After location, price is a key factor when choosing a hotel in Prague. Contrary to common belief, it is often possible to find affordable hotels in the city centre depending on the season, the type of property and how early you book.

Prices can vary during peak periods such as summer, Christmas markets or major cultural events, so planning ahead can help secure better deals.

To optimise your budget, it is recommended to:

  • compare prices across different travel dates, as rates can vary significantly depending on demand
  • book in advance for popular periods, or check last-minute deals for more flexible trips
  • use filters to set a maximum price per night and quickly identify the best options
  • prioritise well-rated hotels that offer good value for money rather than simply the lowest price
  • check options such as free cancellation or breakfast included to avoid extra costs

Hotels in Prague city centre cover a wide range of budgets, from budget accommodation in historic buildings to more comfortable hotels near main squares and along the Vltava River, making it possible to find options suited to different travel styles.

Getting to the hotel from the main train station wasn't as straightforward as the website suggested... but a €30 taxi ride got us there in the end. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful – a really positive first impression! Our room was exceptionally quiet, spacious, practical, and thanks to the air conditioning, perfectly temperate without any drafts. We were overwhelmed by the breakfast spread: very rich, nicely presented, and with good coffee. However, the dining area was far too cold for our liking and had music playing that was too loud and unpleasant. In the evenings, the bar staff were wonderfully attentive and served us with a friendly and cheerful demeanor. We also had dinner at the hotel one night: the food was delicious, and the wine was served at the perfect temperature. To top it all off, we even received a complimentary BECHEROVKA – wonderful! By the way, once you figure out the public transport system, the hotel's connections are excellent!

Overall, the hotel is good, but if you like ordering room service via Wolt or Uber, the front desk staff are not always helpful. They do not allow pizza delivery couriers to go up to the room and refuse to deliver the food themselves. You have to leave your room and go down to the reception to pick up the order. This does not happen every day — it depends on which receptionist the courier encounters. Some allow the delivery, while others categorically refuse.

The hotel is located 2 tram stops from the city centre. Good breakfast. They also speak Russian. After 8 pm the reception is CLOSED. Rooms are cleaned daily. MINUS: Very early check-out at 10 am.

The hotel overall is really good! Good location, friendly staff, luggage service, beautiful lobby! One interesting thing is that, I had a two people room for one night, and a four people room for two nights, turned out that the two people room is much bigger than the four people room. But still everything thing is fine and comfortable! Highly recommended.

Great location, really easy to get around, with the metro and trams just a short walk away. A couple of things to be aware of: you have to pay extra for basics like towels and shower gel, and you’ll need to buy your own padlock for the storage drawers under the beds. They sell the padlocks too so you can get from them if you didn’t come with one. Breakfast was simple but did the job. There’s also a small minimart on site, which is super handy if you need something when other shops are closed.

Clean reception. Self check in machine. Lifts. Clean room, until I opened the fridge and found some rice, or similar, not been cleaned properly. The rest of the room was clean. Great shower, air con and the bed was ok. Pillows were very soft. Not too far a walk from the main area. Good price. Would stay again.

The Belvedere hotel is in a fantastic location, with the tram passing right in front and the stop just a minute's walk away. The rooms are cleaned daily, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff are polite and answer all questions. It was a lovely stay for the whole family, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next visit. Our only minor issue, which isn't really a flaw, was not bringing slippers as the hotel didn't provide them, but otherwise, we had no problems. Thank you to the Belvedere hotel and its staff.

Pros: The room was very spacious, the heating was good, and the breakfast was delicious (I noticed fried eggs were available around 7 AM, otherwise it was scrambled eggs). Cons: It's about an 8-10 minute walk from the station, which is a bit of a distance. Also, the room lighting was quite dim overall; as soon as I got back to the hotel, I just wanted to sleep. *The hotel no longer offers a washing machine or laundry service, but there's a self-service laundromat about a 5-minute walk away, which was quite convenient.

Fantastic stay! The hotel's location is superb, right in Prague's Old Town, making it incredibly easy to walk to all the major attractions. Even though it's an Ibis, the quality far exceeded my expectations. The room was compact but clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and thorough housekeeping. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and professional, making check-in and check-out a breeze. The facilities are comprehensive, and it offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Prague!
