"The location is good, right outside FengChia market, but the bus to and from the HSR comes every hour and is usually delayed. Better to take a cab.
Beyond that, the temperature control in the room doesn’t exist. We set the temperature at 24 degrees, but it was freezing all 3 nights. My husband usually loves the cold weather and we sleep in aircon at home, but even he was shivering from the cold."

"Everything was great except when it was cold at 7 degrees. I tried to take a hot bath in the tub and the hot water turned cold after few minutes and there was no more hot water after that. The next morning the heated pool was also not warm enough. I was told by the pool guard the that the heating system for the rooms was out of order the night before but only the rooms were affected.
Rooms are spacious. Would be great if hotel can provide shuttle service to town, night markets, places of interest or major hot spots on demand."

"The counter is quite polite, the room is clean and renovated, the space is small, and it is a pity that the hotel does not have breakfast. There is no other choice except a breakfast shop opposite. The convenience store also has to walk for a while, and the transportation location is suitable for those who have transportation ( (motorcycle or car), it is some way away from the station. If you walk there at night, it is recommended to go together."

4 stars for staff: The email management department cannot effectively grasp the customer's needs. One question was confirmed three times, but the on-site service staff was very 👌🏻
Price 2 stars: Compared with other hoshinowas in Japan, this one in Guguan not only does not include meal charges, but also charges each item separately, causing trouble for passengers. Moreover, the taste and sophistication cannot be equated with the price, and they are a bit deceived into spending meal charges. It feels like accommodation charges in Japan include at least one stay and two meals❌

SSEANIEBEEA 5 star hotel that deserves its rating. Rooms are comparable with Sheraton/Hilton etc... it's a well-oiled machine and everyone was efficient and kind. Shout out to my namesake SEAN in the Prime restaurant on the roof who took care of us with a memorable Christmas dinner. One for any short list in Taichung.

GGuest UserThere's a lot that I like about this hotel. Our room was nice and large for the price. The decor in our room was beautiful, especially the wooden furniture. The toiletries by Cha Tzu Tang are the best! The location was great for us, being near or very near to useful bus lines. I would love to see more fresh fruit in the breakfast buffet. I would *really* like it if they have black coffee as an option in the room. (Inhouse Hotel Grand: If you're reading this, please can we have black coffee in the rooms that we can make for ourselves?)

AAnonymous UserLocation - I’m not sure if we just missed out on what’s nearby. But we did walk on the sides, we were searching around of what’s there to see. We didn’t see much, like we realized after walking for a few minutes that we just found the convenient store which is kinda far if that was the nearest available (or again, there could be one the other side we don’t know haha).
So after walking around, and realizing there’s nothing much to see. We already booked an Uber going to the night market.
It wasn’t that far from the HSR Station. I couldn’t remember the exact distance and travel time. But if I find it far I’d normally remember it and say it.
Service - it was an easy check-in and check-out. Though, I almost forgot to get a receipt. Had to proactively ask for one. Luckily we decided to stay for a bit after checking out, we remembered it and got to request for it.
I like how they already asked upon checking in if we need a room cleaning service. That was convenient.
The breakfast was so so (on my personal taste bud). Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that bad.
I love the room the most! We were happy about how spacious it is. And it has an AI box which we loved. The bathtub has a tv, the shower area was spacious, the ambience of the room, hallways and lobby. The free snacks. The brand of the body wash and conditioner. The free Nescafe machine in the lobby.
I’d definitely recommend it and I’d stay here again.
(Though I still have a pending concern that I have to figure out myself, cause the amount showing in the invoice was different from the amount showing on tha app. Haven’t checked how much was the final amount taken out on my card)

LLeslie TravelsI feel that Sof have a really good design concept. The open air concept in the walkway to our room , really bring out the special vibe of this hotel. However the amenities is lacking. There was no bidet and toothpaste provided.
The location is not perfect as it was the red light district of Taichung. A few of ********** can be found standing clost to the hotel.

The location was perfect, very close to the tai zhung train station and can be found easily. I especially enjoyed the breakfast and the relaxing atmosphere. I’d highly recommend it!

JJgoh81Firstly, the hotel management has strong empathy allowing me to cancel 1 night last minute due to family issues that I have to check out 1 day earlier.
But to my surprise, Check in timing is surprisingly at 4pm.
Gym facilities is under renovation but did not prior inform the guest upon check in.
On Trip.com, stated open 2023 which is very misleading that the hotel was newly renovated or newly built. But the rooms are old but luckily not rundown and rooms are clean.
