The hotel is aesthetically pleasing, has old world charm yet modern. Breakfast is good though sometimes a long queue is formed outside the restaurant. But my check in was very disappointing. First the time it took for that staff to process it led me to think either their computer is not working or there's a problem with my booking (but I have received reminder from Trip.com. Worst, that staff asked me to pay a sum which is about £100 more than the stated sum on my hotel voucher ( he even said specifically ”For the first night the amount is xxx, and for the second night, the amount is xxx, with a security deposit of £50, the total is £4xx.”I told him he made a mistake as the sum stated in my printed voucher is only £3xx. That staff is either incompetent or not trustworthy, and should not be working on front desk. ALWAYS CHECK THE PRICE ON YOUR VOUCHER.

Came here with a friend and overall had a good experience. The staff were very friendly. However, the location was a bit hard to find. Even though it's right next to the train station, it's not very obvious. We couldn't find it at first. Later, when we ordered food delivery, the delivery person circled downstairs for over ten minutes trying to find it, and I eventually had to go out in the rain to meet him 😂 The room was quite small, like a renovated budget hotel, but it had all the necessary amenities. For the price, I was generally quite satisfied. Our window faced the train tracks, but it wasn't too noisy.

The room was average with no ceiling lights but both double beds were comfortable. The bathroom has a bathtub and it’s a pretty high climb for an average height person to take a shower. Plus the floor always got super wet because of the shower water. The shower was also broken so there was more water leaking behind the shower than on the person bathing. There are no face towel hangers and the heated towel hanging rod was not heated at all. The buffet had the exact same things everyday, including the cut fruits 🫣

I had a very good experience staying at Hilton Cardiff. The hotel felt extremely safe and well managed throughout my stay. One thing I noticed is that they are very strict about not allowing visitors after 9 PM. At first, it was a bit disappointing, but honestly, it also made me feel much safer knowing they take security seriously. The service was excellent from beginning to end. The staff were always kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed, which made the whole experience feel very welcoming. My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It was also cleaned during my stay, which I really appreciated and added to the overall comfort. The location is another big advantage the hotel is just steps away from Cardiff Castle, making it perfect for exploring the city. It’s also only about a 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central railway station, which made getting there and around very convenient. One morning I decided to try the breakfast buffet, and it was definitely worth it. There were many options to choose from, including pastries, hot food, fruit, and drinks. They also had coffee machines with very good coffee, which made the breakfast experience even better. Another highlight was the bar downstairs it had a great atmosphere and was a really nice place to relax after a day of exploring. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cardiff, especially if you value comfort, excellent service, a great location, and above all, feeling safe during your stay.

Amazing location that is right by the city centre. Staff were really friendly and we were made to feel super welcome all the way from arrival until we checked out. Room was clean, tidy and warm which was really nice in the colder weather. There wasn’t a huge amount of amenities but for a small hotel the amenities provided proved just enough. Overall super pleased and will definitely be returning for our next trip.

I have a really mixed feeling about this hotel. I booked the superior room with tree lined view and asked for a quiet room: the receptionist gave me an extremely cold and noisy room right next to the motorway and above some nightclubs. My watch has identified the noise level is over the normal limit. I couldn’t fall asleep due to the loud noise even at midnight. I called the receptionist to change a room. Unfortunately, they first gave me a standard room that the heating system was not working and much smaller than I have paid for. The two maintenance officers who came to check the heating system are very helpful and suggested to change to another room. Only by then, I was able to change to another room that matched the similar sized of a superior room, but without tree lined view. I must say that all the receptionists were friendly and polite but behind their friendliness, they are not really helpful at all. I had my dinner, a sea bass meal, at the restaurant - see the photo. The dinner and the service was both outstanding. The kettle in the room was not very clean; it could easily be cleaned by using small spray to remove the calcium. The gym and swimming pool are excellent. If you are not used to live in really loud room, please double check with the receptionists. It is also not worth to pay an extra 10 pounds per night to get a so called tree lined room with extreme loud noise. I also wonder the reason for the hotel to give customers rooms that the heating system are not working. It would helpful to check before they allocate room to customers. It would also helpful that the hotel ensure that the room has reasonable temperature before admitting guests, esp on a very cold winter night. Overall, this is not a very good experience. I was not able to sleep for a whole night. I paid extra in the hope of getting a better and quiet room but ended up with one of the worst room without getting any compensation.

Booked here as I’m having an exam at Cardiff in the early morning. Soundproof was AWFUL even though I asked for a quiet room. Even with earplugs I can hear people opening and closing the doors at 2 AM and later as people jumping (?) on the floor above. I guess I only managed to sleep 3-4 hours that night, before the exam that matters a lot to me. It was DREADFUL. I don’t understand why I was given a room just opposite to the fire door (and being sandwiched between other rooms) even when I asked a quiet room - probably because of my race? The room itself was small, without table and chairs, and without kettle. Window cannot be opened. The coffee machine in the lobby dispenses hot water for free, and staff members at reception were helpful in this case. Hygiene was fine but lime scale and grease were visible on the shower head.
