GGuest UserThe hotel's environment, facilities, cleanliness, and service are all top-notch. The kids' play area in the lobby on the first floor is great for children, and there are plenty of attractions nearby. The 'Xiao Shanghai' pedestrian street and Wanda Plaza are just a 10-minute walk away. I'm very satisfied with this hotel; the room amenities are excellent, and all the toiletries are provided, which is very convenient. They even offer free laundry service, and the clothes are delivered back to your room. Plus, they have a Disney shuttle service and a shuttle to Zhoupu Metro Station, with very well-organized schedules. I really love this hotel and will definitely recommend it to my friends.

SShanghai based coupleAs a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

EEmmakmcThis hotel was fantastic. One of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The location was perfect, central but not super crowded. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My first room was so hot I couldn’t sleep there more than one night (no opening window and many hotels in China turn off AC functions for the winter) so they moved me to a new room with ease and a friendly attitude. Gorgeous, clean rooms and I felt very safe there as a solo female traveler. Thank you to the staff for being so great. I would stay here again over and over!

AAnonymous UserPros: 1. Upon arrival on check-in day, a doorman helped open the car door and took our luggage, escorting us to the front desk. Our bags were then delivered directly to the room by staff. 2. The hotel staff's service attitude was excellent, and the front desk handled everything professionally. 3. We booked a river-view king room and paid extra to upgrade to a Bund panoramic view king room (not sure if that's the exact name). I have to say, the view was absolutely stunning – exactly what everyone hopes for! You could see the Oriental Pearl Tower, the 'Three-piece Suit' (referring to the three tallest skyscrapers), the Huangpu River, and the entire Bund, all unobstructed. 4. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Binjiang Park, perfect for a leisurely stroll anytime. The surrounding area has complete commercial amenities, offering plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. The hotel itself is a quiet oasis in a bustling area, perfectly aligning with Banyan Tree's resort positioning. 5. The room facilities were premium, and amenities were comprehensive: a circular bathtub, a double-basin vanity in the bathroom, a smart toilet, and a shower with three types of nozzles and excellent water pressure. 6. The room received complimentary bottled water and a small beverage daily. You can definitely cut down on ordering outside drinks when staying here; the in-room supply is enough. 7. The first round of soft drinks in the mini-bar was complimentary upon check-in. 8. Any issues we reported via phone were handled swiftly by the hotel. 9. The best perk during our stay was the breakfast, served from 7 AM until *12 PM*! Being able to sleep in and essentially save on lunch was fantastic. 10. The hotel's cleaning staff was prompt and even asked for our preferred cleaning time, which was very thoughtful. 11. On check-out day, I wasn't quite ready to leave and wanted to extend our check-out time. The front desk was busy with another guest's call and I couldn't reach them immediately. Afterwards, Ms. Minnie, the hotel's room division staff, promptly called me back and arranged for a late check-out until 1 PM. Her professionalism and quick response were commendable. Cons: 1. For a luxury hotel with this location and view, don't expect free room upgrades. Upgrades come with an extra charge, and having such an expectation can lead to a slight disappointment. 2. The hotel's check-in time is strictly 3 PM. If you arrive early, you'll either have to wait or go out to explore. 3. The room wasn't soundproof. I noticed a gap under the room door, and a noticeable space between the door and its frame. No wonder you could hear every little sound from the hallway, and conversely, anything happening in the room was audible from the corridor. This compromises privacy a bit, making it less suitable for couples or those (like me) who enjoy listening to music with speakers in the room, as it might disturb others. 4. Food delivery is a common issue and a typical drawback of older luxury hotels: deliveries aren't allowed directly to the room; guests have to go down to pick them up themselves. There are no smart robots for delivery. 5. Other snacks in the mini-bar are not complimentary. Given the price point of the rooms, the hotel could be a bit more generous. 6. The breakfast selection was quite limited, comparable to a buffet breakfast you'd find in a hotel costing around 100 RMB. For example, a few years ago, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt by the river in Changsha, Hunan, where the breakfast offered Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Korean options, plus seafood and sashimi – I could spend over an hour enjoying breakfast there. For the price point of the Banyan Tree on the Bund, this level of breakfast is genuinely a bit disappointing and should be upgraded.

FFeixiangdemayi1318This was my second stay at this hotel, and I was upgraded to an Elite CEO room on the 28th floor. It's an open-plan suite without a partition, and the bathroom is large and bright. The curtains are automatic, but the toilet isn't a smart one. Breakfast at the Panoramic Western Restaurant was excellent; the staff cleared plates promptly, and the food was well-stocked. They had freshly squeezed watermelon and green vegetable juice, and the mini wontons were handmade, not frozen, which was a nice touch. The gym and swimming pool are open to hotel guests.

EEricMSo close to perfection.... So close. I have been putting off staying at this hotel for years, and that is a regret. This hotel is amazing. Location, Great. Staff, friendly. Beds, comfortable. 24 hour room service, fantastic. Bidet toilet seat, amazing. For the price, this hotel is a steal. Better service and better rooms than hotels that are double the price. My biggest problem. The bathtub is too small. It looks big, but for a 190cm guy, it's just way way too small. Looks big in pictures... Not in reality. They probably have bigger tubs in different rooms (maybe executive or suites). I will contact them before booking again to make sure tub is big. The pool is great. The Sauna and steam room in the changing rooms are great. I do wish there was a jacuzzi or some hot pool... Either in the gendered changing rooms or by the pool. Recommendations: the bathrobes are small, get some plus sized ones. More coffee in the room, 2 pods aren't enough. More water in rooms, 4 small bottles aren't enough. Allow cooling during winter, I know it's not easy, but many expats don't want 25° rooms. Finally... For room service. EGGS BENEDICT!!!! You already have a good room service breakfast menu... But you need eggs Benedict. I judge hotels room service based on club sandwiches. This club sandwich was mid tier. Not bad, not fantastic. Granted I ordered the late night club sandwich. Maybe there is a difference. But this is the same with all of the other room service food I ordered. Good. Just a few steps away from great. But super happy there is a 24hr menu! Next time I stay I will experiment with regular hours food vs late night. In all. This hotel is amazing! Definitely will stay again. Just hopefully I can get a bigger bathtub next time.

GGuest UserWe were very pleased with the room! We booked a river-view twin room for a trip with my mom. The beds were 1.5 meters wide, so they weren't cramped, and the room itself was spacious enough for two people to move around comfortably. The view from the window was perfect, and the windows were spotless. The facilities were excellent, the view was perfect, and I was especially impressed by the smart toilet – I'm definitely considering getting one now! The hotel is grand and very impressive, with a strong sense of history and culture. The service quality was also excellent. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews online. Every staff member we encountered was smiling, proactively helped with our luggage, and showed us to our room. The cleaning was meticulous and thoughtful. The hotel uses Aesop toiletries, which have a unique and pleasant scent and feel great to use. We all thought it was a wonderful stay; in short, it was perfect!

GGuest UserOur stay at the hotel was excellent. The room had a breathtaking view of the Bund and the 'three-piece suite' (Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center). The food at the Executive Lounge on the 3rd floor of the East Building was also delicious. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all very good. Rosten provided excellent service, and the butler, Lorna, whom he arranged for us, was exceptional. She called us in advance to confirm our room preferences and helped us secure a room. She even upgraded us to an Executive Lounge room type. Upon arrival, she helped us coordinate our room, and when we found the TV couldn't screen mirror, she brought us an extra mirroring device. She truly paid attention to our needs and helped us resolve issues. However, the service was a bit hit-or-miss. The front desk staff who checked us in not only failed to assign us the room that the butler had secured for us but also disregarded our request for a Pearl Tower view, assigning us a room in the East Building with a Bund view. Then, she self-importantly declared, ”Please trust my taste.” But a service person's taste should not outweigh a customer's needs. This front desk staff member might lack the most basic respect for customer requirements. Fortunately, after some coordination, we were able to switch to a room that met our needs, and the rest of our stay was very pleasant.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Andaz Hotel with my parents during the Chinese New Year holiday. Although the decor is a bit dated due to the hotel's age, the meticulous upkeep and cleaning still made for a very pleasant stay. I absolutely loved the full set of Byredo's Eleventh Hour toiletries provided in the room – they're unique, not overly common, and show great taste! The only minor drawback was that the smart control buttons in the room were a bit old and not very responsive, making it slightly less convenient than when I stayed a few years ago. Also, the TV is old, and watching the Spring Festival Gala and Winter Olympics felt a bit anachronistic, I hope they can improve this in the future! All the hotel staff (including the front desk, restaurant, room service, housekeeping, security, concierge, etc.) were very dedicated and had excellent service attitudes, promptly responding to any requests. I especially want to commend the staff who cleaned room 2505 on 2/18 during check-out; they found a piece of jewelry that my elderly parent had lost, and my parent specifically asked me to give them a good review and thanks! On the morning of the second day of Chinese New Year, there was also a lion dance performance that toured the restaurant and took photos with guests. Overall, this was a great stay, and I would definitely come back again if I have the chance.

IIsa-hanliThe location is incredibly convenient, with plenty of options like Jing'an Temple, Jiuguang Department Store, Réel Department Store, Plaza 66, and Kerry Centre nearby – it's super bustling! 👍👍👍 The hotel environment is elegant, a true five-star establishment with excellent, comfortable facilities. The rooms are spacious and bright. The surrounding dining, entertainment, sightseeing, transportation, and artistic atmosphere are all top-notch. Staying at the Kunlun Hotel this Chinese New Year in Shanghai was definitely the best choice!
