Hotel REF by HMI in Izumisano is my go-to choice whenever I have an early morning flight. The prices are reasonable, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The highlight for me is definitely the hotel's large public bath and outdoor rotenburo (open-air hot spring) on the top floor – a soak there in the evening is incredibly relaxing and helps melt away fatigue. Plus, the hotel is less than 100 meters from Izumisano Station; you can see it right after exiting the subway. It's also just two stops away from Kansai Airport, making its location absolutely excellent!

Good: This airport hotel offers convenient access to Kansai Airport for early morning flights, which is especially good if you're not used to eating at the airport or on the plane. The hotel's breakfast is quite rich and healthy, and the restaurant on the top floor has excellent views. Bad: Although the hotel is new, the guest rooms themselves show signs of heavy use. The bathroom, in particular, felt old with dated decor and linens, and there was a persistent foul odor – definitely not up to a four-star standard. The furniture in the room was scuffed, the carpet was dirty, and the overall hygiene was concerning. Not entirely accurate: The shuttle service to the airport is only available in the early morning and requires a reservation. The last shuttle departs at 8:50 AM, arriving at the airport at 9:10 AM. At other times, guests need to make their own way. Taking the train is only one stop and costs 370 JPY per person.

Stay one night cause of late arrival. Night shuttle to and from terminal 1 is the point we stay here, driver was really helpful helped us load the luggage during the rain. Waiting point at terminal 1 is walking distance from arrival hall. Front desk check in was smooth, help us to buy breakfast voucher and the amenities of the hotels. We stay 1 night at Washington and 1 night at OMO hotel. Choose Washington if u prefer classic hotel with the bigger room space and shuttle bus. Distance from Rinkutown station was about the same, easy to walk even with baby stroller.

The hotel has an excellent location, directly connected to Rinku Town Station, Premium Outlets, and Kansai Airport, making it very convenient for travelers. There is also a Lawson convenience store attached to the hotel on the 2nd floor. The self-service luggage storage area was spacious, well-organized, and very convenient. The self check-in and check-out procedures made the process fast and easy. The breakfast on the 21st floor was very good, with a beautiful view of the sea and Kansai Airport. The food selection was extensive and delicious. The room was a bit small and the staff felt rather rigid. The laundry machines were quite expensive, had small capacity, and the washing and drying machines were separate. Other than that, everything else was very good.

The room was spacious, though the decor was a bit dated. However, it was very clean. There's a free shuttle to the airport, which is super convenient and only takes about 15 minutes. There's also a large supermarket nearby that stays open until 10 PM, great for browsing. Their prices are about 10% cheaper than 7-Eleven, and they even have discounted items in the evenings. Plus, it's just one stop away from the outlet mall, making getting around very easy.

Had a really enjoyable stay and it was wonderful to ring in the New Year here! All the staff were incredibly kind and took great care of us right until we left, which I really appreciated. Happy New Year and I wish you all good health! If you have a car, it's an even better place to stay! But even if you don't have a car, they offer pickup/drop-off, so I still highly recommend it.

Overall, the hotel's facilities and amenities are decent, but there's a subtle discrimination against Chinese guests. I'm usually quite easygoing, and my first seven days of an 8-day trip to Japan were great. However, this hotel was an exception. I booked three months in advance, and at a higher price than what it would have cost to book a day or two prior. Despite there being other vacant rooms, the staff assigned me the lowest-tier room at the very end of the hallway. Meanwhile, a couple of Japanese guests who arrived after me were given rooms on higher floors or in more central locations. Not to mention, my window overlooked a fenced-off construction site, and there was even clutter piled up right outside my door. This definitely warrants a negative review.

The self check-in and check-out process was quite cumbersome, almost like solving a puzzle, which might appeal to introverts. It's about a fifteen-minute walk from Rinku Town Station, in a quiet area that's a bit desolate, but thankfully there's a convenience store right downstairs.

I chose this hotel for an overnight layover at Kansai Airport. The main advantage is its convenient location near the airport; it's about a 30-minute commute by foot and train to KIX. There's a shopping mall, supermarket, and Don Quijote nearby. I stayed in a twin room, and while it was small, it had everything you'd need, including a private bathroom. The downsides are that the soundproofing isn't great as it's street-facing, and while shampoo and body wash are provided, there's no conditioner.
