I had the pleasure of staying at Violet Hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and I wanted to share my experience with everyone considering a trip to this holy city.
First, the location is absolutely fantastic. The hotel is situated just a short distance from the Haram, making it incredibly convenient for performing prayers and attending religious duties. The view from my room offered a beautiful sight of the surroundings, providing a serene feel which added to my spiritual journey.
The staff at Violet Hotel deserve special mention. From the moment I checked in, they were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable and hassle-free. The concierge service was particularly helpful in assisting me with local transportation and offering advice on places to visit.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. I appreciated the modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and a fully-stocked minibar. The bed was very comfortable, making it easy to get some much-needed rest after long days of prayers and exploration. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, ensuring the room was spotless each day.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's dining options. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices, from local Saudi dishes to international fare, all prepared with fresh ingredients. I also dined at the in-house restaurant for dinner a couple of times, and the meals were absolutely delightful.
In terms of facilities, the Violet Hotel offers several amenities that enhance the guest experience. There is a well-equipped fitness center, which I found extremely beneficial to keep up with my exercise routine. The business center also came in handy as I needed to catch up on some work during my stay.
Overall, my experience at Violet Hotel was exceptional. Whether you are visiting Makkah for a spiritual pilgrimage or just to explore the city, I highly recommend staying here. The combination of its prime location, excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and fantastic dining options make it a great choice for any traveler.
It was a unique experience. I faced a problem before arriving and contacted Ms. Ruba and the solution was immediately provided. On the last day, an evacuation plan was issued. It is true that it would be a surprise for the hotel, but it is not reasonable that from ten in the morning until the afternoon they would turn on the alarm every now and then. We did not find any apology or prior warning of what happened, even by text message. The hotel is unique in all aspects: cleanliness, parking, room services, and workers. It is worth the price paid. I will repeat the visit. The breakfast is unique and varied, but the designated place is narrow and needs to be expanded. Next to the hotel is the Al Mostaqbal Mall, Al Baik, a grocery store, a laundry, and a mosque. Everything is available.

The room was really clean and extremely comfortable, and definitely helped given that we had a long layover.
However, the service is really bad. We had to wait in a queue for about an hour just to get to the reception desk. Apparently it’s always like that so I don’t really understand the value of making reservations ahead of time. They definitely are understaffed. If they can’t hire anyone else then the least they could do is issue out tickets and have enough seating to accommodate guests so that people aren’t frustrated.
Amenities are decent but there’s no dental kit or even a bin in the bathroom.
There are not many shops around the building, but I think more will be added in the future.
The electricity in the room is shut off every day during the day, which bothers me.
We stayed at El Ebaa for one night before moving to a place closer to Masjidil Haram. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and offered a reasonable price. If you don’t mind a bit of extra walking, this hotel is definitely worth considering.
I recently stayed at Elaf Ajyad Hotel Makkah, and overall, it was an average experience. Here’s a breakdown:
✅ Pros:
• Location: Situated fairly close to the Haram, but the steep uphill walk can be challenging, especially for elderly guests.
• 24-hour Front Desk: Staff is available around the clock, which is convenient for late check-ins.
• Room Size: The room was spacious enough for a comfortable stay.
Final Verdict:
Elaf Ajyad Hotel is a budget-friendly option for those looking to stay close to the Haram without paying premium prices. However, the uphill location and outdated facilities may not be ideal for everyone. If you’re looking for basic accommodation and don’t mind the walk, this could work. Otherwise, consider alternatives with better accessibility. Overall I loved our stay in this hotel.
