The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. This stay completely exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is conveniently located very close to Tiananmen Square, just a short walk away, which makes it ideal for families traveling with young children or seniors. The room itself was also very quiet and comfortable – truly excellent. This year, I traveled with my elderly parent(s), and next time I come with my kids, I will definitely choose this hotel again.

My family loved and will miss this hotel so much and overall made our trip so memorable and wonderful. It's not a 5 star hotel though as we were looking for a good location local warm feel. Our family theme room were nice and clean with provided slippers is a really awesome thought. Staff were very helpful and the free supper every night is a plus point why you should pick this hotel. The breakfast were good too but everyday same for 8 days were a bit bored so we decided sometimes to eat out as well. They provide good food for lunch and dinner as well as the famous Beijing duck is equivalent as good as outside any restaurant yet cheap. Hotel also provides free laundry. All I can say is this hotel boss is very generous and Yes definitely will come back to stay again shall we visit Beijing in the coming future. 😁

I had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express Beijing Dongzhimen. The staff was super friendly and helpful, really taking care of all the details to make my 9-day stay super smooth. The room was spacious, spotless, and in excellent condition, with a very comfortable bed—the best sleep I’ve had in a while, thanks to how quiet and dark the room was at night. I also enjoyed a lovely view from the window. The location near Sanlitun is excellent, with plenty to do and see nearby. Breakfast was great with a wide selection and fresh options. Overall, a wonderful stay—highly recommended!

I arrived in Beijing early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised that the staff accommodated my request and checked me in at 9am. Although I didn’t get the best view, the room was clean, comfortable, and gave me the much-needed rest after a long journey. The service here truly deserves 5 stars. Every staff member I met was warm and professional, especially the front desk. I didn’t manage to get his name, but he made me feel completely at home with his thoughtful service. Even with my broken Chinese, he made communication easy and stress-free. The hotel is also at a very strategic location. It’s within walking distance to Wangfujing, and with convenient transport you can also reach major attractions like the Summer Palace. Highly recommended for anyone looking for both comfort and great service in the heart of Beijing.

Hotel in excellent location, close to shopping and MRT station. The tourist map provided by the hotel is excellent and very helpful for us ,who is first time in BJ. However, would be perfect if there is self washing and drying facilities. Also the staff at counter should have better English abilities for easy communications.

It’s near to the metro station and you can reach a lot of sites The room is very clean and comfortable (I loved the bed and the pillows), I had a room with view on wanfujing All the staff is very kind and friendly, speaks English and are at your disposal The hotel is under renovation but you don’t feel it We didn’t use the swimming pool but you can do that A very good experience

We arrived late at night and were very disappointed with our first room but the staff was very accommodating and we were moved to a better room the following day. We particularly appreciated the Assistant Front Office Manager, Vincent Ding, who was extremely courteous, addressed requests immediately and answered any and all questions during our stay. He is fluent in English and a true professional who made all the difference. In fact, if not for him we were planning to move to a different hotel. That said, I must point out that the hotel is in dire need of room renovations and they need to monitor room cleaning more closely. This common areas are very nice but the rooms themselves do not meet expectations for a 5-star Marriott hotel. We booked the most expensive rooms and they both had damaged furnishings and old carpeting; our first room had stained carpeting and some mold around the bathroom sink. On the plus side, the beds and pillows were super comfortable, the soundproofing is excellent. The location and views are amazing! You really can see the Forbidden City and the hotel is within walking distance of the Forbidden City (and other major attractions), shopping and great dining options.

It’s my second time in this hotel. The location is pretty convenient, very close to the metro station (5 mins) and to the main attractions. Everything is okay, but the rooms are not very spacious if it’s important for you. Also the window view is not the best and only half of the staff can speak English, but they are always ready to help. So it’s a nice place overall.

Getting to and Around Beijing

Beijing has two main airports: Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX). PEK handles most international and long-haul flights, while PKX is a newer hub serving both domestic and international routes.

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK): Located about 15 miles (25 km) northeast of the city centre, PEK is the busiest and most common arrival point for flights from the UK. It is well-connected to the city by the Capital Airport Express, taxis, and shuttle buses.

Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX): Situated around 29 miles (46 km) south of central Beijing, PKX is a modern airport designed to handle growing passenger numbers. Transport options include the Daxing Airport Express, intercity rail, taxis, and buses.

GGuest UserLocated at the foot of Beijing's imperial city, the Waldorf Astoria Courtyard Hotel perfectly blends traditional Beijing charm with luxurious services, creating a quiet and peaceful place for guests hidden in the bustling city. The courtyard surrounded by blue bricks and gray tiles, carved beams and painted buildings complement the contemporary art furnishings. In the morning, you can hear the sound of wind chimes on the eaves, and when you return home at night, the stone path has quietly lit up the warm yellow courtyard lights. The housekeeping team has engraved ”guests first” into the details: Ella took us in and taught us how to use the room card. From serving seasonal cakes and fruits, welcome gifts, to birthday cakes and champagne in the afternoon, Judy also prepared coffee for us, and Xiao Xiong personally brewed coffee for us. Will enthusiastically took the initiative to help us take photos and take luggage for our couple. From adjusting the fragrance of the room according to the weather to secretly recommending the best time to shoot in the corner tower for photography enthusiasts - this oriental hospitality that seems to be able to predict needs has made countless travelers sigh in their comments that ”the service is like a spring breeze, without a trace but appropriate everywhere.” When the morning light of the Forbidden City passes through the courtyard, staying here has already surpassed the accommodation experience and has become a local cultural therapy that awakens the five senses.

GGuest UserThe room was lovely, and the location was superb, offering easy access to Guijie Street and Nanluoguxiang. I was really drawn to the traditional courtyard style. The service was excellent; they were very responsive and quick to resolve any issues. My only minor complaints were that the support for the top bunk was broken when we first checked the beds, forcing multiple people to squeeze onto the other side, and the washing machine's dryer function wasn't very effective. Despite these small issues, it was a very good stay overall. There's also a rooftop worth visiting, which has a great vibe, perfect for relaxing with friends in the evening with a few drinks. They even have a cat room (though the cats mostly just sleep!).

GGuest UserUpon entering, we were immediately greeted by a refreshing tea aroma, which was incredibly uplifting. On our first day, we discovered a broken floor drain. A technician promptly arrived to fix it, and an attendant quickly mopped the area to prevent any slipping. The service was consistently excellent. Later, we realized our booking didn't include breakfast, but a staff member kindly arranged for us to have it. My grandmother was quite pleased with the hotel's breakfast, which offered a wide variety. They were incredibly responsive and efficient, always ready to assist with any request. The soundproofing was also excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. When we checked out today, we even received a souvenir. If we ever return to Beijing to visit the Forbidden City, we would definitely consider All Seasons again; branded chain hotels truly make a difference.

GGuest UserI booked Atour for my parents. The service here was absolutely fantastic – thoughtful, never intrusive, and truly heartwarming. Given my parents' advanced age, the hotel even thoughtfully provided a wheelchair for their use. My parents particularly enjoyed the breakfast and the late-night congee. Elderly guests often get hungry between meals and prefer smaller, more frequent portions, and Atour made this incredibly convenient for them. We promptly signed up for a membership. The hotel's location is superb, being extremely close to many of Beijing's attractions.

GGuest UserThe service attitude is very good. Contacting the front desk on the phone or calling the front desk at the bedside is answered quickly. The only thing is that you need a membership to watch anything with the projector. I didn't turn on the projector during the five days I stayed. It would be great if the hotel could have its own system that can be watched for free. The room is not very soundproof. If the room next door takes a shower in the bathroom, the water flow is very loud and noisy. However, when we raised this with the hotel, we were immediately given a room change. However, after changing rooms, it was still very noisy when the neighbor took a shower. When I couldn't make it back and was still at the tourist attraction, I still had the room card with me. I contacted the platform and the platform helped me contact the hotel and said I would give a deposit, and then return the card and then refund it. This is also very good. When I lost something in the room, the front desk asked the cleaning staff and they took it down immediately. It is very convenient to travel. Turn right and walk a few steps out of the hotel to the subway. If you don't take a taxi, it is very suitable to give priority to the subway. The hotel also has self-service vending machines where you can buy water, instant noodles, etc. There is also a water dispenser. There is also a smart light switch at the head of the bed, which is very convenient. The front desk and cleaning staff are very good. It was too late to eat at the barbecue restaurant on the right side of the hotel. The food didn't suit my taste and the staff were a bit rude. The photo shows the room with a window on the first night. After changing rooms, the rooms I stayed in were all windowless. However, the window is in the hallway and is not needed. If you need some fresh air, just turn on the air conditioner.

KKEN LIEWLKVery good location to go forbidden city Tiananmen Square and Line 8 QianYuHuTong Subway. Not good when we are housed to room 107 for 7 nights which is at the back yard outside the main hall. The room is very noisy as hotel guests are stepping very hard when accessing the metal stairs just right outside the room. The shower area is very slippery maybe due to soap stains not washed regularly. There is also no shower screen and water can run outside shower area and wet the whole toilet. 👎

GGuest UserExcellent location right in the middle of Wangfujing Street, close to subway and many sightseeings. Nice decor in the room and overall throughout the hotel. Great idea regarding breakfast when there is no proper breakfast – reception gives out bags with a sausage, milk, bread and other snacks (nuts, egg etc). It was a bit challenging to find the hotel as it's on the 6th floor with the entrance from a passageway. The room is pretty small and without a window. Overall, highly recommended. I'd love to stay again.

KKYUKII booked a single room without a window. People complain the room is too small, but bigger than I thought. Actually, the bathroom is quite small, and if you take a shower, the water splashes everywhere and even runs into near the bed through under the bathroom door. When I checked in the room, the bathroom was smelly from the drainage, so I needed to close the bathroom door(but the next day, the smell disappeared). Also, the AC unit seemed not properly working, so the room was a bit warm, though the corridor outside the room was cold. You need to wait for long to get hot water coming out from the shower. Even though there was a small complaint, it was very reasonable price for 1 night, the bed was comfy and had a good sleep. If you want to stay at low cost just for sleep, then I recommend this hotel.

JjxdlzkThe hotel is located very close to Beijing Railway Station and Beijing Railway Station subway station, which is an ideal location for travelers. The hotel is a B&B hotel with various room types to choose from. The hotel's sanitary conditions are OK, and there is 24-hour hot water available. The room we chose has a private bathroom. Although it is small and compact, it is still OK if we don't have many things.
