My husband and I booked a random night away. We are very pleased we selected the Edwardian in Manchester as it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and tidy. The spa pool area was lovely and relaxing (our children were with their grandparents so we swam at child free times). It was a shame to see people playing on their phones in the spa area. I was not really concerned about filming etc. However, it was sad to see they couldn't just switch off from the world for an hour or so in that location. We didn't eat in the hotel and got breakfast on the go as we were heading to work in the morning. We chose to spend the little time we had in the morning in the pool rather than at breakfast. We would normally have booked breakfast but as we had to get to the office for 9am we picked the more interesting opinion. We would happily book again.

We arrived during a heatwave in the UK, stepping out of a stuffy, non-air-conditioned car feeling like we'd been in a sauna, into a wonderfully cool and air-conditioned hotel room. It was incredibly comfortable!

The hotel’s physical assets are in top shape, the 2nd-floor pool and sauna are peaceful and high-quality, and the breakfast service was seamless despite a busy weekend. Really great location, in walking distance from the airport terminal and railway (but no walking directions given by the hotel which was a slight oversight) The shower was so good and great towels and comfy bed. Some design issues which let the hotel down. Difficult to move heavy cases over thick carpet and the door to the room wasn’t one that would latch to keep it open. Just annoying when you’re really tired… but the worst thing was the lack of soundproofing and the toilet making random flushing noises every few minutes. So sadly I didn’t sleep well at all which is surely the top priority at a hotel.

The hotel's location is excellent, within a 15-minute walk of both Manchester Oxford and Piccadilly train stations. It's also right next to the *** Village and Chinatown. Most of the city center is accessible within half an hour. Our room was on the fifteenth floor, offering a great view, and the soundproofing was good – we didn't notice any noise. It was quite clean and tidy. However, the bathroom only provided a 2-in-1 shower gel and shampoo, so you might want to bring your own if you prefer separate products.

The location was great and the room was very clean. There's even a hairdryer! It's super convenient with a supermarket diagonally across from the hotel and lots of restaurants nearby. The self check-in was simple and easy to understand, and I really appreciated that a staff member from the front desk came over to check on me and offer help. I'd love to stay here again if I have the chance!

I booked a single room for my family for one night before their flight back home the next day. They gave really good feedback, saying it was clean and hygienic. It's also very close to the train station, as well as T2 and T3 terminals. A simple breakfast was included.

It’s showing a little wear and tear such as water damage to woodwork in bathroom.  Dusting could be better and polishing of reception desk and lifts needs to be maintained better.  Downstairs looks messy    Just doesn’t feel 5* or luxurious anymore.   Room service was hit and miss, basics overlooked.  Did not feel like you were in a special hotel now
