3-Star Hotels in Canton of Vaud, Switzerland

Exactly what we needed. Comfortable room and bedding, very large shower tub. The Breakfast was nice, with attention to avoid disposable material, fresh yoghurts, two coffee machines. The free Lausanne pass allowing free public transportation (and other advantages) was appreciated.

Here are the key points of my feedback: Room Setting: The view of the room is nice and antique. However, I did not quite understand why the sink were separately located at the corner of the room instead of inside the washroom. Dining Experience: My dining experience at the hotel was satisfactory. If there was hot food available in the morning, it would be much better. Amenities and Facilities: While the hotel's amenities and facilities were functional, I observed signs of wear and tear throughout the property. Investing in the upkeep and modernization of facilities could significantly enhance the overall guest experience.

As well as in this hotel I have never sleeped outside. The design is simply, just very stylish for us, exactly according to my taste. Breakfast was simple and delicious, it has everything you need to start strengthened in the day. My room was air-conditioned and I didn't get noise despite the construction site. The staff have received me very friendly from the beginning and was very helpful. I can recommend this hotel warmly and will certainly book it again at my next stay in Lausanne.

The location of The Freddie Mercury Hotel worked well for us. Despite being nearly attached to the Montreux train station, it was set back from the main road and on a quiet street in the centre. Very easy to walk everywhere in Montreux from the hotel. There is underground car parking (EUR25/night and best to request when reserving a room), but the entrance is a bit tight into the car elevator and large cars / vans would have difficulty maneuvering even in the parking garage. The quad room on the 4th floor was very spacious! A large king sized bed, plus two twins, plus a sitting area with two chairs and a small sofa. All felt very clean and like a modern “boutique” style hotel, though the shower room felt slightly too small for 4 people. (The toilet was in a separate room.) We were told there was “no AC but all the rooms are ventilated”, but it stayed cool enough with the metal electronic metal blinds down during the day so we didn’t need the AC. There’s also a desk area along the window…over looking the train tracks. Even number rooms faces the train track and odd number rooms face the lake. The hotel is a new training facility for the nearby hospitality traininig school. Hence, the more reasonable prices in an area where hotel stays can be quite pricey. Despite the “Freddie Mercury” name, it’s really more just some photo history of Freddie on the walls and not much else. Still, the hotel offers a very good value in terms of its quality and main services. Breakfast (EUR18 per adult, EUR9 per child) each morning was served until 10am. Buffet style, nothing fancy, but there was always a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, salads, cereals, yogurt, breads, croissants and whole fresh fruit. Along with hot options of eggs and hashbrowns, plus coffees, juices, and a water refill pump. We had the pleasure of meetimg Mr Zampetti, the hotel manager, and Swift, the front desk manager. Both were very professional and pleasant in sorting out an issue with one of our rooms. We loved the Montreux experience and would definitely stay at the Freddie Mercury hotel the next time we visit…for its quiet yet convenient location, its value for money, and for the courtesy of its staff.

I went out to Lake Geneva, not too far from the train station, walking distance, good location and good conditions, the only downside was that breakfast was not provided, I originally booked for two nights because I changed the schedule and temporarily cancelled one

The location of the hotel is very convenient. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. The parking lot is right next to the hotel. There are also special discounts for hotel guests. The front desk service was very nice. They gave me a transportation card to facilitate transportation in the city and a welcome drink coupon. The hotel style is very morden, but the room is small, suitable for business travel.

We stayed in Nyon during our tour of Switzerland. It's super nice little town on the shore of lake Geneva. We loved the atmosphere there, especially in the old town. We chose the B&B to sleep for budgetary reason but let tell you, we were very surprised by the quality of the hotel. Very cozy lobby with a terrace and a TV area, nice comfy rooms with real AC (the first one we encounter in Switzerland) and of course a wonderful team! Those guys are always smiling ! Cherry on the cake, the parking was free ! Trust me this makes the difference, in Geneva we had to pay CHF 35.- per day!

We were charged with 248 CHF for a dirty, hot, MOULDY room, CHEAP bread in the morning, a DIRTY and DUSTY dining facility and an extremely unfriendly ”manager”. NEVER again! The hotel is a new training facility for the nearby hospitality traininig school. Hence, the more reasonable prices in an area where hotel stays can be quite pricey. The Hotel was our base for an escorted tour on the Golden pass train. What a wonderful location, our room was extremely spacious and wonderful views of the surrounding area. Exceptional restaurant staff very hard working,if there was a down side I'm afraid there wasn't a lot of choice in our evening meals.Our room was serviced every day and was spotless. Remember in Switzerland it's a different plug adapter not the usual European, we purchased ours before we went and took our travel kettle. These were available to loan from restaurant with a deposit which is returned at the end of the holiday. We went to many different experiences, Gueyer cheese factory, chocolate factory ,Interlaken, Bern,Montreux to name a few but our highlights were Glassier 3000 spectacular views especially over the bridge with excellent café. But the top of the list was The Golden pass train, wow from Chateau-D'oex to Interlaken one day then Chateau-D'oex to Montreux, the last journey the carriage was classed as Belle Epoqe.Another couple of tips in resort there is a local supermarket in town but don't forget you're in Switzerland so it's a 10 minute walk uphill depending on how you walk. Also the film star David Niven had a home there and is buried in the local Cemetery. Chateau-D'oex is renowned for hot air ballooning and the orbiter is in the town. All in all a spectacular Golden holiday

We were there at the end of August for 2 nights and were very satisfied. Beautiful hotel, great room with view of the Geneva lake. The dinner on the terrace was excellent, service very friendly. The hotel is very well accessible with the ÖV, 2 minutes to bus 211 (direct to the Vevey train station) or 2 minutes to the Funi, genial. And directly next to the hotel a 24-hour store 'Ma petite épicerie'.

I'm giving this place 5 stars cuz I thought the place was excellent but I would also give 5 stars to a four seasons so it's hard to differentiate. This is an older hotel for anyone who might care. I had no problem with this but maybe you the reader do. The shower stall I thought was a bit small. That being said would happily stay here again. And while some of the things are old, they still worked and worked well and I appreciate building things to last. The people we spoke to were nice. There's a cart of instant coffee/tea outside on each floor which I thought was super helpful. The breakfast was just good, not the best. The best breakfast I've had in Switzerland goes to the focus hotel in zermatt. But can't really compare when you look at pricing, and again, would happily eat here again. Would like to try dinner actually and would have except our second day was a Sunday. Beach access was nice, and they have beach towels to borrow.

The room is not big or small, and the single room is quite comfortable for one person. There are many windows and the scenery outside the small window is also good. When checking in, Miss Sister also sent a glass of wine, which was very ritual. It was very tired when looking for a hotel, because it was a climb, but it was very easy from the hotel to the pier (downhill), and it was also very good to walk all the way to the lake, and enjoy the scenery along the lake to the pier. The uncle who checked out the next morning was also enthusiastic. In addition to the price is a bit high, it is a good choice.

The location is amazing - literally right above the metro station and arrive at the front door in less than 30 seconds. We’ve stayed here for 4 nights and the receptionist we have met are super nice - one of them even guided us to the kitchen to microwave our dinner. Two things we wanted to point out - 1) We had some formal clothes that required ironing, however, the ironing board in room is stored beneath the table and obviously gets super dirty and dusty. At the end we had to iron on the table with a towel on. 2) The housekeeping lady would come knock on our room every morning at 10 to check if we need cleaning or not. One day we told them yes we do need cleaning and would be leaving the room in 30mins. At 3:30pm when we got back to our room, no cleaning was done and yet the cleaning lady came and said either cleaning now or not. We found it quite confusing and disorganised.

A perfectly fine hotel with a hotel staff that spoke English well. We had a good stay and for the price it was amazing with the metro really close. The stay even included a public travel pass for going to and from the downtown city. The hotel is a bit special in that it actually is a patient hotel with people staying with newborns and people being in the hospital. So we were s bit in doubt of how that worked and if we even welcome. But we stayed there for 2 nights and had a great time the vibe is just a bit odd and we felt out of place. The breakfast included gluten-free options and was great. The hotel has a fine restaurant that was adequate and at a good price. The restaurant staff didn't speak much English so with a bit of help and Google translate it went fine and with a little knowledge of French it will go fine. Was a bit weird that even when they knew we mostly spoke English and German then those waiters didn't serve us but only the once that knew other languages. We had an amazing stay in Lausanne but felt a bit out of place.

A lovely hotel, situated conveniently just 5 min walk away from the lake and a bus stop into the city center - hotel provides free transportation ticket! Rooms are updated and clean. Staff is super friendly all you need is ask. We asked for extra pillows, boom extra pillows in the room :-) Breakfast is simply, but plentiful. Have stayed before and will stay again.

Very good location with metro next door. The room, while quirky, was claustrophobic as you couldn't swing a cat in it. Thankfully, we didn't come to Lausanne to spend our time in a hotel room! Check-in and check-out staff were very friendly as was the chap from Andalusia on the rooftop bar. We didn't bother with the 15 euro per person breakfast and got coffee/pastries from the nearby Migros for a fraction of the price. Appeals much more to a younger crowd (my wife and I are in our 40s but are still young at heart). All told, not bad value for money but I would probably stay in a more traditional establishment next time.

Thank you Hotelcard for smart hotel experience . The Crystal hotel is right at Coop City in Lausanne . The room and the shower room are spacious . Beds are Neat and clean . The owner is very generous , welcome drinks with free coffee and tea on 5th floor . I do not think that all the rooms are the same. For the price I paid , I am satisfy .

A fantastic experience from Checkin to Checkout ! Great support at Checkin from Padmila from Mexico & Francois from Switzerland, with both information on the local area and help with our luggage. They could not have done more to support our stay from supplying a Montreux Riviera Card for free transport locally and discounts on attractions to a couple of Euro to Swiss mains adaptors for the room. The room itself was at the top of the hotel and accessible via stairs for part of the way, but the views of the mountains and the lake were superb. Breakfast was of a continental style, but reasonably priced for a Swiss hotel. We also enjoyed eating on one of the nights in the adjoining restaurant which offers good Italian food including some nice dishes such as Arancini for starters and Spaghetti all Vongole (Clams) for a main course. The cocktails were also great here ! Most of Montreux is walkable, although the trolley buses were easy to navigate and included in the card supplied. Would we go back to this hotel if visiting Montreux again, 100% yes we would !

This Hotel is a sort of superior Backpacker hostel with a very good restaurant. Half the rooms have a shared bathroom, half have own bathroom. Our (own bathroom) room was a bit shabby, not renovated. The outstanding feature is the location in small hamlet of chalets 1000m above Montreux with fabulous views onto lake Geneva from the extensive outside terrace. It was very quiet at night (in Autumn) The restaurant is excellent with a cosy chalet ambience and well attended though offers only a restricted menu (mainly fondues). The staff are all young and friendly. Access best by cogwheel train from Montreux which stops outside and a must do is to travel further up by train to Rochers-de Naye at 2000m with breathtaking panoramic views. Visitors are given a free travel card for duration of visit).
