Shenzhen surprises anyone expecting the typical Asian chaos. Since the city was built practically from scratch in just a few decades, everything was planned to be modern from the very beginning. There are wide avenues, spacious pavements, and completely flat terrain, which makes walking around very pleasant, even if you are travelling with children or elderly people.

Highly recommended! This is a classic five-star hotel in Futian CBD, perfect for exhibition-goers. I chose this hotel because I was going to Hong Kong 🇭🇰, and it was so convenient! It's just a 100-meter walk to Futian Railway Station, and the subway is also easily accessible. My child really wanted to take the subway, so we went to Hong Kong. The two round trips were really unpleasant. This place is part of China, yet you have to put up with the attitudes of the people there; they look so impatient, as if we mainlanders owe them something. Without our mainland fish, how would your economy grow? I'll never go there again. Shenzhen is much better, with great food and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was good too 👍. Seeing Hong Kong people coming to Shenzhen to spend money, it makes you realize how much more affordable the mainland is. A bowl of noodles in Hong Kong costs over a hundred, and everything is expensive. I'll definitely come back to Shenzhen for food, drinks, and fun. Happy! It's been a while since I brought my family to stay at the Four Seasons Shenzhen. On the day of check-in, Max contacted me and enthusiastically arranged for us to check in directly at the Executive Lounge on the 29th floor, which felt very welcoming! He also helped upgrade us to a suite on the 30th floor and thoughtfully arranged a small bed and a little tent for the child. Previously, he made a personalized key card for me, which I still carry. This time, he made a cute bear-themed key card for my child with her name printed on it, and she absolutely loved it! I've also stayed at the Four Seasons in Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Beijing before, and they were all excellent! But I feel a special connection to the Four Seasons Shenzhen; every time I come back, it feels like returning home. Perhaps this is the true essence of a top-tier hotel. The Executive Lounge has seen some changes; breakfast is now served as a set menu, which is quite good. They prepare just enough portions for the number of guests, which is quite eco-friendly. I feel the entire hotel has a very strong environmental consciousness, including the packaging of toothpaste and the wooden toothbrushes, etc. APEC Shenzhen is coming up soon, and the Four Seasons should be the official hotel, meeting very international standards. The Bose sound system in the room is also a nice touch. The Executive Lounge experience was great this time; the supervisor, Cecilie, was very warm, and Chadi even came over personally to greet my family during dinner, which was a pleasant surprise. This was my first stay at the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel, and honestly, it was a mixed bag – some good, some not so good. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were excellent, very friendly and helpful. However, the staff at the entrance and the bellhops were quite disappointing. They weren't proactive in assisting guests, and for a hotel, the first impression often comes from the entrance staff. This really detracted from my overall experience. The front desk staff were polite and said everything was fine, but the baggage handlers were truly awful. On the positive side, the dim sum at the restaurant was exceptional. So, if I ever consider staying here again, I'll definitely have to think long and hard about it. I honestly don't understand how a five-star hotel can have such a stark difference in service quality. Facilities: The room was spacious enough with a direct sea view. As a Diamond member, I got an upgrade to a premium sea view room on the 10th floor. Below was the yacht club's pier, with the InterContinental to the left and Dameisha Beach to the right. I used points and got it for 600 a night, including breakfast for two. We also got to use the InterContinental's beach, loungers, and other facilities, but saved a whopping 1200 a night compared to staying at the InterContinental – what a steal! It's so much better than hotels in Hong Kong!
Environment: Downstairs, there's Outlets No. 8 and a drone delivery locker, which was cool to try out. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby, very convenient.
Hygiene: Clean.
Service: Excellent. We arrived early on a Monday afternoon and were able to check in ahead of time. There were so many activities – sushi making, dancing, pool parties – the kids couldn't keep up, so they just went to the beach for a bit.
Note: There's no self-service laundry room; you can only hand wash and air dry clothes on the balcony. I wouldn't recommend booking this place in winter due to the laundry inconvenience.FromSGD 160

I especially want to praise the Executive Lounge team – Via, Yulia, Emily, and David – for their warm and attentive service. The room is quite spacious, and the bedding is excellent. The sheets and pillows are very comfortable, so I slept exceptionally well. Getting a good night's sleep in a hotel is very important, and this is high praise indeed. The hotel's decor is stylish, making you feel relaxed the moment you walk in. Breakfast deserves a special mention; the variety is rich, and the taste is unparalleled. The Cantonese breakfast was delicious, and the egg rolls and eggs Benedict were also very good. The only downside is that if you go late for breakfast, you might have to queue, but there are plenty of seats, so even if there's a line, it moves quickly. The coffee and tea at breakfast are also excellent. Freya, Winky, and Monuca at the front desk are very thoughtful. They genuinely care if you're enjoying your stay and promptly address any issues that arise during check-in.
The front desk for check-in is on the 33rd floor with a great view. The executive lounge is a nice place to relax and unwind. Afternoon tea consists of two types of cake and some beverages. Dinner is relatively simple but has everything you need, including a noodle bar, which shows a good effort. Overall, the stay was very comfortable, and I would choose this hotel again if I return.
However, there are three minor drawbacks I must mention:
1. One side of the hotel faces a large construction site, so the view isn't great. There's not much the hotel can do about this, as it's already well-maintained, but the surrounding environment does detract a bit. Perhaps future stays could compensate for this view deficit.
2. Light leaks from one side of the curtains, which can slightly affect sleep.
3. For such a high-end hotel, the complimentary water was Nongfu Spring with a red cap. While Nongfu Spring is good, I feel an upgrade to the water would be more fitting.
Hygene: The cleaning was very detailed and thorough. The cleaning staff were all smiles and greeted me warmly, which put me in a good mood.
Service: Whether it was the concierge on the first floor or the staff in the executive lounge/breakfast restaurant, everyone was incredibly friendly and made me feel very comfortable.FromSGD 181

We arrived at St Regis after a red-eye flight, and was welcomed by staff Crystal Lieu.
As we are not very well versed in Chinese, Crystal was a gem as she is able to converse in English very well. We feel very taken care of during our stay.

The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the golf course, and the large bathtub on the balcony was great for a soak in the evening. However, I didn't dare use it during the day due to a lack of privacy. Golf hotels generally tend to be less crowded, quiet, and safe, guaranteeing good room and dining quality. On the downside, the complimentary snacks in the minibar seemed unhealthy. Also, the 100 RMB dining voucher required a minimum spend of 200 RMB, which wasn't ideal; it would have been better not to offer it at all. Perhaps because the air conditioning in the room and throughout the hotel was set quite high, there was a damp smell when I first entered the room, and the air purifier wasn't working. In the morning, since the room was above the restaurant, I could actually smell faint cooking odors on the balcony, instead of the natural scent of the grass, which was a bit disappointing. Sometimes, the noise from the lawnmowers was quite loud. The hotel lobby bar had some real books for quiet reading, which was a nice touch. The location of the hotel is just perfect! 2 minutes of a walking distance to the Sea World. The room was clean. And the laundry service was available as well. Personally, I used the iron and the ironing board. But there were some disappointing facts about the shower cabin. The water pours and leaks out of the cabin which makes the floor so wet, so no towels can help, and I had to collect it with my slippers apparently. And there was shampoo in the shampoo and conditioner containers both which means I just washed my head twice. I’d recommend the hotel stuff mind these details. This stay was a disappointment because the hotel pool, which I specifically wanted to experience, was completely unusable for various reasons. It rained continuously for all three days of our stay due to bad weather, and on one day, an orange rainstorm warning was even issued. On top of that, my daughter inexplicably developed a fever on the first night. Although the hotel was very thoughtful and arranged a late check-out on the last day, my daughter hadn't fully recovered. Even when the rain stopped, the sky remained gloomy, and I didn't dare let her swim, which made this trip quite unpleasant. If I couldn't use the hotel pool, I definitely wouldn't have chosen this hotel to celebrate a birthday.
The hotel is located right next to Exit C of Overseas Chinese Town Metro Station, with only a short open-air section. However, if you're pushing a stroller, you need to be extra careful as there are a few steps along the way where you'll have to lift it. To get to the nearest Yitian Holiday Plaza, you need to take one stop to Window of the World, which is a bit inconvenient.
What I liked:
Simple birthday decorations were provided.
Room Quality and Design: The room was spacious and comfortable with a bathtub, and the lighting was easy to adjust. I particularly liked the reading/night light design next to the bed, which was very practical. (It would be even better if disposable bath liners/bags were provided, like in other hotels.)
Excellent Service Attitude: The front desk team provided excellent service, they were friendly and always smiling. I especially want to praise the male staff member in charge of the carousel; he performed magic tricks and managed the facility, all with a very kind service attitude!
Recreational Facilities: The outdoor playground and carousel facilities at the hotel were excellent, and my children had a wonderful time!
Areas for Improvement:
Room Amenities and Facilities: After the room was cleaned, the tea bags were not replenished. For a hotel of your caliber, the attention to detail in amenities is clearly lacking. Additionally, only instant coffee was provided in the room, with no coffee machine or milk, which is slightly inferior compared to other hotels in the same chain (such as Marriott or The OCT Harbour, Shenzhen – Blue Lagoon).
Fruit Quality Control: One of the apples in the welcome fruit platter in the room was rotten to the core when cut open. I hope the hotel can strengthen quality checks before delivering items to rooms to ensure fresh produce is provided!
Insufficient Bed Space: The double bed was relatively narrow, making it quite cramped for one adult and a 10-year-old child to sleep together, severely affecting sleep quality.
Overly Thick Mattress: The mattress thickness was a bit exaggerated, making the bed surface too high and very inconvenient for getting in and out of bed.
Facility Safety and Hygiene: In the small indoor building block playroom next to the outdoor playground, the blocks were slightly worn. I even found instances where the outer layer of some blocks had peeled off, exposing sharp wooden edges, which is very dangerous. During our two-day summer family trip, both my 3-year-old and 13-year-old kids enjoyed a packed schedule of activities and kept exclaiming that they wanted to come back! At check-in, the front desk provided a summer activity guide, and we basically checked off every activity and were very satisfied. The hotel is huge with lots of activities, and different areas have play zones with corresponding rest areas, making the kids happy and the adults comfortable. The staff were very enthusiastic in providing directions, which I greatly appreciate.
They take 'water safety first' very seriously. There are staff members present at both the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the beach, to provide guidance. For instance, staff at the beach would prevent people from getting too close to the water outside of operating hours.
The children's amenities and birthday decorations I requested in advance were all pleasantly arranged, adding a wonderful memory to our trip.

Even though we encountered a typhoon and it rained constantly, I'm glad we chose this resort hotel. The hotel won't get boring because of bad weather; it has several ball pits, a swimming pool, and a gym, so both adults and kids can have a great time. The hotel's guest relations manager added me on WeChat a day in advance and helped book activities that required reservations, so there was no need to worry about food, drinks, or entertainment. The hotel also prepared a bathtub liner, so I could enjoy a relaxing bath. The only downside was a musty smell, common in Guangdong's weather and being close to the sea. The room was cleaned daily by dedicated staff, with impeccable hygiene control. The entire room was spotless, clean, and comfortable. The butler service was highly responsive and efficient; when I needed cutlery, it was delivered to the room instantly, which was very thoughtful. Every evening, I like to relax with a bath. The bathtub was clean and odorless. After a tiring day of travel, a hot bath washed away all the fatigue. Downstairs, there's direct access to Mui Wah Bing Tang, offering authentic Hong Kong-style food readily available and delicious, making dining out extremely convenient.
What surprised me most was the location: the hotel is seamlessly connected to Grand Century Place, and Mong Kok East Station is right outside. Taking the MTR to major popular spots like Ocean Park, Disneyland, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Causeway Bay was a breeze, with no need to worry about transportation. In Hong Kong, where space is at a premium, the rooms are spacious and wide, providing maximum comfort, suitable for both family trips and solo travelers.
Two small, heartwarming suggestions for the hotel's improvement:
Currently, the cutlery and bowls provided are a bit small. It was slightly inconvenient when I occasionally cooked Samyang Buldak noodles at night. If larger instant noodle bowls could be added, it would better cater to the needs of young guests. Also, if a stainless steel caddy could be installed on the bathtub, allowing for a glass of wine, aromatherapy, or a book while bathing, the ambiance and experience would be even better.

For its price, the hotel's location, service, and facilities are all excellent. I stayed in a newly renovated twin room on the 16th floor this time, which had one double bed and one single bed. The location is incredibly convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the MTR station. The room size is definitely decent for Hong Kong; don't compare it to mainland hotel standards or luxury hotels in Hong Kong. Compared to other hotels in the same price range, it's absolutely great.
I arrived around 11 PM. Due to the hotel's eco-friendly policy, toiletries aren't provided for free, but you can purchase them at the front desk. A small reusable pouch containing a two-person set costs HKD 20, which I found both cost-effective and convenient.
The biggest highlight, which I must recommend and is perfect for tourists, is that my room with two beds had three bedside tables. Each table had power sockets and USB ports, and one even had wireless charging – incredibly convenient! The quality of the slippers provided in the room was also good. The large window offered a bright street view, and the desk, over a meter long, was great for placing belongings.
I'm very grateful to the lovely lady at the front desk who upgraded me to this newly renovated room when she saw I arrived late at 11 PM. The cleaning lady, Chang Dandan, was also fantastic; she promptly helped me with any requests. Both were very warm and had excellent attitudes.
Overall, this was a great stay. I actually read some negative reviews about cleanliness and drainage issues, but I didn't encounter any. The water pressure and drainage were both excellent, and the room was clean and hygienic. They provided two alcohol wipes for disinfection, the bedding and towels were dry, and the air conditioning worked perfectly with no noise even on low fan speed. As a very light sleeper, I slept really well. I won't upload photos of my room since I messed it up, but the public areas were clean and bright, as you can see from a couple of photos I took. Also, I recommend Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ on the first floor of the Miramar Shopping Centre opposite the hotel – it's delicious!FromSGD 124

I forgot to take pictures of the room... It's a bit of a walk from Sha Tin Wai MTR station, about ten minutes, but the hotel itself is surrounded by many restaurants, making it easy to find food.
The hotel seems quite old, and some facilities show their age. The air conditioning is very noisy. Although I booked a double bed, it was actually just two soft single mattresses pushed together. The pillows were also very flat and soft, making it difficult to sleep. Adjusting the water temperature in the shower was a bit tricky.
Even without putting up the 'please clean' sign, towels were exchanged daily.
