Sofitel Hotels in Shanghai

My biggest thanks go to Eden at the front desk for my stay at the Sofitel North Bund. She not only handled my check-in quickly but also thoughtfully reminded me about the hotel facilities and offered suggestions for nearby attractions. When I encountered a small issue during my stay, she patiently resolved it right away. She made the entire trip incredibly comfortable and enjoyable!

It’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for a quiet, luxurious staycation away from the hustle and bustle of the city perfect for couples or even a relaxing solo unwind. The hotel itself is beautiful and spacious. My room was impressively large, the bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was spotless—housekeeping did a fantastic job. Service was another highlight. The staff were warm and accommodating, and I really appreciated the front desk team for arranging a late check-out, especially since I arrived quite late. If I had to point out a few areas for improvement: * The air conditioning felt slightly warm at times, possibly due to the size of the room. * Breakfast could be better staffed—during my visit, the noodle station was handled by one person managing multiple stations, which led to some mix-ups and delay.  That said, these were minor issues and didn’t take away from the overall experience. One thing to note: the hotel is located in Hongqiao, so it’s a bit far from the city centre. Travel time can be around 30–45 minutes (or longer during peak hours). But honestly, that’s also what makes it such a great escape. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel that lives up to the Sofitel name. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and high-quality stay in Shanghai.
