"Very good location, walk a few steps to Zhonglou metro station exit D cross to exit A to get many restaurants. Can reach bell and drum tower in a short walk. Nice breakfast. Room with space and clean. Grocery shop in front of the hotel. Staffs are friendly and very helpful. They allow to store our lugguages for 2 days during our visit to Luoyang. Highly recommended."

"We had a wonderful time at the Old Locust Homestay. You can tell the owner really cares about his guests. During our stay there was some work being done in the road out front and the owner made sure to help us with our bags coming in and when we left and also offered a complementary room upgrade along with complementary imported coffee and gave us some local treats as a condolence for the issue. He always went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The hotel is newly renovated, very stylist and has great views from the third and fourth floors. We would definitely come back if we are ever in Xi’an again."

"The location is excellent: within walking distance of the metro station and the ancient wall, the Bell Tower can be reached on foot too if you don’t mind a little stretch. The owner is super responsive via text. Price is honestly too cheap for this location. Room is clean, spacious and comfy. Multiple convenience stores just off the elevator on ground level. The only downside is that the apartment is a little hard to find. We called the owner and he came down to take us to the room. I would recommend arriving during daytime hours for this reason. Owner is super helpful. Will definitely stay again next time I visit Xi’an."

"Absolutely amazing experience staying at Novotel Xian hotel! From arriving at the hotel we were met at the entrance and our bags were taken to the reception. The women working behind reception were very welcoming, friendly and spoke great English. The hotel smelled very fresh, the room was very large, clean, modern and had lots of amenities. This hotel is excellent even to western standards, and I would expect to pay around £300 a night for this room back in London but here in Xian it was really cheap! Location is also excellent, few minutes walk from the main centre. Honestly I could not recommend this hotel enough!"

"I am so mixed about this hotel. The Central hotel at the bell tower. Location - awesome. Quick metro ride from the train station. Hotel door is literally 5 feet from subway exit. Hotel is directly across from the bell tower. Staff - amazing. They will literally bend over backwards to accommodate you. They arranged the shuttle to the terracota warriors and back from the huaqing palace where the show was. In constant contact via we chat. Pretty impressive for $12 cad dollars return. Breakfast - this is the first hotel we paid for breakfast with becuase it was affordable. Finding a western style Breakfast in china seems to be challenging. The Breakfast is basic but you can get coffee, some fruit, toast, fried or hard boiled eggs and lots of chinese options, rice, noodles, sea food, black rice congi. Rooms - nice, a bit small, super clean and renovated but in a more classic stlye. The negative is the first room we had, either had mold or something but it made my wife and i very ill. They were very accommodating and moved us, the second room the ac wasnt working and room got up to 28c , the third room, third night is awesome. The first two rooms were in the south end of the hotel and both had a smell, maybe an older section. The third room is in the north end and has no smell and although it looks identical, feels much better. Price - we are paying about $55/cad a night with breakfast included. If i were to book here again, i would request the north end of hotel and if i noticed any sort of smell, i would immediately ask for a different room. The primary reason to book again would be #1 the staff and #2 the location."

"What a wonderful, hospitable owner. The owner was extremely thoughtful and took really good care of all his guests. He took extra effort to prepare an early breakfast for a European family who wanted to leave early for the terracotta museum and helped them rebook the taxi when he observed that the allocated vehicle was too small for the family of 4. I enjoyed having conversations with the owner, covering anything under the sun helping to break the monotony of solo travel. The place is located in a quieter area, but surrounded by the traditional Chinese food stalls, local market, chic restaurants and bars and trendy cafes and bakeries. Clean and tidy, the big living room on the ground floor to relax or for some, a spot to some work."

"It was a very reasonably priced hotel! Just note that there are a few set of ramps where you need to slide your luggage upon entering the building but they also have someone who can assist you when you ring the bell at the entrance. The room was very comfortable and they also have sets of washer and dryer. We just took didi to go around, it was close to the main tourist attractions."

"This environment and this price are absolutely ok! The price-performance ratio is very high. I booked a double bed room. When I went to the front desk to go through the formalities, I asked if I could change it to a standard room. The front desk agreed directly. We were also given a free breakfast for the next day, which was very rich, including steamed buns, fried dough sticks, fried rice, milk, soy milk, etc. It is no exaggeration to say that the environment and the more than 20 varieties of breakfast are worth it. When we checked out the next day, the little girl at the front desk was very enthusiastic and didn't let us wait any longer at the front desk. She just gave us the room card and left. The room was very large and the air conditioning was turned on for us in advance. It was very warm. The service was very attentive and heart-warming."

"Overall, it was quite good! The location is super convenient for a family of three on a 6-day, 5-night trip. The subway entrance is literally 10 meters to the right downstairs, and Exit 7 of the underground passage also provides quick access to the hotel. The laundry room was always busy; although the washers ran non-stop, the dryer had issues, but they were promptly fixed the very next day. From our room, with the curtains open, we had a view of the Bell Tower. The night market downstairs was also bustling, perfect for grabbing a snack whenever we felt like it. We sampled a few things and found them to be quite good. The young staff at the front desk were incredibly enthusiastic and always willing to help with any requests – a truly passionate team. Breakfast was decent, though we'd suggest adding a bit more variety. The only minor drawback was that our street-facing room was a little noisy. However, after a full day of sightseeing, we were usually so tired that the street noise didn't bother us much in the end. 😁 If we visit again, we'd likely choose this place. One final note: we booked the hotel's Terracotta Warriors day tour, and our experience wasn't great – it was just mediocre. Although it didn't include entry to the main attraction, it featured a show called 'The Revival Army' and an AR mirror experience. If you opted not to watch them, you'd be stuck waiting at the visitor center for nearly two hours. My child wanted to see it, so my husband took him. I, on the other hand, spent 29.9 at a foot spa outside the visitor center, enjoying the air conditioning and a comfortable seat, as the visitor center itself was quite underwhelming. All in all, Xi'an is definitely worth another visit!"

"This hotel is in a small street less than 50metre distance between main street and the hotel. It is located between the south of bell tower and South gate of Xi'an City Wall. This make it easy for us to travel to all around Xi'an by subway, Didi, Taxi, bus. Room is clean and tidy. However, hall way is a bit dusty but after telling the front desk they clean it. Breakfast is good . Congee with Chinese condiment, fried rice, fried noodle, fried sausage, fried vegetable, Fruit, egg, Noodle bar are the composition of their offered breakfast. I have seen that they offer Roujiemou (Chinese beef sandwich) in their breakfast but I did not taste it. Free bottles of water and plum juice are available on the ground floor near front desk. At least Two usable USB-A, two USB-C plugs together with two type A and two type I of Chinese AC plug are on the wall near beds. A light switch in our room is faulty but after telling the front desk they fix it right away. All TV Channel are in Chinese language. All in all I think that this hotel is a good value hotel for a tourist."
