Fascinating scenery. Every corner of the hotel is a beautiful landscape. The hotel's service staff is professional and kind. They will patiently answer your questions. Any problems during check-in will be solved immediately and you will be given feedback. The hotel has a private beach, which is clean and beautiful. The private swimming pool is clean and beautiful. It can be said to be the ceiling of travel.
The best of the five-star hotels we live in in Sri Lanka. The thick colonial style rooms are all independent villas. Both the twin rooms and the big bed rooms are very good. The most favorite is the gauze mosquito net. It is very romantic. The room is full of porcelain ornaments and oil paintings. It feels like a room. Antiques. We went early the next morning, the hotel arranged for us, and the breakfast was very intimate.
Facilities: Complete and beautiful, but the usage and precautions need to be explained by the housekeeper, such as only using their toiletries, because they are afraid that other toiletries will corrode the special bathtub and washbasin.
Hygiene: Original ecology, clean. There are crows building nests in the restaurant, which is super cool.
Environment: The favorite part, and also the most regrettable part, I didn't encounter elephants in the hotel, but I saw wild boars and lizards. The environment at the seaside is great, private beach, but the waves in the Indian Ocean are a bit too big 😅. The night lighting in the restaurant is very dim, which may be deliberately designed like this. Don't play with your phone in that environment, it's easy to be blind.
Service: Each room is equipped with a housekeeper, and his housekeeper will add your WeChat, tell you the details of the check-in and how to enjoy the hotel's services. For example, when we went there, the little brother said a lot of chatter, and the central idea was to let us go to the bar or the beach to enjoy their afternoon tea 😆. It's really very meticulous and thoughtful.
Everyone booked this hotel for the concept of all-inclusive, right? ! Me too! It's really worth it. Just bring your luggage and leave the rest to the hotel.
Before leaving, they also gave us an elephant cup, hehe 😁
The environment, facilities and services are all very good. It is the most satisfactory hotel for this trip and also the most expensive. The double room we booked was originally charged 150 US dollars for an extra person, but in the end, the total of the extra person and the breakfast we ordered was only more than 700 RMB. It is very close to Yala, but the road to drive in is very rugged, and the car we booked was very difficult to drive.
If you go to Yala in the morning, the hotel can pack breakfast, but that breakfast is very unpalatable. Later, we ordered food after we came back (charged), and the food we ordered was very delicious. Just ask the waiter for recommendations.
It is not unsafe as some reviews say, and we didn't even encounter a 🐒. We went out late at night to take pictures of the beautiful starry sky, but the staff also came to remind us to pay attention to safety.
The hotel facilities are good, and the washbasin in the bathroom is relatively high. There is a separate children's swimming pool, which is relatively dirty. Other pools with a depth of 1.05m can be used. The dining time and check-out time of Ctrip are different from the actual hotel, and the hotel shall prevail. When checking in, the front desk asked for an all-inclusive wristband, but it was not given to us. Later, we downloaded an app of the hotel and learned that only with this wristband can we enjoy the hotel services.
Amanwella Great experience! There are 30 suites, chatting with the housekeeper. In the past, Europeans, Americans and Indians came the most. This year, Chinese people came a lot. November to April is their peak tourist season, and when the house prices are at their highest, prices can go up. The service is nothing to say. The beach is not suitable for swimming in October. We recommend the safari park and lagoon projects. You can see many birds and animals. The Bhutanese manager is very nice. If you have any needs, tell him and he will arrange it directly. The disadvantage is that it is a bit far from the airport, a 3-3.5 hour drive. Unlike Aman in other countries, airport pick-up and drop-off require additional fees.
Really enjoyed my stay at fort bazaar. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Due to the rainy weather down south I changed my plans to go to Tangalle and stay a couple of extra days at Fort Bazaar and enjoyed the spa and walking around Galle.
I was a solo traveler and felt safe and comfortable there.
Definitely somewhere I would consider to stay again
Departed for Sri Lanka on September 28, 2023, and checked into the Amangalla Hotel in Galle Fort. It was the sixth Aman hotel to check in. It felt great. Amangalla was built in the 17th century. It was formerly a military command in the Netherlands. It later became the first hotel in Sri Lanka. It was acquired by the Aman Group in 1995. The hotel is not big, but it is well-equipped with swimming pools, massage pools, yoga rooms, etc. , you can experience local shaving services and foot massages.
Amangalla is the smallest Aman I have ever stayed in. It is in the middle of the ancient city of Galle and a 10-minute walk from the lighthouse. The surrounding area is very convenient for eating, drinking and entertainment. There is the Tuna and the Crab restaurant, which is a brother restaurant of the one-Michelin-star restaurant in Colombo. If you have enough money, you can try it.
Be sure to choose his tea plantation tour, which will also take you to see the sea turtle hatching base and stilt fishing. It was very interesting. Although I fell off and stepped on a rock while fishing on stilts and was injured, I gained interesting photos and a rare life experience. The ancient city of Galle is also worth visiting. Amangalla can arrange cars and tour guides. The hotel is right in the center of the ancient city. The location is good and it is very convenient to go everywhere. Although I fell into the sea while fishing on stilts and cut my feet. All in all, it was still a very interesting experience.
The two Amans in Sri Lanka are different from the ones we stayed in before. They are far away from Colombo and do not provide free airport pick-up services. The airport pick-up fee for the five of us was about US$400 in a large amanganla. It should be noted that if two Aman activities are booked for consecutive days, they generally need to be booked from the official website, not Ctrip agents.
I stayed at the Wild Coast Tented Lodge of the same group before, so I didn't have a serious injury without comparison.
The scenery is good, the beach is beautiful, but the room is very ordinary
It opened not long ago, but the room facilities are a bit old, the floor and sofa are not very good
I had dinner, the sashimi was full of thorns longer than nails, and several of them were playing dumb
The crab was empty and the meat was scattered
The seafood platter said lobster, but it didn't show up
The pork belly smelled of mutton
The only thing that was okay was the mushroom pasta that tasted like a fast food restaurant
It is just two next door to jetwing yala, this is a primitive one, the modern one, here is a small single-family room, outside the room is the forest of the national park, it is said that animals may be seen. In general, the hotel here is suitable for people who are not afraid of bugs and prefer the original environment, because there are really too many small bugs in the room, flies, mosquitoes, flying insects and gecko. After staying for one night, I found three geckos running fast, and I was still a little scared. 😂. The facilities are OK, but the electricity is unstable. The power is cut off several times. Although the call is very fast, the hot water is too small. There is no separate restaurant. If you eat, you will take the car at the front desk to the next house for dinner. According to friends, the dinner buffet is not bad. Choose on demand

GGuest UserEnvironment: The hotel has its own beach, which is very convenient for walking and clean
Room: Average, I was given a room on the third floor with a view of the golf course. Although it is a bit far to go downstairs to the beach, it is not humid
Service: I asked for water twice at 9 o'clock in the evening, and they promised very well, but they didn't deliver it. The room service is average. It was my mother's birthday, so I booked a cake when I checked in. When we had dinner in the evening, the chef and waiter brought the cake and sang to celebrate for my mother, which was very thoughtful.
Golf: I decided to play golf on a whim. The playing and tips were very cheap, but renting balls and buying gloves and balls was very expensive!!! It's outrageous. If you want to play golf, at least bring your own gloves and balls. Don't come here to buy expensive ones that make you want to cry. The golf course is well maintained, and the caddies are generally professional but full of emotions.
HHUANThe hotel is very close to the Marriott. It can be seen from the beach. The service staff are very friendly (the front desk person with fat eyes and round eyes is super nice). This place has a lot of surfers from all over the world! Great! The breakfast is rich and delicious
NNizhaobudaowoEnvironment: Beautiful environment, facing the swimming pool and the beach. The sand on the beach is very fine, so you can go without shoes without worrying about the pain.
Service: The cleaning staff is very enthusiastic. Every morning when I come back from playing, there are many fresh flowers on the bed and elephants and dogs made of towels, etc., which makes me feel relaxed immediately!

MMelaniWe had a fantastic stay at the Marriott and extended for two days as it was too difficult to leave the place;) the service is over the top, great amenities with a great pool and even better beach. The in-house catering offers a really good sushi place but we appreciated the little food area next to the hotel as well. All in all the best spot to relax but also do great activities such as surfing and turtle swimming. The only negative thing if I have to name one is the kids club: it is really not a nice place (and smelled). No wonder there are hardly no children there and mine didn’t want to stay there either. But we came for the pool anyways …
JJD75A little hidden gem we found to break up our trip between Tangalle and the airport. It’s off the beaten track, we came in via train and caught an Uber to the accomodation. We were upgraded to a larger suite on the top floor with stunning views.
The hotel was fantastic, set on magnificent grounds, the unassuming exterior descends into a modern accommodation block. Amazing views of the lake, we opted to eat our meals on the balcony soaking it all in with excellent room service, tasty breakfast and a bar / restaurant downstairs. We enjoyed the hospitality and the price point represents very good value for money. Great pool and outdoor space to relax in.
Absolutely perfect for a stop over as you venture through this wonderful country.
BBENJAMIN WILLIAM HANSENWe visited during off-season, so there were very few other guests. The first morning we had an unusual ”set” breakfast, which was understandable as no buffet was offered when there were so few guests. Water pressure/temperature was unstable and there was a weird pulsating noise in the bathroom. On the positive side, the staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. It's a lovely estate in absolute terms and stunning in relative terms. Very near the trendy fort area, which is worth a visit. Overall pleased.
JJIANLINGThe house is very high-class and simple, and the natural ecological environment makes people feel comfortable. Just prepare the anti-mosquito liquid and close the door easily. The overall design of the house designed by the landlord is artistic and the details are attentive, clean and refreshing, especially the open open-air bathroom is impressive! After six days of fatigue, I took a super refreshing bath, refreshing! The landlord patiently and meticulously asked each of us about our breakfast preferences, and enjoyed a very rich and delicious breakfast by the blue swimming pool and the monkey swinging tree! Everyone even has a carefully fried double egg! Great stay experience!
AAyushThe Resort is very beautiful. The rooms are comfy and spacious. I have uploaded some room pictures you can see in that the rooms are nice.
The main attraction is the property itself. The Resort is lake side with beautiful landscaping and design. On the first floor the is lounge and billiards room where you can chill. On the second floor ( Terrace ) there are multiple small rooms, lounge, fitness centre and spa created for meetings, leisure and relaxing.
There is pool on the ground floor overlooking the lake. Which is perfect in the morning. This property is to enjoy the Resort itself.
You can definitely stay here. It is worth the money.
