Absolutely loved this place!
It’s an old building, but everything is very clean and well-maintained.
The atmosphere is super cozy, It’s located slightly away from the typical tourist areas, which makes it peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to get anywhere easily. The town itself is calm and very pleasant to stay in, perfect for spending a whole day just relaxing in the courtyard without going anywhere.
It’s also very accessible from Interlaken or Spiez — just a short 15-minute bus ride.
Even though the bus only comes once an hour, it’s easy to manage if you check the schedule.
Highly recommend this peaceful and charming stay!
One of the best stays I've experienced in my 12 years of travel history.Jugendherberge Schloss Burgdorf Hostel offers a unique experience, being an old castle turned into a beautiful hostel. The location is simply awesome.
However, I made a silly mistake by not calling ahead to confirm my check-in time and ended up spending a night outside in the chilly weather because the reception was closed. Thankfully, a staff member arrived the next morning at 7:00 AM and I was able to check in.
The breakfast provided is good, and the cleanliness and service are both commendable. The climb from the train station takes about 20 minutes, but it's well worth it for the incredible setting.
Overall, despite my mishap, this is one of the best hostels in Switzerland and I highly recommend it.
I came to Switzerland again because I came to work in Lautenbronn last time and then went to the Jungfrau. So I wanted to have a different experience this time. When I saw the Interlaken Hotel, I found this lake lodge hostel, a youth hostel in Isertwald. After viewing the map, I found that it was on the edge of Lake Brienz. The hotel was also on the lakeside, and set up a trip with friends. Two families, four big and two small. Istrewald is located on the east side of Interlaken, directly from Interlaken ost train station by bus 103. Each hour of 05 minutes is the bus departure time, every hour, about 20 minutes. Isertwald is a small village, but the scenery is beautiful, with few tourists and very quiet. Upon arrival, I went directly to the hotel. The hotel owner is a young couple, very friendly, the hotel has a great view and the balcony is facing the lake. But the hotel is a wooden structure, and everything should be soft and afraid of affecting others. The hotel has a kitchen, kitchen utensils and cutlery that can be used at will. I didn't see the supermarket here, so I can take it from the big supermarket in Interlaken ost station. The hotel has a free bus card to pick up and drop off to Interlaken. This time I took the drone and took a lot of beautiful lake views and the video of Isertwald. There are a lot of wild swans in Lake Brienz. The swan is not afraid of people. In short, this is a very beautiful and quiet village.
The hotel is three (3) to four (4) kilometers away from the Old Town of Bern and less than one (1) kilometer away from the New Town of Bern.
The breakfast buffet has a great selection of food at a very reasonable price. We saved a lot by adding it on our trip considering that a decent meal on nearby restaurants costs at least 30 Francs.
The rooms are just right when it comes to their size. There is no heater, hair dryer, toothpaste and toothbrush though, only the basic toiletries are provided.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Bern.
This hotel is on the edge of the mountain, flowing water flowing from the front of the hotel, the river on the back of the mountain is very comfortable. Just got off at the supermarket bus stop and walked about 300-400 meters. From Interlaken West Station, take 105 for about 10 minutes. It is very convenient. All hotels will give you a free bus that you can take advantage of. If you have a 3-day trip, you can take the bus one day and take the entire Interlaken. The price in Switzerland is really high. The disadvantage of this hotel is that it can't be cooked and was found to be fined 500 Swiss francs. Eating is the biggest problem. Almost a fast food in the town center is about 200 yuan. You can consider taking a bus to the second floor of the ost supermarket in Interlaken. It is cheap, and a person can eat enough 60-70.

I stayed at a hotel in Interlaken during my trip, and overall it was a great experience. The location was perfect — close to the train station and easy to reach all the main attractions. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were polite and helpful.
The breakfast was really good — fresh bread, cheese, fruits, and hot options too. It definitely made mornings easy and enjoyable.
Just a couple of things to note:
• No hair dryer provided in the room, which was a bit unexpected.
• The hotel also requires a deposit at check-in, so be prepared for that.
Location was considerably near train station but required a steep uphill walk towards it, was a challenge with heavy luggages.
Quiet neighborhood, with a nice village view from the balcony and fresh air.
Breakfast spread was decent.
Reception counter was not manned all the time, especially late at night or early mornings.
Hairdryer was not available in the room, had to use the common one in the basement sauna changing room.
I always like to be honest in my reviews. As a solo traveller of 71 years I booked a single room, which was on the top floor. The lift only went up to the second floor but on my arrival my suitcase was taken up to my room for me. The room was small but had everything I needed, even a writing desk and a washbasin. I am a light sleeper and the only downside to this room was that the bed is right next to the wall of the room next door, which could really do with more sound proofing. I was there for a week and had a variety of changes to that room next door, some very loud. Lucky for me, I took silicone earplugs with me. The room also had a sloping ceiling, where the eaves are. I am only 5'4” and banged my head a few times. BUT the view from the window was worth it. See photo. FABULOUS!!!!
I really enjoyed my stay. The owner Jean-Louis always greeted me in the morning, when I had my early morning cuppa before breakfast. Armed was always there to help too.
The breakfast was excellent with a vast array of food to suit most peoples' needs. This ranging from cereals with dried fruits and nuts, cheese and meats, bacon and scrabbled egg, yoghurts, many different breads and croissants, jams and fresh fruit. This topped up with freshly made coffee and tea at your table.
There is also an area where the hotel provides quality teas of so many different types and a machine that prepares freshly ground coffee whenever you want it. Milk is provided too.
I could fault this hotel and I would like to thank everyone for making my stay and pleasant and enjoyable one. I look forward to my return when in Switzerland.

This hotel is super convenient to go anywhere. Tramp/busses are nearby the hotel. One thing is that the room is quite small but the bathroom is big. Not enough space to put my luggage and i had to put them in the bathroom instead. They have vintage elevator too!
The front desk staff were all friendly and left a good impression.
At first glance, it looked more like an ordinary private home than a hotel, but considering the location it was relatively easy to find and I didn't have to wander around looking for it.
The rooms were clean and safety was well ensured. If I had to point out a drawback, it would be that the shower and toilet were shared.
I happened to be in a room next to them so it wasn't too inconvenient.
Looking out the window with a small balcony gave me a sense of calm.

AAnonymous UserThe Aarburg Hotel & Café is a charming little spot in Interlaken, just a 15-minute walk from Interlaken West train station. While it’s tempting to take the shortcut, I’d recommend sticking to the main road, especially in snowy weather—it’s much easier for pulling luggage.
Check-in was smooth and efficient, but do note there are no lifts in this cozy hotel. Carrying heavy bags up the narrow stairs was a bit of a workout, so pack light if you can.
One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the coffee—it lived up to all the glowing Google reviews. Breakfast was simple but wholesome, with fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, and healthy toppings like dried berries, almonds, and chia seeds. The café is pet-friendly, so don’t be surprised to see a few furry friends around.
The room itself was modest but comfortable. However, as the building is wooden, sounds tend to carry. We wondered if we were bothering other occupants but thankfully, no complaints! The location is peaceful, away from the main road, though the church bells that sound at intervals through the night was a little disturbing on the first night.
With a supermarket near the train station for quick snacks and essentials, this hotel is both convenient and quiet. Perfect for couples looking for a laid-back stay. I’d happily book here again if I return to Interlaken.

GGuest UserThe room price I booked does not include breakfast, but it doesn't matter, there are restaurants and small supermarkets nearby. Fast food can be heated in the microwave in the hotel's separate kitchen, or you can buy raw food and cook it yourself!
A few hundred meters from the hotel, you can see the large lawn where skydiving enthusiasts land and the snow-capped mountains are within easy reach. It is very beautiful! ! ! On a main road, it is the first choice for watch lovers...

GGuest UserThe bathroom was very simple without any shampoo or shower gel provided which was different from the description on booking. There was no one at the reception and you have to do the check-in and check-our by yourself. Can't expect too much as it is a hostel.

LLiliThe view from the window is very nice. The staff are very nice as well. But the room suffers from the noise from other rooms. If people come back late or wake up early you can hear their movements and talks. I was waked up in the early morning. But what more you can expect in this price.
