Such a lovely hostel to stay. The owner is very friendly. If you’re looking for a place that offers nature and rest, only 10 minutes away from Kyoto station. This is your place
Even in the time zone before check-in, I was able to guide the parking lot comfortably.
Breakfast was also served with various bread and drinks and I could spend the morning slowly because I was able to eat in the room.
Hotel location should be the biggest advantage, about five minutes walk from the river Basaka Station. The hotel staff is very professional and welcoming.
The hotel's breakfast is a traditional Japanese rice side dish, simple but the taste is quite satisfactory. Other aspects are standard business hotels, if you are on a business trip, you can choose.
The location is excellent. Especially in the morning, Lake Biwa is a place you want to look at forever. If you are staying for multiple nights, you can choose whether or not you want your room cleaned, and the customer service is polite. Meals are served buffet style, and I had curry rice.
I was surprised to come to Kashiwara without any information. The history here goes back to the Edo period.
This is a Japanese-style house. The courtyard and plants are beautiful, and the rooms are clean and herb-scented.
It feels so good to look at the garden while drinking tea in the rain.
・Good points
It's close to Otsu Station, so I was able to get there without getting lost even though I'm directionally challenged
They had relaxing wear, makeup remover, face wash, lotion, milky lotion, etc.
The prices were reasonable and it was easy to use
・Points to improve
The shower room, toilet, and sink are shared, so there were signs of other people using them, so I would like them to clean more frequently.

RRoger MichaelOk. First of all leave your expectations at home expecting hotel level service. Once you've done that if you want a cheap but clean place to stay this is it. This is a seinenkan - a facility for youth and youth-related organizations to conduct independent study and recreational activities, many of which have basic accommodation facilities but higher grade facilities than youth hostels. They are located all over Japan. I stayed in a tatami mat room on a floor with shared toilet facilities. The ground floor has a large communal bath - obviously separate for male and females. They have lights out at 11 p.m. and guests must return by the same time. There is a very modern cafe onsite serving cheap breakfasts (see photos) but the cafe closes by 6 p.m. There is a convenience store 10 minutes walk away so I suggest you buy snacks and beverages en route from JR Ishiyama station. For dinner, there is a family restaurant - good value and okay food - about 6 minutes walk away.
The seinenkan is located on a small island by a historic bridge. The views of the river inlet flowing into the main Lake Biwa is relaxing, lots of bird wildlife, and lots of rowers (the seinenkan is a water sports facility too). and the sunrise and sunset views are lovely.
The staff are very kind. It cost me ¥5,500 for one night and I will stay there again if I have the opportunity.
TTimentoDiverNestled in the heart of Konan, Hotel Sun Crest is a poetic haven. Its location, adorned with 4 stars, unveils a serene canvas in Iwanechuo. Cleanliness, a masterpiece, claims 4.5 stars, each corner brushed with meticulous care. The staff's charm, akin to a subtle melody, earns a modest 4 stars, adding a harmonious note to the sojourn. A symphony of value echoes with 4.5 stars, a fusion of quality and affordability. The facilities, a choreography of comfort, dance gracefully with 4.5 stars, creating an opulent performance.
Amidst this artistic tapestry, the breakfast tableau is a radiant 5-star spectacle, a crescendo of flavors. However, stealing the spotlight is the spacious single occupancy room—a sanctuary of tranquility. Hotel Sun Crest, an aesthetic voyage, invites patrons to savor the blend of practicality and allure in the heart of Konan.
GGuest UserGreat option for visiting the Shirahige Shrine. The host offered a ride in the early morning after knowing we were planning to go, which was extremely kind of him.
Room was very spacious and clean, with a nice view. Very close to the station and easy to find.
The only thing I would note is that there was only one bath. We arrived around 830pm and planned to take the bath shortly, but by the time we settled and got downstairs (around 9pm), someone else was using it so we couldn't get in until after 930. It was a shame that we couldn't enjoy the hot bath as much as we wanted as we tried to hurry out for the next group since they were waiting after us but I'm not sure if they were able to use it as the bath closes at 10pm.
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at this place. The staff was amazing and the place was super clean. We were on a bikepacking trip and they even allowed us to bring our bikes into the room, which was very convenient. The Nepalese chef deserves special mention for preparing amazing food for us. Overall, it was a truly amazing experience and we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfortable and enjoyable accommodation.
GGuest UserVery nice room, very good service, very good breakfast.
The fly in the ointment is that the shading of the room is not very good, and friends who care about it can prepare an eye mask.
In addition, it is best to communicate the check-in time before check-in, so as not to eat closed doors

AAnonymous UserTraditional Japanese-style residence, tatami room, homestay, Chinese person in charge. You can stroll around the lake. Sound insulation is not good. Consciously keep quiet and normal work and rest. Don't disturb others.

KKitVery nice. The owner is very nice and helpful. He is able to speak English. Moreover, the private Onsen room is really impressive. Hope I can go next time.
