DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City was exactly what I needed during my business trip. Comfortable, reliable, and quietly kind. From the moment I arrived, the check-in was smooth and welcoming, and that first warm cookie felt like a small but genuine gesture of care after a long journey. The location is convenient, close to the city centre yet peaceful enough to rest. It made moving between meetings and personal time easy, something I truly appreciated. The room was modern, clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the lighting soft, and everything worked perfectly. It was not about luxury, but about thoughtful comfort that helps you recharge. Breakfast offered a good variety and the restaurant had a calm atmosphere that made mornings feel easy. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help without being intrusive. What stood out the most was the consistency. Every part of the stay felt dependable and well cared for. That sense of steadiness made it easy to relax and focus on the purpose of the trip. Thank you DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City for creating a space that feels balanced, peaceful, and genuinely comfortable.

Really happy with the stay, we had a bit of an incident with a broken down car and my son arriving late to meet us, we asked if we could accomodate my son rather than him going to his shared accomadation. Reception couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was great, (especially the make your own waffles), rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Will definitely come back.

The location isn't hard to find, but it's not close to the train station; it's still a 15-20 minute walk. Overall, it's basically an overpriced hostel. The front desk staff (a young lady) was alright. I stayed in what they called an 'accessible room,' which was quite large. The desk was tiny and impractical, with no space to put anything. The 'fake window' didn't allow for ventilation, so the air quality was poor. The bathroom was big but not suitable for general use; there was no sink, which was very inconvenient. The shower area had no partition, so whenever you showered, water would flood the entire bathroom. If you didn't block the door with a towel, it would flow into the room! To enter the bathroom afterwards, you'd have to step through water! And because the room had no real window, the humidity couldn't escape. The exhaust fan and light were on the same switch – both on or both off – and the fan was very noisy. However, it might be an option for disabled individuals using wheelchairs, as the entire room is barrier-free at ground level. Breakfast had very limited options. You could fill up, but it was far below the standard of a normal hotel breakfast, similar to what you'd find at some hostels. The free luggage storage was a plus, but the distance from the station was inconvenient. There's a machine in the lobby for directly calling an Uber, which is nice in case your phone signal is bad. Cleanliness wasn't great; there was dust everywhere, perhaps because there haven't been many guests recently. The bed was okay, a bit soft.

This hotel is hilariously bad… In a nutshell, great facilities but terrible service. 1. I asked the hotel to wash a pair of pants. I double-checked with the front desk, and they confirmed it would be delivered to my room before 6 PM. When I got back at 6:30 PM, it wasn't there. At 7:30 PM, I went downstairs only to find the pants at the front desk… no one ever brought them up. 2. When I returned to my room at 6:30 PM, I noticed that while the room was tidied, the toilet paper hadn't been replenished. Thinking I needed other amenities, I scanned the QR code on my phone to request them. The QR code actually worked today (unlike yesterday), but an hour after I made the request, nothing was delivered. Remembering the ridiculous experience on the phone yesterday, I went downstairs to the front desk to get them. Even then, it took another 15 minutes for them to be brought up. 3. The boiled eggs at breakfast weren't even cooked through – the egg whites were still runny… This really confirms it's a hotel with no service. The only positives: great location and newly renovated.

The hotel reception was very friendly. We arrived late, around 9:30 PM, because we were shopping at Bicester Village. The hotel is next to a Holiday Inn and has a decent-sized parking lot; it costs 6 pounds for an overnight stay, deducted from the deposit. Our room rate included dinner, but since the restaurant closed at 9 PM, the hotel arranged for us to eat at the bar next door. We ordered steak and fish and chips, which were surprisingly good, especially the steak. The room and bed were both very spacious, and the breakfast was excellent, featuring smoked salmon. Everyone in our group agreed it was great. There's also a traditional British reception room near the entrance, perfect for taking photos!

We were surprised how nice the hotel is for the price we paid. I went with an old friend for a mid-week city break in Sheffield. The hotel is pretty close to theb train station and we walked there easily with our wheeled suitcases. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful The bathroom had a bath and a shower; the bedroom itself was a decent size. I don't think the electronic safe was working correctly, or maybe it was used error, not sure about that, lol. There was a fridge in the room which was great and unexpected; the wi-fi was also excellent. The staff were friendly, and we could get more coffee, tea and milk from reception. We didn't go to the gym or spa, we did go swimming and it's a lovely, big, well heated pool. There were also two steam rooms, a sauna, an ice room and a discovery shower (a hot or cold shower with four sprays and red and blue lights). There wasn't a machine to spin the swimwear in, but there were polythene bags for wet swimwear. A lovely touch in the gym reception was a coffee machine, where you could sit down and have a free cappucino or whatever your fancy is. We got the train to Meadowhall which took 5 mins and cost £2.90 return (with our senior rail cards). Some locals said the tram was even easier, but we found the train easy enough and very fast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break in Sheffield.

I am Benny Mok(the register name is WAI-FU MOK), spent three days there at ROOM 211 from 31/7/2022 to 2/8/2022 in summer & I found that all the facilities in the hotel were superb & I was highly satisfied. The only shortcoming was there was a long weird sound when flushing at the bathroom. There might be some problems in the toilet bowl hose. Otherwise than that, I highly recommend this hotel cuz all the staff members at the hotel ARE SUPER FRIENDLY, welcoming, cheerful, caring including the housekeeping ladies ! Last but not least, the receptionist ~KARRA RIPPON. karra was the most patient, helpful, amicable , devoted, loving, thoughtful & caring staff member over there & there is no doubt about that! Would you mind sharing this inspiring message with this excellent receptionist and tell her that the inspiring message was from a HONG KONG IMMIGRANT FAMILY ? Many thanks & I owe you one!

I check the reviews before deciding to stay here. It’s a budget hotel, but parking is easy ( additional cost)  and there’s an EV charger available, which was very convenient. It’s only a 10 mins walk to the cinema and there’s are plenty restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is closeish to the station and was close to where I was working for a few days. It's in the city center with a tram stop a very short walk away. The reception looks bright, but they have an expensive coffee machine there, which I soon learnt meant I didn't have a kettle in my room. Check in was quick, friendly and simple. I had booked for two, ended up on my own. I got to my room and immediately noticed it was tiny with no desk, just a small path around the bed and a small bathroom. For the price paid, I expected a normal hotel experience. When I used the bathroom, I noticed a long hair in the sink, which washed away with the slightest trickle when I started washing my hands which told me it hadn't been cleaned. That made me then look at the floor and noticed that hadn't been swept, either.
