is more affordable. This hotel is contacted by the chartered car price of 300,000 kip. My feeling is that it can be considered average in terms of comprehensive cost performance. For your reference.

Located at a central to go the night market and also along the Mekong River. Very quiet and splendid hotel. Opposite is the Huean Chan Historic House museum and a Spa massage centres. Adjacent is the main road and easily accessible to A** to withdraw cash. Local food stalls and coffee bars are abundant here. Staff are helpful and my room is clean and change towels everyday. This is an thumbs up to the room service staff. One of the amenities you have to bring is your tooth brush and your tooth paste. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay at thatsaphone hotel.

I am a solo traveler in my 50s. Most hotels in Laos are small-scale. The staff are very friendly. Kuang Si Falls join van reservation 100,000,000 kip I booked a new motorcycle rental for 250,000 kip per day at the hotel. This hotel has a semi-basement, so if you book a cheap room, there is a high chance of being booked in the semi-basement. Even just idling at the table in front of the hotel seems emotional. Breakfast is plain bread and coffee. The location is good, with many shops nearby and close to the Mekong River (1 minute walk). Hmong Ahi Market is also close by (5 minutes walk). There is also a Miniso nearby, but it doesn't have many items. I bought sunscreen and a band next to the Miniso pharmacy. Currency cannot be exchanged at the hotel. The room is not that clean by Korean standards. Some complaints are covered up by the kindness of the staff.^^ It seems like a lot of European travelers stay here. Overall, I am satisfied with the price.

The cost of renting a car for one day is 140000 Kipp. There are fans, air conditioning. Free tea and coffee on the terrace! We originally booked for 3 nights, but only ended up staying for 1. I'll start with the positives - the location is very convenient in terms of centralisation and the staff are in general kind. Now for the bad. When we arrived, it took a little while for someone who could understand English to check us in, and even then he took a while with our passports and finding our booking. We were originally told that we would be getting 2 beds, as we had requested online, but then we were shown to a room with only one large bed and told there were no other rooms available. The room was very dark and the bedsheets were off white and partially stained. Then we went into the bathroom and let them know that there were hairs everywhere and asked them to clean it. Unfortunately, their version of ”cleaning” it was to take the toilet squirter and just spray everything down, leaving the bathroom soaked. So in order to not get my feet wet, or sit on a wet toilet seat, I had to take a towel myself and wipe everything down. The towel went black instantly. It was quite a hot evening and muggy room with mosquitoes, so it would have been nice to turn either the fan or the aircon on, however I refused to once I saw the immense dust build up. Like I said, the staff were kind, so we kindly forfeited our second and third nights' stay and went elsewhere, letting them know it just wasn't clean enough for us. It's disappointing, because my father and brother had a nice enough stay here 3 years ago, I just think that the new staff to this hotel just don't care as much in terms of keeping it clean. I appreciate them for putting us up nonetheless, I just hope they come to understand that more effort and attentiveness needs to be put in in order for them to have more success. I genuinely wish them well in the future and hope this improves.
