Hotels in Xuhui District, Shanghai

The location is superb, no doubt about it! It's incredibly convenient for families with pets and children. I thought it would be noisy in the city center, but the small courtyard provides excellent privacy. The bedding was clean, and the butler was super patient and explained everything in advance – a very good experience! The only downside is that the parking lot is a bit far. If you're driving, you'll need to park there; taking a taxi or public transportation would be more convenient.

I was truly so impressed with the hotel. When I arrived, they did tell me my room wasn’t ready and offered me some light refreshments, I told them this it was past 3pm and would like to freshen up if there was a room available. Within several minutes they upgraded me to a different room that was ready. The front desk was extremely helpful, it was almost like the language barrier wasn’t there. When I entered the room I was impressed with how thoughtful things were laid out. From the separate shower and toilet, to the lights on the mirror and even the toiletries. One thing I wish I could change is the switch situation. I’m someone who likes to sleep with a night light but I couldn’t pick which lights to keep on/off. There were pre-selected “moods” like sleep, mood, bright, etc. Location was absolutely brilliant with the subway station just across the road, a convenience store across the road, selected restaurants and salons around the hotel. I asked for a late check out which they granted me as well. You can store your luggage before check in & after check-out too. Aside from that the staff were so friendly, including the cleaning staff who wished me safe travels. I thank you kindly for the excellent hospitality! I’ve never been treated so well as just a regular hotel guest. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai and would be back. Xie xie ni, thank you!

Facilities: The room type we stayed in was great, a bit larger than a standard room, and had beautiful green bamboo outside the window. The breakfast was quite tasty, but the drinks were average. Cleanliness: The daily cleaning was generally good, but some areas weren't as thoroughly cleaned. Environment: The location is good, not far from the subway station, making it convenient to get to major attractions. Service: The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and accommodating, which was a huge plus. Overall, highly recommended! (Compared to other Hanting hotels in Shanghai, this one is excellent in all aspects!)

This was my first stay at a Hanting Hotel, and it's a very new property. Overall, it lives up to its price point. At check-in, the front desk staff asked me to scan a QR code. When I asked if it was for a membership registration, they said no, muttering something about an 'event.' After scanning, I found out you had to register to proceed. I specifically asked again if it was for membership (as I didn't want to register), and they still denied it, giving vague answers. I really dislike this kind of hidden registration and hope they can improve this process.

The front desk offers a good selection of complimentary amenities, which is really convenient. Getting around is super easy too, with several subway stations nearby, and you can just hail a taxi right outside the hotel. The room was clean, odor-free, and came with smart home features, which was a nice bonus. Overall, it was a pretty good stay.

1. The hotel rooms are small, and with over a hundred rooms, it feels like navigating a maze. 2. The soundproofing is terrible. A couple stood outside our room chatting late at night, waking us up, and the hotel did nothing about it. 3. The hotel is right next to a main road, so the noise is very loud. 4. The two men at the front desk either looked grim-faced or were glued to their phones; I never saw them look up when customers walked by. 5. It's advertised as 2 floors, but there's no elevator, and it seems to have been extended to 2.5 floors, making it a struggle to get upstairs. 6. The cleaning lady was very polite, and the bespectacled gentleman at the front desk at night was also very courteous.

The front desk staff were incredibly nice. It's not their fault the room was a bit small, but it was very clean, and the facilities were quite comprehensive. Overall, it's pretty decent. It's also super convenient, being very close to the hospital. Definitely trustworthy.
