The location is amazing - literally right above the metro station and arrive at the front door in less than 30 seconds. We’ve stayed here for 4 nights and the receptionist we have met are super nice - one of them even guided us to the kitchen to microwave our dinner. Two things we wanted to point out - 1) We had some formal clothes that required ironing, however, the ironing board in room is stored beneath the table and obviously gets super dirty and dusty. At the end we had to iron on the table with a towel on. 2) The housekeeping lady would come knock on our room every morning at 10 to check if we need cleaning or not. One day we told them yes we do need cleaning and would be leaving the room in 30mins. At 3:30pm when we got back to our room, no cleaning was done and yet the cleaning lady came and said either cleaning now or not. We found it quite confusing and disorganised.

Here are the key points of my feedback: Room Setting: The view of the room is nice and antique. However, I did not quite understand why the sink were separately located at the corner of the room instead of inside the washroom. Dining Experience: My dining experience at the hotel was satisfactory. If there was hot food available in the morning, it would be much better. Amenities and Facilities: While the hotel's amenities and facilities were functional, I observed signs of wear and tear throughout the property. Investing in the upkeep and modernization of facilities could significantly enhance the overall guest experience.
"The Freddie Mercury" Hotel
4.2/545 Reviews
The location of The Freddie Mercury Hotel worked well for us. Despite being nearly attached to the Montreux train station, it was set back from the main road and on a quiet street in the centre. Very easy to walk everywhere in Montreux from the hotel. There is underground car parking (EUR25/night and best to request when reserving a room), but the entrance is a bit tight into the car elevator and large cars / vans would have difficulty maneuvering even in the parking garage. The quad room on the 4th floor was very spacious! A large king sized bed, plus two twins, plus a sitting area with two chairs and a small sofa. All felt very clean and like a modern “boutique” style hotel, though the shower room felt slightly too small for 4 people. (The toilet was in a separate room.) We were told there was “no AC but all the rooms are ventilated”, but it stayed cool enough with the metal electronic metal blinds down during the day so we didn’t need the AC. There’s also a desk area along the window…over looking the train tracks. Even number rooms faces the train track and odd number rooms face the lake. The hotel is a new training facility for the nearby hospitality traininig school. Hence, the more reasonable prices in an area where hotel stays can be quite pricey. Despite the “Freddie Mercury” name, it’s really more just some photo history of Freddie on the walls and not much else. Still, the hotel offers a very good value in terms of its quality and main services. Breakfast (EUR18 per adult, EUR9 per child) each morning was served until 10am. Buffet style, nothing fancy, but there was always a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, salads, cereals, yogurt, breads, croissants and whole fresh fruit. Along with hot options of eggs and hashbrowns, plus coffees, juices, and a water refill pump. We had the pleasure of meetimg Mr Zampetti, the hotel manager, and Swift, the front desk manager. Both were very professional and pleasant in sorting out an issue with one of our rooms. We loved the Montreux experience and would definitely stay at the Freddie Mercury hotel the next time we visit…for its quiet yet convenient location, its value for money, and for the courtesy of its staff.
Ibis Lausanne Centre

Exactly what we needed. Comfortable room and bedding, very large shower tub. The Breakfast was nice, with attention to avoid disposable material, fresh yoghurts, two coffee machines. The free Lausanne pass allowing free public transportation (and other advantages) was appreciated.
Villa Toscane

The transportation is very convenient. You can take the bus from the train station to the hotel in one stop. Thank you very much for upgrading us to the five-star hotel where we checked in. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and enthusiastic. The room we stayed in was spacious and bright. Except for the lack of toothbrush and toothpaste, there were slippers and other toiletries, and the toiletries were high-end. There was a small incident because although two people applied for it when making a reservation, only one person's name was reserved, so we were only given a travel pass. When visiting the ancient city of Chiyong, we need another transportation card to get a 50% discount. , fortunately, I got the number of another transportation card through phone communication. Hope this is noticed when checking others in. Overall, a very satisfying stay experience
B&B Hotel Nyon

We stayed in Nyon during our tour of Switzerland. It's super nice little town on the shore of lake Geneva. We loved the atmosphere there, especially in the old town. We chose the B&B to sleep for budgetary reason but let tell you, we were very surprised by the quality of the hotel. Very cozy lobby with a terrace and a TV area, nice comfy rooms with real AC (the first one we encounter in Switzerland) and of course a wonderful team! Those guys are always smiling ! Cherry on the cake, the parking was free ! Trust me this makes the difference, in Geneva we had to pay CHF 35.- per day!
Bon Port

This hotel is not worth ONE star! The so called ”breakfast” is cheap food in old buffets and a dark, dirty room. THREE old PIECES of cheese and formed ham, as cheap as animal food, is NOT a breakfast, that is simply FRAUD! NEVER TAKE THIS AS A HOTEL!!! It is a kennel on street level. Without blends in front of the window, with damaged bath-insides and damaged furniture insed. It is a CHIZ to every custumor expecting THREE stars! We had THREE little dogs with us, and they charged 45 CHF for ONE room to clean, which was NOT clean before! (I got enough pics of that situation!) We were charged with 248 CHF for a dirty, hot, MOULDY room, CHEAP bread in the morning, a DIRTY and DUSTY dining facility and an extremely unfriendly ”manager”. NEVER again!

The hotel and staff were brilliant. It truly exceeded my expectations. The room was lovely, pillows great ( I asked for synthetic ones) and the bed was comfortable and firm. The bathroom was lovely too. I had a huge panic after dropping my wallet in a taxi. But Sarah, one of the hotel team, was incredible. She was calm and helped me through my panic. She rang around and advised me what to do. I followed her advice and - miraculously - I found the taxi driver and my wallet. It would never have been possible without Sarah's help. Her colleague (Alf?) was also great. He was really friendly - and funny - and helpful. Nothing was a problem. The gym is a wonderful bonus and I had a good workout. I really do recommend this hotel. The location is also only 5-10 mins walk to a metro station. Thank you for my lovely stay!

Best thing about this place is without doubt the surrounding area and the beautiful exterior and grounds. The inside and dining room is like a throwback from the 1960's. It's not bad on the inside but it just completely don't suit the outside. But for the money (relatively super cheap for Switzerland) I think it's well worth it. Just for the beautiful exterior and surroundings area. Pure and utter bliss of a night. I would stay again but remember, don't expect much once you're in.
Rivage Hotel Restaurant Lutry

The treatment I received from the receptionist present on Sunday morning overshadowed everything that could have been good. When I told him that the room key didn't work, he sent me upstairs and the housekeeping opened my room and confirmed that the key wasn’t working and that it needed to be changed. I asked once more the receptionist to have a new key, but he insisted it was working good (meaning that or I was lying, or I was not able to use it). He came upstairs with me babbling that the key was working perfectly while rubbing the key on the coat only to discover that the key was not working. Complaining, he came downstairs to change the key and, instead to apology, he added that I had the check out that day and that I did not need the key anymore. From my point of view, such an arrogant and rude behavior is unacceptable in a hotel. The room was tiny, but by reading other reviews, I imagine that the lake side ones are bigger. The bed is a French size (140x200cm) and uncomfortable, and only had one duvet (160x200cm) for two guests. The hotel sells parking cards in the area. I suggest you not buy them: there is a car park two minutes walk from the hotel (Parking La Possession) which you pay from 7 am to 8 pm (it's free at night) and 4 hours cost 5.40 CHF plus 3.60 CHF for each additional hour. It only makes sense to purchase day passes if you no longer intend to touch the car between your arrival and departure. If you use it even just to go to Lausanne or Vevey, you will have to pay for the actual time of use.
