Great location with restaurant and grocery shop nearby, worth for money. Should improve on cleanliness as the bedsheet seems like not clean enough which my relatives are skin allergic after staying the hotel.
its very strategic location when you transit at kota kinabalu international airport.just 5-8 minutes distance from kota kinabalu international airport to this K avenue when not the traffic jam period.its only Rm6-Rm10 by Grab Carš
but this time comfy house looks like abit disappointedš¤ļø the bathroom is really smell bad and few cockroachs at the basinšØand the one who live to the next door is noisy at midnight timeļ¼cant get a good rest for me and my family when we have an early flight at 7am.
I was enjoys stayvacation at Marco Polo Hotel. I like this hotel because near to Masjid. My child love to bath with tab at rooms. The aircond is cold and very comfortable to stays. The lamp on the desk is beautiful and my wife love to selfie in that area. But sadly no breakfast like before. I hope one day they put breakfast like buffet later
Good location. Took the deluxe room which comes with a fridge. The rooms are accessed by password so you can leave your keycard in and having your aircond on while you are away.

1) Reception can speak English that is so nice.
2) Room is clean but it is very small room.
3) Take a shower with hot water but it is VERY LOW WATER PRESSURE and very slowly. Suddenly it will STOP the hot water when you are taking a shower šæ.
4) Breakfast is OK but the fruit is ONLY a little bit and NO re-fill.
5) Location is so far away from Gaya street.
The price is really good for such a low price. The sea area is very beautiful. Breakfast and dinner are included. The downside is that there is no air conditioning. Of course, you can choose a more expensive one with air conditioning. There is no hot water, but cold water is acceptable. Unlimited rice, the taste is OK. Mainly for playing in the sea, so I think it is worth it. I will choose this place again when I come to Semporna in the future.
I donāt think I have ever written a review of a hotel. I returned home from Semporna after a transfer in the middle of the night, but my heart was still in the water house in Semporna.
It was my first time to Malaysia. I saw that this water villa was new and had high ratings, so I booked it with the mentality of giving it a try. The result was really beyond my expectations.
The thoughtful arrangements made by the Chinese butler, the clean yacht for pick-up and drop-off, and the warm and honest black people all made our anxiety turn into peace of mind.
Along the way, everyone was amazed by the jelly-like ocean, the clearly visible starfish, and the various small fishes everywhere.
The clean rooms, the quiet environment with only six rooms, the fresh and hygienic dishes, the fun of being able to go down from the public area to play in the water and catch crabs at any time, the simple black people who took close care of us while diving and took us to visit the Bajau people, all left our family with a good impression of Semporna and even Malaysia.
Because the sun is too strong and the lighting for taking pictures is not good, let the beautiful scenery be recorded in your eyes and heart.
I highly recommend staying at this hotel when you go to Semporna. It's such a great experience.
About check-in and reception: After the shuttle arrives, the staff will take you to the reception desk, and you can quickly get the key to your room and check in directly. Almost all the people here are Chinese, and the atmosphere of the resort is relatively comfortable. Even when it is full, it will not feel crowded at all. About meals: Three meals a day are in the form of buffets. Basically, you can eat fresh crabs at every meal, and there will be some snacks in the afternoon~
Free unlimited snorkeling (accompanied by staff): As long as you are a guest of the resort, you can snorkel unlimited times. Equipment and coach companions will be provided here
Free round-trip boat transfer service (reservation required in advance): I am lucky. It only takes more than 20 minutes from the town to the resort. It is more friendly to me, because if you sit for too long, your ears will really buzz. Of course, this is related to the weather and sea area of āāthe day. It is just a reference.
Staying here was a truly memorable experience. The resort is set in a serene location with a picturesque lake where you can fish and even take a boat ride around. The unique touch of being able to bring your catch to the kitchen and have the chef cook it up for dinner was a real highlight. You can also buy fresh seafood from the local market and ask the chef to prepare it however you like for a very reasonable fee. The food, prepared by the owner and chef who hail from Guangdong, was the best Iāve tasted in Semporna. Each dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing authentic Chinese cuisine at its finest.
The resort is about 15 minutes from Semporna town, but they offer a free shuttle service to and from the town, which makes it incredibly convenient for guests.
At night, thereās outdoor karaoke under the stars, creating a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, the resort had a homely vibe, with the owner and staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
The resort itself is new, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. I felt right at home the entire time. The peaceful surroundings, combined with excellent service and food, made this a perfect getaway.
To note that the staff mainly communicates in Mandarin, so knowing a bit of the language would be helpful.
I stayed here for a night after a 5 day dive trip and this was the perfect place to unwind and relax. I loved my stay so much that I canāt wait to return. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat in Semporna!

We especially like the location which is a short stroll away to Gaya street where plenty of shops and eateries can be found. The room we stayed is spacious and clean. The air-con could do with some servicing though as it wasnāt effective. Also, the drainage in the bathroom was slow. Ā All in all, we had a pleasant one night Ā stay.

TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience.
Long:
This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time.
Undesirable / Cons:
-No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though
-No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least)
-No tv, no fan but cold in general
-Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper.
-Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example.
-It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room
Desirable / Pros:
-Big room. Not smelly
-Is cement board floor
-Big single beds. Not smelly
-Clean bed. Fluffy cover.
-Water heater is working for family room at least
-Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around.
-Has a table and chairs in room
-Lots of electrical port
-Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
-Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel
-Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review
This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito.
p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. š
p.s.s. I saw a greater coucal gliding into the forest in the morning!
GGuest UserThe location is very good. Next door is the Chinese Seafood Kitchen, which is opened by people from Northeast China, but the taste is that of Guangdong. The seafood is delicious, and I ate mantis shrimps as long as my arm. The hotel itself has breakfast, but it is just a very ordinary one. I can only say that it is enough to fill me up. The service is good. I was allowed to store my luggage when I came back after 2 days on the island.
GGuest UserIt was my first time to experience a water house. The slide went directly into the sea. It was very interesting.
Service: The hotel's arrangements are in place and they can help you solve any problems you have. We booked a charter boat for snorkeling for two people. The instructor is also very professional and will dive to the bottom of the sea to help you catch the fish from the bottom of the sea.
Facilities: As soon as I entered the room, I couldn't wait to experience the slide. At first, I was worried that I would sink into the sea if I slid down. There are life jackets at the front desk, so there is no need to worry.
Free dinner: The dishes are very rich, the chicken is very tender, the crabs are also very fresh, there is crab roe in it, you canāt get enough of the shrimps
KKem WaslyAlways a favourite hotel when stay in Kota Kinabalu as it quite affordable and have private parking area (only RM2). In the city centre and do have night market infront of the hotel
AAnonymous UserThe place is very convenient. But the room is a bit small.Toilet door can't lock. If having a mirror in the room is better. Only have a mirror in the toilet.
MMJ ChiaNice cozy room with the Mount view, space is just nice for two.
The hotel/villa is located in a remote area but the environment is comfortable and with great view.
Parking space is available and bbq amenities are provided too. The only thing that needs to be bring up and improve is the water pressure and temperature of the water heater, the water is warm but the water pressure is terrible. The outflow of the water is so slow and it is a hassle to have a proper bath with the heater.
TTrip User 28Booked near my meeting place
