InterContinental accommodation in Shanghai

I mainly want to talk about the buffet. I purchased a room package that included two buffet meals. I was charged half price for my child, which was 119 yuan, which felt quite generous. However, judging the dining experience at 238 yuan per person, I was extremely disappointed. Both the variety and quality were truly poor. There were barely any staff members around. Is this really an InterContinental five-star hotel? On another note, the package mentioned a weekend upgrade to a river-view room subject to availability. When checking in, the front desk didn't mention anything about upgrading the room. When I proactively asked, they said there was a king-size bed room available, but no twin room. Considering I was with a child, I decided against it. I then asked if a meal could be complimentary, and the front desk's response implied that the package was already very cheap and that room upgrades weren't mandatory... While their point might be valid, couldn't they have phrased it differently? It's not like I bought it from them directly.

Stayed here again during the Spring Festival. The festive atmosphere was wonderful, and the hotel had various activities for guests. All the staff, from those around the hotel to the housekeeping team, greeted us with smiles, answered all our questions, and were always ready to assist, making us feel relaxed and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was also very rich, and the service was attentive and thorough. This time, I stayed on the 20th floor, and the central air conditioning was a bit too powerful – it was too hot, so I had to keep the window open. I felt that some of the hotel facilities were a bit dated. The hotel is very close to the subway station, making transportation convenient. The food street in the basement of the surrounding shopping mall was also excellent, really great. I'll definitely choose InterContinental Shanghai Pudong Tangchen again in the future.

Overall, this hotel offers a great experience and feels like good value for money. Its convenient location makes getting around easy, suitable for both business and leisure travelers. The rooms are clean, tidy, and well-arranged, providing a comfortable and quiet stay. The staff are friendly and responsive, which is reassuring. The breakfast selection is diverse and caters to various tastes. The facilities are comprehensive, covering all daily needs. On the whole, attention to detail is evident, with no major downsides. If I have future travel plans, I would definitely prioritize staying at this hotel again.

This business trip, I stayed at the InterContinental Jing'an, and Chime's service was truly delightful. When checking in, she noticed I looked tired and deliberately slowed down her speech to patiently explain the facilities, even kindly noting down a late checkout for me. We booked the planetarium-themed room, and the decor was pretty good; the kids absolutely loved it! The terrace even had a telescope. The wall outlets in the room were broken, but the hotel provided an extension cord and a small apology gift, so overall, we were still quite satisfied. The service at the hotel restaurant and in the lobby was excellent. The only downside was that the pool was a bit cold; we hope they can improve that. The platform also offered a free travel photoshoot. This is our second time collaborating with Yiqi Photography, and their photography and service are both excellent. The free package included a video and retouched photos, so overall, we were quite satisfied.

Western options included waffles, mini muffins, and various breads. 7-8 kinds of fresh and delicious fruits. 🛏️ **Bedding**: The pillows provided good support, and the duvet was light, breathable, warm but not stifling. 🍸 **Food & Drinks**: The first round of mini-bar drinks included Sprite, Coke, soda water, and tonic water. The complimentary in-room fruit, turndown snacks, and picnic basket were all thoughtfully prepared, giving you a sense of being a valued guest, as if they were worried you wouldn't eat well or enough. 🪩 **Performance**: The cliff light and shadow show + drone show can be enjoyed from your room while you eat. 🎡 **In-house Entertainment**: The hotel's internal swimming pool, flyboarding, and water guns. 📸 **Travel Photography Service**: This depends on the weather that day, and the photographer's output and post-production quality. Of course, don't assume that just because it's a professional shoot, you don't need to pay attention to your clothes and styling; aesthetics are, after all, a two-way street.

Taking advantage of the good weather this weekend, I brought my parents for a nostalgic trip to see old mansions. We chose to stay at the InterContinental Ruijin Hotel this time. The hotel's location is superb, right in the heart of the Huaihai Road commercial area, and it's a short walk to Sinan Mansions, Fuxing Park, and Tianzifang. As soon as we entered the lobby, we were captivated by the giant crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It looked even more beautiful when lit up at night. The InterContinental's service was excellent as always, and we checked in very quickly. We booked a two-bedroom family suite in the main building, which features two bedrooms, a living room, and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has a 1.9-meter king-size bed, the second bedroom has two 1.35-meter double beds, and the living room has a two-seater sofa and a single armchair. The room included four executive lounge privileges, so after dropping off our luggage, we headed straight to the executive lounge for afternoon tea. The executive lounge also has that 'old money' vibe, perfect for photos. For dinner, we could either dine in the executive lounge or pay an additional 99 RMB to eat at 'Lounge 99' Western Restaurant. We opted for the latter as it offered more variety, including complimentary langoustine and West Lake vinegar fish (yellow croaker), making it quite a good deal. After afternoon tea, we took a stroll through the hotel garden. It was lush and green, and the spring breeze blowing through the leaves felt especially gentle. The sun also turned warm, and the green leaves cradled delicate, dew-kissed flowers. In the gentle breeze, the flowers swayed softly, looking somewhat shy.
