Hotel Schweizerhof Basel

We stayed here for just one night as part of a group, but it would be my number one choice should I ever return to Basel. It is across the road from the main station, and the trams are also just across the road, if you wish to travel around the city (free using the hotel guest card). The room was comfortable, and quiet, even though it overlooked the main road. Breakfast! What to say? The most lovely array of so many different foods in a bright, clean dining area. There was a large selection of beautifully prepared fresh fruit, lots of different breads, and so many savouries -cheeses, cold meats, smoked salmon, avocado, eggs, as well as some hot food. One young waiter said it was his first day, but he was well trained and spoke excellent English. Thank you.
B&B Hotel Basel

I was in August 2023 for a night with the family in this B&B. Let's come to Check In! I had to speak English at Check Inn! Why can't you speak German at the reception in Basel???? Well the room, we had the family room with a double bed and two single beds. The room was beautifully large and clean. Air conditioning is not running at all you can set what you want you not run. I'm pretty bad about you being deliberately placed from the hotel. What I've never seen in a hotel is the windows without touch!!! You can't open or close the windows! ? ! ? Now breakfast! What should I say it was overviewable and evil at the same time! I took me salami and S*****es and the witch was shaved right! Yes, we have breakfast, in fact, Salami and S******en served that I think has been unpleasant for days!
Ibis Styles Basel City

This hotel is within walking distance from the SBB train station, staff at the hotel are very friendly and speak very good English. I was very grateful for the early check in without any quibble with the receptionist, and she explained how we can get around. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold foods, with variations every day. I would definitely stay here again. The only discomfort with our room was the temperature in our room was set to 19C, which was comfortable during the day, but was a bit too hot for the night for us, and we couldn’t lower the temperature down.

Stayed in this hotel an two separate dates a week apart and was not impressed. We booked this hotel as we needed to be near the train station and airport transfer bus as we were flying into the Europot, staying one night and travelling on to Germany by train the following day and doing the journey in reverse the following week. On arrival at the hotel on the first day we were shown to our room, to say the least it was very small! The only way we could open our suitcase (not the biggest) fully was to lay it on the bed. I could not have spent a night in that room as it was very clostraphobic . On going to reception to complain we were told if we wanted a bigger room we would have to upgrade at a cost of 40 Swiss francs . As we had prepaid the room we were left with no choice but to pay a total of 80 francs for both nights. As for the facilities they were basic, nowhere to make a hot drink, indeed there was a carafe and 2 glasses but no water, on the second occasion when we stayed one of the glasses had what appeared to be toothpace on the rim. We found the beds to be uncomfortable, very hard but the shower worked well and the general level of cleanliness was on the whole OK. Breakfast was good with a decent variety of food. While the hotel is well positioned it is not for us and we will not be back.

I can not tell anything about rooms. I can say location seems great; easy way from train station. But check-in staff was completely unsympathetic. We arrived there to spend a night when waiting to take our flight to Madrid from Mulhouse St Louis airport. We have booked in advance and have received many messages telling us about Covid safe measures. Though been completly vaccinated ( me with AstraZeneca and my husband with Moderna , certificated by USA) we were denied access to the hotel because they could not accept(or read or like) our certificates. I have read all the messages I have received from the hotel and none of them asked about our vaccines or tell us to have a PCR. Maintenant I have read all the news they put on their official page and it says no word about that. But when arriving, they told us we have to obtain a PCR, which would take more than four hours and wait the results without getting to our room. The check-in staff gave us a kind of sermon about rules: of course I can understand them but as they say that it is a non-smoking facility and inform about pets policy, perhaps it would have been better to let us know in advance that the only pass to sleep in the hotel was to be European or have an European Green pass. For us, an experience to forget. We felt rejected.

This is my second time staying here. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are spacious and clean and comfortable. The breakfast lacks nothing and I love the energy juice drink! The garden is relaxed and the free coffee and drinks are most welcome. I cannot imagine a better hotel in Basel.
Motel One Basel

The overall traffic at Basel Motel is very convenient. The in-house guests also have a free free city bus ticket for Basel for everyone to use. The hotel is a church, there is time to go shopping, there are many businesses and restaurants attached.
Airport Hotel Basel - Convenient & Friendly

When your flight is cancelled (thanks Easy Jet) and the hotel is full, it takes exceptional service to make things work. I arrived on Wednesday evening 31st August in exactly that situation. So the hotel got somebody in to clean an extra room, they gave me a meal voucher and they said 'don't pay' we will claim off Easy Jet. The glass of Merlot at the bar was the best I ever tasted and the reception desk and restaurant provided excellent service - and good food. Thank you to the team who deserve real praise. My room was actually excellent too and the wi-fi was good.

I was confused before I arrived in person, so I will clarify the situation for you. There is an elevator that goes up to the fourth floor. The wheelchair accessible rooms have roll-in showers. There are bathtubs in two rooms on the fifth floor, which requires going up a flight of stairs. We stayed in a room on the fifth floor because it was more important to us to have a bathtub than to have a wheelchair-accessible room. Bonus: the rooms on the fifth floor have air conditioning! There is a shower in the bathroom. There is also a separate bathtub, which is surrounded by rocks. (Why?) The bathtub sides are steep. We found the mattress to be comfortable. The room has a sloped ceiling because the roof is sloped. There are hardwood floors and sky lights. There is also a glass table and a couple of chairs in room 550. We found the front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful. There are various free drinks and fruits (espresso drinks you make, water, and tea; apricots, apples, plums) and other drinks for purchase. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch (closing at 13:30). The garden is nice.

Stayed for 2 nights and as above Friendly welcome, Decent sized Room (believe some of the rooms in the OLD Wing are a bit small). N.B Rooms in the new wing will require a short walk and some steps). Hotel very quiet except at 7.00am and 6.00pm when church Gells ring for about 1 minute Hotel Breakfast is a typical small hotel breakfast Buffet. Good cheeses and cold Meats, normal Hotel Scambled Eggs:). Location at the Top of town, but very close to the Centre (Tram Stop close by) Walking - either steep set of steps down to Market Platz or a very attractive stroll down a couple of lovely winding streets, shops, cafes..... (What goes down has to go up). Very competitively priced
