How to find a cheap hotel in Prague city centre?

After location, price is a key factor when choosing a hotel in Prague. Contrary to common belief, it is often possible to find affordable hotels in the city centre depending on the season, the type of property and how early you book.

Prices can vary during peak periods such as summer, Christmas markets or major cultural events, so planning ahead can help secure better deals.

To optimise your budget, it is recommended to:

  • compare prices across different travel dates, as rates can vary significantly depending on demand
  • book in advance for popular periods, or check last-minute deals for more flexible trips
  • use filters to set a maximum price per night and quickly identify the best options
  • prioritise well-rated hotels that offer good value for money rather than simply the lowest price
  • check options such as free cancellation or breakfast included to avoid extra costs

Hotels in Prague city centre cover a wide range of budgets, from budget accommodation in historic buildings to more comfortable hotels near main squares and along the Vltava River, making it possible to find options suited to different travel styles.

The hotel was great in general. Could travel to many places by public transportation, the breakfast was very impressive, which had lots of choices and better than many 5 stars hotels I would say. The only shortcoming during my stay was the unstable WiFi, which frequently received no signal or being cut off, that was very frustrating.

Super value for money hotel! Enormous room, pretty good service (except some staff members gave us a low season breakfast promo every day for €6 and another guy said no that's only for when you check in....hmmmmm). Having said that, the breakfast was a fantastic spread and worth the money. The location is great too and easy to get to the main tourist areas. Recommend Deminka restaurant for Czech food, but even better is Hajnovka which is about 7 mins walk away.

Pretty basic accommodations but all you would need for a trip to prague really! for it’s price, pretty satisfactory :) asked the receptionist for recommendations for laundromat places and she was more than happy to help. Would be better if they had option to make-up room and to refill bottles of water in the room though. Other than that, all good!

Seriously, this place was awesome! The room was great, clean, and comfy, just what I needed after a long day. Every single staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful, always with a smile. The amenities were good, the only fault was the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna were always with a lot of people. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a fantastic experience, great location, walking distance from a shopping center and metro station and buses.

This hotel has that classic 'old money' vibe, much like the Grand Budapest Hotel with its symmetrical architecture. It's massive, feels like hundreds of rooms. The downside is the 'square with an open center' layout, which meant our room was incredibly far from the elevator – it felt like a five-minute walk just to get there from our door. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and the omelets were particularly good. The person in charge at the breakfast entrance seemed to be training an intern. When we were checking out, we were rushing to catch a train, so we brought our luggage directly to breakfast from our room. At first, the restaurant manager suggested we check our bags at the front desk. I explained we were very short on time, and he handled it expertly in front of the intern. He had the intern seat us in a spot that wouldn't obstruct other guests – that was really good. However, the hotel slippers were terrible; they were so flimsy they tore after just one day. They felt incredibly cheap and completely out of line with the Hilton brand. Overall, the hotel feels very solid and reliable, with excellent basic amenities. It's grand and a good choice for a trip.

Sservice was good, but there's no ”noisy people in the hallway” category. A couple and I guess their friends had an adjacent room and would be in the hallway talking and laughing on both days, but didn't go on too late so it was tolerable. The hotel staff were nice and professional. The room is a bit old, but not in a bad way. It's clean.

[Location] About a 12-minute walk from Prague Main Station, and around a 6-minute walk from Mustek metro station. Havel's Market, the Old Town, and the Astronomical Clock are all within walking distance. The very popular restaurant, Kantyna, is also about a 6-minute walk away. Charles Bridge is about a 20-minute walk. To Prague Castle, it's about two subway stops from Mustek station. I really enjoyed walking around Prague, so I walked everywhere myself. [Facilities] Even as a single room, it was quite spacious. I could easily open my suitcase, and there was a table with a mirror and a small table perfect for eating. The shower water pressure was fine, and a hairdryer was provided. However, the air conditioning seemed old, and the heating wasn't very effective. I stayed in mid-March, and it was a bit chilly. [Breakfast] It's complimentary, I believe? And it was good. There was ham, cheese, bread, scrambled eggs, yogurt, and fruit. It gets incredibly crowded right after opening, and there aren't any staff to guide you to seats, so finding a table can be a bit challenging. If you want to eat early, it might be a good idea to queue up about 10 minutes before opening time.

Everything was fantastic except the shower! Theres a bath woth shower, however, the shower doesnt hang up like a normal shower but rather lower down where pne has to sit in the bath tub to have a normal shower. The water temperature is not consistent and keep going from cold to very hot.... Apart from that, room was really nice, clean and spacious. Staff were great too

Despite the inconvenience of the unavailable room they remedied it with a very nice and clean apartment... they made a taxi available to us to reach it even if it was close... I would say that the solution was positive... varied and plentiful buffet breakfast... very friendly .

Very good hotel booked in reasonable price. Location is very convenient, close to the metro station that allows to reach it smoothly from train and bus stations or airport and of course from main attractions. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is very good - buffet with different options so everyone should find something that fots him. For me the only disadvantage is the size of restaurant - on Saturday at 9 AM it was very crowded and there were troubles with finding a free table. The rooms are also good, everything is clean, beds are convenient, there is kettler amd bathroom gels. I really admire TV with YouTube access. Things that can be improved is adding toothbrush and coffee bags (there were tea, sugar and milk). I would admire more plugs because almost all were taken by lights but there wasn't necessary to use them all. All in all, if you look a good hotel close to the city center, it's a good choice if price is around 100€.
