AAnonymous UserHere’s a polished English review based on your experience: ⸻ I had a very pleasant stay at Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden (上海外滩豫园美居酒店). I arrived early around 11 AM, and the staff were extremely helpful in assisting with an early check-in, which I truly appreciated after a long journey. The room I booked met all my expectations. I chose the duck-themed room, and it was absolutely perfect—especially for my child, who loved it so much. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for families. I also requested a late check-out until 7 PM, and the hotel kindly offered an option to extend the stay by adding extra hours. This flexibility was very helpful for my schedule. One thing that stood out was the bathroom, which was equipped with a bidet. As an Indonesian family, this is something we really value for personal hygiene, and it made our stay much more comfortable. The hotel’s location is very strategic. It is close to Xiaotaoyuan Mosque, making it very convenient for Muslim guests, especially for attending Friday prayers. In addition, the hotel provides a shuttle service to Yu Yuan Garden and other nearby tourist attractions, which made exploring the area much easier. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families and Muslim travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and thoughtful amenities in Shanghai.

ZZhongzhenOverall, it's a pretty good and unique hotel. You can watch any movie you want with the included streaming service, and the projector is excellent. The location is super convenient – great value for money! You can reach various public transport options like the subway and bus within 300 meters. There aren't many dining options right nearby, but it's not far from the commercial district and city attractions. The only downside is that the noise from the downstairs restaurant/bar and street traffic at night might be a bit disruptive for light sleepers, but the hotel provides all necessary amenities, which is a big plus.

KKWSGI must say that the staff in this hotel demonstrate impeccable good service - from the desk counter staff (in particular the lady managers and the male staff by the surname of 吴) to the cleaning ladies of our room. The hotel is in a very strategic location near to Nanjing Pedestrian Street and also near to the metro stations which has Lines 2 and 10 crossing. Getting to the Bund is walking distance and families would like to stay here as the room is spacious. Definitely my hotel to come back again on my next visit!

GGuest UserProbably the best bang for your buck hotel in Shanghai!! The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. They provide new towels, refreshments and toiletries everyday which is amazing. The staff were also very friendly. Location is 1 minute walk to Line 14 Metro and was very convenient. I definitely would come back here in my next visit in Shanghai. 🤩

SShanghai based coupleAs a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

GGuest UserStaying at the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund is truly understanding the elegance of old Shanghai. The century-old building seamlessly blends its stately texture with modern luxury. From the vintage chandeliers in the lobby to the laid-back atmosphere of the Long Bar, every corner exudes a refined and sophisticated quality. The room offers an exceptional view, with the river and city skyline stretching out before you. The bedding is comfortable, and the details are thoughtfully curated. Our dedicated concierge, Aaron Coco, provided gentle and attentive service, never intrusive but always there when needed, making us feel genuinely well cared for and at ease.

CCcccchrissyBooked this hotel for our trip to Disneyland, and the service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. They proactively upgraded our room type, and when we finished the mini-bar drinks, they were promptly refilled the next day. The cleaning staff were very kind and meticulous. The hotel has a vending machine on the first floor and a restaurant on the third floor. The breakfast selection was extensive, with various Western pastries, and the Chinese fried noodles were also delicious. The deluxe room was spacious with great morning sunlight and a very comfortable sofa. The hotel is very close to the bus stop, making it super convenient to take the Route 50 bus back from Disneyland at night (I actually found it more convenient than using the hotel shuttle). The only minor drawback was that the bedding could have been a bit cleaner.

ZZhenxiaoshengPoppyI arrived a bit late, and the front desk staff proactively upgraded my room. The common areas have a really nice vibe, and the front desk service was excellent. The room itself was genuinely unique, even featuring a large thermostatic bathtub. If it feels too warm, you can contact the front desk to have the switch turned off. The river view from the room was absolutely stunning; seeing the river from a higher elevation offers a distinctly different experience than from below. This was a truly special stay, and it's definitely a hotel worth revisiting.

SsignxService: The best hotel I've ever stayed at! No exaggeration. I've tried many hotels in Shanghai, including Shangri-La (Jingan, Pudong), Ritz-Carlton (Pudong), Peninsula (Bund), Shanghai Tower J-Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Kempinski, Disney hotels, Westin, Kerry Centre, Sheraton... Apart from Banyan Tree, which I'm not interested in, and St. Regis, which I tried in Sanya, and Waldorf Astoria, which I haven't had the chance to visit yet, I've checked out almost all the hotels my child and I were interested in. Honestly, W truly impressed me. From purchasing the package and booking the dates in advance to phone communication, the staff consistently displayed genuine warmth and professionalism. They meticulously noted all my requests, ensuring accurate internal communication. On the day of arrival, I wasn't feeling well and my tone wasn't great. Yet, the front desk staff listened attentively and with incredible patience throughout. This level of internal training deeply impressed me. There was none of the arrogance I've experienced at the Peninsula or Ritz-Carlton; instead, it was full of understanding for the customer. I actually want to come back and stay again soon! 😂 I even joked with the hotel staff, asking if this excellent service was because I booked a suite. 😝 But then again, I had suites at Shanghai Tower J-Hotel and Ritz-Carlton too, and the service there was... well, let's just say it was different. At the W, it's not just the front desk and lobby; even the staff helping with the elevator and the cleaning crew in the basement are incredibly cheerful and sincere. I love this fresh, uplifting energy and team. Facilities: The facilities are clean and hygienic, and every room has a bidet toilet seat, which is a nice touch! Environment: Very clean, and most importantly, the view across the river is absolutely stunning. Hygene: The hygiene is excellent, very clean. And their response time is super fast. If I had to pick one downside, it would be that the配套 facilities at Magnolia Plaza are a bit too low-end, haha. They really don't match the W's standard.

TTiantiandeThe room was nice, with a 1.3m x 2m bed. The front desk offered complimentary bottled water and toiletries. I was initially worried about the negative reviews, but there was absolutely no need – it was great! Breakfast was an additional 19/person with a membership, which was quite good value for money. There were a lot of foreigners and many people at breakfast. The room also came with tea bags and a mini-fridge (though it wasn't cooling), plus a complimentary Sprite and Coke 🥤. I didn't take photos of the room, so just check out the breakfast. Service: Pretty average.
