Stayed here recently and honestly it exceeded expectations. The room is compact but very well designed, everything feels intentional and not cramped. The bed by the window is such a highlight, especially with that natural light and city view, it makes the space feel calm and cozy at the same time. I also liked the modern, minimal aesthetic, the concrete ceiling, warm wood tones, and soft lighting all work really well together. It feels stylish without trying too hard. The small table and seating area are practical, and the room still feels functional even with limited space. Service was excellent throughout the stay. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made everything easy. The breakfast meals were also really good, with solid options to start the day. The location is very convenient as well, just a short walk to Bondi Junction railway station and right next to Westfield Bondi Junction, which made getting around and finding food or shopping super easy. Overall, a really comfortable and thoughtfully designed stay. Perfect if you appreciate a clean, modern vibe with a bit of character.

I’ve stayed in many hostels before and understand you sometimes get what you pay for, but my stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central was disappointing. We booked a private room for three with a shared bathroom. The room had a strong “slept-in” smell which seemed to come from the actual pillows and bedding rather than the sheets. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty, and during our five-day stay I only saw them cleaned once. The kitchen on the first floor is far too small for the number of guests. Fridges and cupboards were completely full, and with only a few cooktops, sinks and microwaves it’s very difficult to cook or find a place to eat. The hostel is very focused on partying, with events like pizza nights and free drinks in the kitchen area. It’s also quite noisy, with partying and heavy doors slamming day and night, so don’t expect much sleep. Considering how expensive Sydney is, this place still felt overpriced. The building is run down (cracked sinks), beds have thin mattresses, and we even saw a large cockroach one day. Staff simply said, “this is Australia.” There’s also no ramp at the entrance, so heavy luggage has to be carried up the stairs. The only real positive is the great location.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Loved the bathroom set up which is convenient for couples where shower and toilet are separated. Amenities are great with big gym and a nice outdoor pool, sadly it was chilly and raining so we couldn’t use the pool and there are no saunas. To our surprise there was no complimentary water in the room with the sign to drink a clean tap water, however we prefer bottled or filtered. Breakfast had a good selection with option to order eggs. Valet parking is $89, which is standard price for hotel parking in the city but you have to leave before 3pm or else they’ll charge you for an extra night. If you don’t mind a short 5min walk, I would recommend First Parking for $45 per 24h with unlimited entries and exits.

Me and my granddaughter had a early flight the next day so it was a great location and was very impressed with the free shuttle service. We didn’t check in until after 7pm so was very happy to be able to get a bite to eat when we arrived. Would stay again

This was the first booking I made for this trip and the last hotel I checked into. I booked it even before leaving home. Shangri-La's standards are quite high and reliable. The location is excellent, just a few hundred meters' walk from the Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, and Barangaroo Park. Sydney Opera House is just past Circular Quay. They even upgraded my room, thank you! The hotel's pre-authorization process is standard: the final charge and refund are processed under the original pre-authorization. There's no need for additional steps. The data provided to decision-makers, regarding resident or external guest consumption, influences future business strategies; some domestic hotels have even shifted their focus to F&B. The hotel's introduction should also be rewritten. It needs to clearly state which floor the pool and gym are on, as well as the restaurant's location, operating hours, and cuisine style. Many hotels in China indicate relevant restaurants, fitness centers, etc., next to the elevator floor buttons.

The front desk service was excellent, and the hotel is close to the airport. Taking an Uber or similar ride-sharing app is cheaper for getting around. The room was spacious and very clean, and it even had a view of the harbor bridge, which was an amazing value! The only downside was the small TV. Oh, and there are free SIM cards worth $2 on a travel rack in the lobby that you can top up online yourself.

The room was super comfortable, and the location is great – right between Sydney University and Circular Quay. It's really easy to get around by public transport. You can also walk to Darling Harbour, the Fish Market, Hyde Park, or the Royal Botanic Garden. The hotel breakfast was good too, definitely recommend it.

A little inconvenient is the fact that the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, so if you have very large luggage it can be quite a job to carry it up to your room. However, it’s very close to the center, so it’s not too bad after all

The location was super, right in the center and only a 30-minute walk to the Opera House. However, the people there tend to stick to their own groups, and it's really hard to strike up a conversation, so it's not ideal for solo travelers. The kitchen was okay, adequately equipped. Unfortunately, the rooms didn't have curtains on the beds (which were very shaky), and there are only lockers that you have to pay for. They don't explain much to you; you have to figure out where everything is and how it works yourself (for example, that you need to bring an extra cooler bag with a zipper)... If you can, try not to get a room facing outwards – there's so much noise all night long that even earplugs won't help. So, overall, it's pretty mediocre. The location is good if you're out and about all day anyway and just need a place to sleep.
