Travelers Reviews of North Rhine-Westphalia Hotels

H+ Hotel Koeln-Bruehl
4.5/561 Reviews
Hotel Koeln Bruehl is a pleasant and well-located option for travelers visiting the Cologne/Brühl area, offering a mix of comfort, convenience, and affordability. Situated in a quiet yet accessible area, the hotel is ideal for both business travelers and tourists. Its proximity to Phantasialand, a popular theme park, makes it particularly attractive for families. ### Pros: 1. **Location**: The hotel is conveniently located near public transportation, making it easy to reach Cologne's city center or other nearby attractions like Brühl Palace and Phantasialand. The peaceful neighborhood adds to the appeal, offering a relaxing retreat after a busy day of sightseeing or business meetings. 2. **Rooms**: The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. While not overly luxurious, they provide all the essential amenities, including free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a small workspace. The beds are comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. 3. **Service**: The staff at Hotel Koeln Bruehl are friendly, professional, and accommodating. They are always ready to assist with any queries or requests, adding a personal touch to your stay. 4. **Breakfast**: The breakfast buffet is a highlight, offering a variety of options, including fresh bread, pastries, fruits, and hot dishes. It provides a good start to the day and is reasonably priced. 5. **Parking**: Ample parking space is available on-site, which is a great convenience for guests traveling by car. ### Cons: 1. **Décor**: The hotel’s interior is somewhat dated and could benefit from modernizing. While everything is functional, the style might feel a bit old-fashioned to some guests. 2. **Limited Facilities**: Unlike larger hotels, Hotel Koeln Bruehl doesn't have extensive facilities such as a gym, pool, or spa. However, this is reflected in the reasonable pricing. 3. **Noise Levels**: While the area is generally quiet, some guests have reported noise issues due to thin walls, which can be a minor inconvenience, especially if the hotel is busy. ### Conclusion: Hotel Koeln Bruehl is a solid choice for visitors looking for a no-frills, comfortable stay in the Cologne/Brühl area. Its location, friendly service, and good value for money make it an excellent option for families, business travelers, or anyone looking to explore the region without breaking the bank. While it may not offer the luxury or modernity of higher-end hotels, it delivers on all the essentials for a pleasant stay.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The receptionists are also very pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately, sometimes they are overwhelmed when there are too many new guests. As everywhere, it is due to a lack of staff. Unfortunately, this is also evident at breakfast when the hotel is heavily booked.

When we checked in; 1 agent checked us in while the other 2 just stared at us like we were aliens. One of them had a smirk on their face throughout my check-in, I wanted to ask what she thought was so funny with us checking into the hotel but I didn’t want to spoil the evening. They all started laughing when we left the checkin desk. Know that we are non-European. Very unwelcoming and unprofessional. I suggest cultural diversity training. The beds were disgusting! Small strips of hair all over the fitted sheet. The Most Disgusting was the pee stain on the sheets! The bed smelled like piss too. It was supposed to be non-smoking but someone had been smoking in the room or the insulation/vent systems need more work. I didn’t want to deal with the unprofessional front desk staff so I suffered through the uncleanliness and just put 2 towels on top of the duvet just to feel at ease sleeping, even though we were only there for one night…Thank God I didn’t book for longer. The only positive was breakfast; it was adequate for 1 night stay. Definitely won’t be spending another dime here.

Location in 30 minutes walk from the center. There is no capsule coffee machine in the room, strange for this level of the hotel. The bathroom has no hair conditioner. In general the hotel is pulled on a good crack, but not more. I will not stop in it anymore, expensive for this level of service.

The transportation and shopping location is excellent! U78 starts from Düsseldorf Railway Station, passes through King's Road (hotel station) and H.Heine-Allee (a street for food, drink and entertainment), and ends at the exhibition hall. It takes about half an hour to get to the exhibition (the German subway is not punctual, so it is impossible to accurately estimate) After leaving the hotel, DM and various drugstores are all available. In front of King's Road are luxury goods. Then it is connected to the old town of H.Heine-Allee, where you can eat all kinds of food. Okay, let's talk about the key points. The hotel room is clean, safe and comfortable, the staff is polite and enthusiastic, and the breakfast is OK
