Hotels in Xidan and Financial Street Area, Beijing

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel is new, very clean, and in an excellent location. The laundry service was outstanding, and the staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. However, I had one very disappointing experience. During my stay, the police visited the hotel and asked about the purpose of our visit, and we fully cooperated. Later that night, around 11:00 PM, they came back again while my children were asleep, only to ask for my phone number. This frightened my children and caused unnecessary stress. I have traveled extensively in China and had already spent several weeks in Beijing and Shanghai without experiencing anything like this, so this was very surprising and upsetting. To be fair, the hotel staff sincerely apologized and explained that this situation was beyond their control and related to the local authorities. As a thoughtful gesture, they also offered us a gift and a complimentary late check-out, which we really appreciated. Despite this unfortunate incident, the hotel itself is excellent—clean, modern, comfortable, and well-maintained. I would still recommend staying here. Thank you 💜

I chose this downtown hotel for my business trip, and the location was fantastic – right next to the subway station. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and they even proactively upgraded me to a high-floor room with a view. The room was clean and tidy, the desk was spacious enough, and the WiFi was stable. Breakfast offered a good mix of Western and Chinese options, and the coffee was decent. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning was a bit noisy at night, but overall, it offered great value for money, and I'd definitely stay here again.

1) The location is great if you’re looking for a real “Beijing experience” as it’s a boutique hotel in the Hutongs. We wandered around the Xicheng neighbourhood which we would never have done otherwise. 2) easy access via taxi and metro 3) plenty of shops and restaurants around but it’s very quiet at night 4) the staff speaks very little English but they are super nice and helpful. We communicated through translating apps and had no issues (they even helped us to book tickets) 4) Because it’s a small boutique hotel, the breakfast options are limited (especially if like us you don’t eat pork), but you always had eggs and a few sweet things so no issue but something to be aware of Overall had a great stay!

My overall stay was a delightful surprise! The location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and shopping. The hotel's ambiance is elegant and clean, with a simple yet stylish decor that creates a wonderful atmosphere. My room was tidy and bright, well-laid out, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful and restful sleep. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and polite, always responding promptly and thoughtfully. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious local dishes, and the facilities were comprehensive and well-maintained. It offers incredible value for money, making it perfect for both leisure and business travelers. Highly recommended!

It was my dad's birthday during our stay, and the staff thoughtfully prepared a cake for him, which alone earns them a big thumbs up! 🥰👍 The hotel's dry cleaning service was also excellent and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options. The location is superb, within walking distance to Xidan (Hanguang Department Store and Freshippo) and Xuanwumen Station. There was a minor incident on the first morning: I saw a creamy scrambled egg at the omelet station (pictured) and asked the staff there to make it for me, but she replied, ”What creamy scrambled egg? I only have regular scrambled eggs.” 😅 Also, I'm not sure why there were so many cabinets in the room that we didn't use at all; it felt like a lot of wasted space. It would be better if they could streamline that. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Beijing!

Traveling to Beijing, the hotel has a superior location and convenient transportation. It is especially easy to find. There is a bus just outside the door. It is very close to the attractions. I booked a special room, and the staff helped to upgrade the room to a better light. The front desk lady was enthusiastic and really responsive. There is no elevator in the hotel. I brought a very large suitcase, and the staff took the initiative to help move it to the room. There is also a restaurant in the hotel. I only had breakfast when I was in a hurry. I can try dinner next time. It is really small but complete. It is worth recommending 👍

Although Beijing XinYuan Hotel is not a newly built property, it is well-maintained and continues to meet the standards of an official 5-star hotel. The hotel offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness centre, a complimentary self-service laundry room and several restaurants, making it suitable for both leisure and family travellers. The hotel is not located within the main tourist district and most major attractions are some distance away. However, this is not a significant inconvenience because the nearest metro station is within walking distance. Travelling by metro is straightforward and convenient while taxi or ride hailing services can usually reach most popular attractions within about 1 hour, depending on traffic conditions. One notable advantage is that the hotel has front desk staff who are able to communicate in English. This makes the check in process and general enquiries much easier for international visitors who do not speak Mandarin. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM. In practice, if the buffet has been prepared before the official opening time, guests are generally allowed to start dining slightly earlier. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of dishes with an emphasis on traditional Chinese cuisine. The menu changes slightly each day, providing some variety for guests staying several nights. The dining area also includes automatic coffee machines and tea beverage dispensers, allowing guests to prepare drinks quickly and conveniently. Guest rooms are well equipped with essential amenities. Complimentary bottled drinking water, tea bags and instant coffee are replenished daily. Standard toiletries are provided including toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, razors and other necessities, allowing travellers to pack lightly. The beds are comfortable and provide good support for a restful night's sleep. The bathroom has strong water pressure and a reliable hot water supply that remains stable even during extended use. The air conditioning system performs well and maintains a comfortable indoor temperature. Each room is also equipped with a humidifier, which is particularly useful during Beijing's dry climate and helps improve sleeping comfort, especially for families with children. Overall, Beijing XinYuan Hotel offers excellent value for travellers seeking comfortable accommodation with complete facilities, reliable service and convenient transport connections. While it is not situated beside the city's main attractions, its easy access to the metro network and reasonable travelling time by taxi make it a practical and enjoyable base for exploring Beijing.

I'm a traveler from Xinjiang. After a long flight to Beijing, I was looking forward to checking into the hotel for a good rest, as I needed to go to the Children's Hospital near the hotel the next day. However, during check-in, I realized my child's birth certificate was missing – I suspected I'd left it in the taxi. I instantly panicked. The hotel staff, Xin Yi, immediately noticed my distress. She quickly came over to calm me down and promptly helped me retrieve information and contact Didi customer service. The communication process was quite difficult, but she patiently and repeatedly verified details like the time of the ride, location, and car appearance. She continuously followed up, and finally managed to contact the driver, who confirmed the birth certificate was in the car and would be returned. While I was waiting, she kept gently reassuring me and offered me hot tea. I was incredibly touched when I got my child's certificate back. During my stay, Xin Yi thoughtfully prepared directions to Beijing Children's Hospital and recommended local specialty snacks. The laundry room attendant also proactively helped me dry my clothes, folded them neatly, and delivered them back to my room. There were many other thoughtful small touches. When I checked out, Xin Yi even gave me a Tiananmen Square magnet as a souvenir. Atour S Beijing, for me, is more than just a place to stay; it's a tangible feeling of warmth and reassurance in an unfamiliar city. Thank you, Xin Yi, and thank you to all the hotel staff.

As a foreign traveler, my experience at this hotel was fantastic. The staff were warm and friendly. I bought a watermelon, and the front desk not only helped me cut it but also provided plates. Even after checking out, I ordered a takeaway cake. The delivery person brought it to the front desk, and the kind gentleman at the front desk thoughtfully stored it in the fridge for me until I could pick it up. The environment is also very good, and the overall service made me feel warm and reassured. Highly recommend to other travelers.

Fast and early check-in. Nice staff. Comfortable beds, good sheets and towels. There is a microwave, boiler and refrigerator in the hall and an electric kettle in the room. The hotel is very close to subway station and there's a supermarket on the ground floor with a food court. Not much space in the room for three people. WiFi could be better. No real bathroom! It's just part of the room separated with a glass door. It doesn't lock or even close properly. There is too little space in there and shower isn't separated from the toilet. After having shower there's water everywhere inside and outside the bathroom due to gaps. That's awful and very discomforting.
