Stayed two night at this motel. The motel was a clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. The room was self contained with a kitchenette. Even though it is on a main road there was no noise either from the road or the guest at the hotel. Breakfast was ordered when we arrived and a continental breakfast was delivered each afternoon to the room which was great as we had a 6.00am flight on the last morning and was able to have breakfast before leaving. We frequently visit family in Townville and stay at a different location but in future we will be staying at Banjo Paterson Motor Inn.

We stayed for 2 nights in room 19. It was in the second row from the road and had no road noise. The shower was good. We had our own wifi so can’t comment on the wifi on offer. Netflix was included. The fridge has a little freezer. The unit had tea/ coffee 2 bowls and 2 plates. It was close to a pub across the road, 5 min walk. The bed was comfy and the ac worked well. There were a number of other travellers here and families as well. I think the pool has been filled in but the bbq area is still there although We didn’t use it. Checkin was easy.

Booked this hotel through lastminute.com (they are next on the list of reviews) and turned up during what we thought were reception hours. Apparently closes at 6. Needed to wait for someone to come book us in OR go running through the hotel to find them. Arriving just after 6, there was a serious of stuff arounds, and we were put into the wrong room. Despite attempts to resolve this, we were still waiting 45 minutes later for a suitable room that we had booked. I had booked a family room specifically for the bedding of 1 Queen and 2 singles, (for my son, granddaughter and myself), but had inadvertently neglected to put in the child in the booking, and apparently this gives the hotel the right to switch around the bookings and give them a room that they ”think” is appropriate. Not good enough. At this stage I requested a refund (and was assured this would happen) and we went and booked at another hotel. I have since made contact with the hotel, and they accept no responsibility, and have refused to refund, as they supplied a room for 2 adults and that is all they had to do. Obviously, they thought I wanted a family room bedding setup just for the hell of it. While we were there awaiting service, there was also another gentleman trying to check in, and after travelling all day, he was told he had to go down to the games room and get sorted. BTW, what we did see when we were waiting for room to be sorted, was that the room stuck, doors didn't lock and were extremely basic. Do yourself a favour and book in at one of the decent places in town.

My wife and l were put in apartment 5A on the first floor. This apartment is in dire need of an update. We were there for four nights and paid $162 per night, if you are getting an apartment that is fresh and clean and updated to a reasonable standard then this would not be a bad price to pay in Townsville. But sadly 5A is no more than $100 a night at best. The carpet had so many stains that l said to my wife; that it wouldn’t matter what we spilled anything on it because no one would be able to tell the difference. The tv was tiny, the kitchen was barely equipped, the shower made a very strange noise all the time it was in use. In general it was just a no frills apartment. The only two good points are that the bed was really comfy and the reception staff were great, they did all they could within their means to make our stay pleasant. In hind sight we both said that if we were staying in Townsville again we would pick a more central hotel, because without a car we felt a little out of it.
